BLAIRE
"My lady! I've been looking for you!" I can’t help but feel dizzy from passing through time-and space consciously. I slowly lifted my head and saw a middle-aged woman with ginger-colored hair running in haste towards my direction. 'Who is she?' I wondered while tilting my head in confusion. I don't know her but I think the real owner of this body does. Warmth is surging within my heart the moment I saw her, just like when I saw my father running in worry the last time I saw him. I unconsciously smiled sadly as I remembered the last image of him. Aaah! No! Focus, Blaire! We still have things to do! I slapped my cheeks together to pump myself up. You’re alive and you’ll go back to your family! so hurry up and accomplish your task!
“My lady, what’s wrong? Are you hurt somewhere? I heard your scream!” Her eyes are filled with worry as she carefully inspects my body for injuries. Her subtle actions looked very genuine to me. I think she is someone who truly cares for Victoria. I shook my head and gave her a frown. If she treasures the real Victoria then I guess she would find out in no time that I’m not her. It’s better to admit ignorance than deceive the knowledgeable.
“I-I’m sorry but...” I tried to look apologetic and met her gaze with trembling eyes “w-who are you?” Gosh! Can someone give me an Oscar award right now?
The woman instantly froze in horror. "M-my lady, what are you talking about?" She muttered nervously as her hand started to tremble. I’m sorry but I couldn’t tell you the whole truth, yet. I shook my head and stared at the ground.
“I'm sorry. I think I've bumped my head against that rock and lost my memories" I mumbled sadly while pointing at the huge rock beside me. She gasped loudly and covered her mouth with both hands. She blinked a couple of times in disbelief before smiling hesitantly. "M-my lady, this is another one of your pranks, isn't it?"
I shook my head the third time and placed a palm on my forehead, trying to suppress my frustrations. "I didn't know what happened but when I came to my senses, I was lying on the grass with a stone before me. My head hurts quite a bit right now and I can't remember anything, not even where I am or who you are" I sighed and tried to look as regretful as possible to make my excuse look more realistic.
The woman stared at me for a long time as if studying me closely. This made my heart beat nervously as I bit my lower lip. She heaved a deep sigh of regret and offered her hand. ".... if that's the case, we should go inside and treat your wound first." I nodded and took her hand with a little smile.
Only as I got up did I notice the strange dress I was wearing. Wow! Is this the type of clothing they are wearing in this era? It’s quite heavy, and warm; polar opposite of what I tend to wear back home. The woman carefully assisted me as I walked and suddenly, she stopped infront of a huge castle. Wait---! What?!Upon setting my eyes on it, my jaw literally dropped in disbelief. “A-are we going inside?” She looked back after opening the door and smiled brightly. “Yes, my lady. This is your house after all.” I couldn’t help but choke at my own saliva. Are you kidding me?! Victoria lives here?!
That’s when a thought hit me. Victoria.... Who is she? My eyes widened in realization. I know she’s a character from a book but...... WHAT BOOK?! I’ve read too many stories! I can’t even remember the main character’s name after reading it; how much more the side characters?! I tousled my hair in frustration and groaned. Remember it, Blair! Remember it! What book did I bring on the ship? I closed my eyes and thought deeply about its image. It was quite a thick book, I’ve always loved long novels though. Its cover.... I think it was blue? Legend of the Blue Ocean? Midnight Lovers?----
“My lady?” My thoughts were interrupted by a gentle voice. I abruptly opened my eyes and smiled. “Ah! I’m sorry! I’m just trying to regain my memories.” I scratched my head in embarrassment and took a step inside the castle. Well, let’s think about it later when I’m alone.
The interior may look old and shabby with its poor decorations but you still can't deny how spacious this house is compared to ours back home! I tried to look around but find no other servant; no maid nor butler, except for me and her in this gigantic mansion. I was escorted towards my room where it looked like 3x the size of our house back home. Wow! This world really feels like a fairytale!
She made me sit on the bed and prepared the first-aid kit. "My lady” She whispered quietly as if preventing herself from shedding a tear. “I-I’m sorry! It is due to my negligence that my lady has to suffer from memory loss!" She bowed her head deeply before me as tears started to run down her cheek.
'Wait! Waiiiiitt! What should I do?!’ I took a deep breath, trying to calm myself from the panic. 'Okay, you're a sister who takes care of your 4 younger siblings, you can comfort another person, Blaire! You can do this!' I softly patted her head and lowered myself to have the same height as her.
"Please don't blame yourself. I was the one at fault." She lifted her head and was about to protest but I continued with a sweet smile. "Instead, can you teach me everything I need to know? and if it's okay, can I ask for your name?" I mumbled while looking at the ground shyly. The woman looked at me in daze and chuckled softly as she stood back up.
"I'm sorry for the late introduction, my lady. My name is Joewella, your personal nanny since the day you were born" I continued to smile at her and asked further questions. "It may sound weird but can you please also tell me who I am, my family, friends, and my current situation?" She nodded obediently and answered.
"My lady, you are the first star of the Kristania Empire, Princess Victoria Nightingale Teravania. The only child of Empress Catherine and Emperor George Henry Teravania. Unfortunately, your mother died after giving birth to you that is why the emperor does not favor the princess even if you look exactly like the empress whom he loved deeply. After a year, he married Empress Diane and they had 2 children which are your younger siblings; Prince Johann Carseian and Princess Axiel. But beware, my lady..." Her voice trailed off as her expression became dark and serious.
"Johann Carseian." I echoed in a very low voice. I remembered that name. He is the male lead of the book “Midnight Lovers” and the crown prince of this empire if I am not mistaken. He fell inlove deeply with Mikaela Strauss, the main character of the story. He is very possessive to the point where he is ready to kill anyone who dares to intervene with their love. Crappy as it may sound but most people are into that kind of guys, I guess I’m not part of that majority. I turned back my attention to Joewella and continued to listen.
"Since the emperor does not pay any attention to the princess, the empress and her children despise you and treats you unfairly. Because of that, no one tries to approach you nor make friends with you." Her voice was implementing her sadness from watching Victoria grow up as a loner from the maltreatment of her family. Ah yes, I remembered how Victoria desperately tries her best to be noticed and loved by the emperor and his family but fails every time. This is also the reason why she switched bodies with me but goodness! Do I look like a god? is she expecting me to do a miracle?! I heaved a deep sigh with a frown.
"But don't worry princess, you still have me. I swore to the late empress Catherine to always be by the princess' side no matter what happens." She smiled softly at me, her eyes beaming with sincerity, reassuring my doubts and clearing up the negativities in my mind.
"... thank you, Joewella" I mumbled while plastering a smile on my face. In this world, Joewella is my first ally. She is the only one Victoria could trust and lean on. Only her. So why do I feel a hidden presence somewhere? Like a rat lurking around the corner. I lifted the scissors inside the kit and impulsively threw it with all my might towards the window, stabbing the oak tree without looking.
"Kyaaah!" Joewella shrieked in fear at my sudden violent action. I gazed sharply in that direction and saw a shadow swiftly disappearing from my sight. Black cloak. I narrowed my eyes and without a second thought ran barefoot on top of the bed and jumped out of the window, supporting myself by grabbing on the strong branches. The suspicious person was extremely surprised seeing a princess chasing after him that is why he jumped off the tree and ran on the ground towards the walls, trying to escape.
"Damn this dress!" I murmured angrily and tore the heavy dress with all my strength and grabbed on the tallest branch. I gracefully ran on it before jumping on the thin air where I landed just above the walls. Thank God I was raised in the forest! A smirk was inevitably formed on my lips as I saw him with a horrified expression. Hah! Got you!
"Wazzup, my boy? are you ready to die?"

The cornered man glared at the lady who was smirking proudly with dried leaves on her long wavy hair. He sneakily reached under his black cloak and in the blink of an eye, threw a sharp dagger towards Blaire's direction. She instinctively dodged the weapon as if she was expecting it and jumped off the wall to have the same footing as the suspect. He immediately thrust another blade towards her but Blaire swiftly bent her body backward and kicked his outstretched arm using her right foot making the weapon flutter on the hard ground. She skillfully lunged forward and grabbed him by the throat. 'Luckily, Victoria has long nails' Her smirk widened on the thought as she harshly dug her sharp nails deep into his pale skin. "Who sent you here?" She asked with a tone so poisonous that made cold shivers run down his spine. The smile on her face was nowhere to be found as she stared at him with cold eyes, warning him that she won't think twice about soaking the floor w
BLAIRE "What's your name, Mr. Spy?" I asked while applying treatment to the wound I've inflicted a while ago. "Don't get me wrong. I don't have plans on becoming your friend." He replied abruptly with a snobbish tone. Annoyed by his reply, I picked up the alcohol on the kit and poured it on his open wound on the neck in annoyance. "AAAAHHHH! WHAT THE---!! WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!" He angrily screamed and jolted away in pain. "You need to sanitize the wound before treating it, ya know?" I rolled my eyes as if stating the most obvious fact in the world. "BUT YOU NEED TO CLEAN IT WITH COTTON! NOT DIRECT APPLICATION!" I shrugged my shoulders nonchalantly and continued rummaging through the kit as if I was just listening to the wind. "Since you won't tell me your name, I'll just continue to call you Mr. Spy." I remarked while carefully patting the cotton ball with medicine on his forehead. Realizing that his protests are useles
BLAIRE "Why are you here?" My whole body froze upon hearing a familiar deep voice. I instantly shut my eyes and took small deep breaths before composing myself to face the masculine figure behind me. "Who are you? Why are you talking down to a princess?" I growled in warning and confidently lifted my chin. With narrowed eyes, I shot him a cold gaze and folded my arms in front of me. I tried my best to act like a stranger to him but this guy....his face is crumpled in full annoyance. I instantly bit my lip to stop myself from laughing at his priceless expression. I feigned a cough to compose myself and the moment our eyes met, the pair of green orbs that were intensely staring at me softened as he heaved a sigh. When the gush of wind suddenly blew against our direction, the hood from his black cloak slowly slipped away and revealed his glorious silver linen hair which gracefully danced along with the serenades of the wind.
BLAIRE In this world, Victoria's life is always in danger. The Empress is keeping an eye on my every move, the princess is looking for ways to eradicate my existence, the prince is turning a blind on my maltreatment, and the emperor has long abandoned his first child. One sunrise, someone planted a bomb around my palace. The other time, I almost ingested poison from picking up a fruit around the garden, thankfully, Joewella was there to stop me. I couldn't help but slump my head on the table as I groaned in frustration. I think Victoria survived all these years because of Joewella. I stared at the woman who is cheerfully humming as she swept the dried leaves off the ground. I bet she's not an ordinary maid, no one could detect a bomb unless they know much about it. A smirk played on my lips as I sat back. I don't care about her secrets, as long as she won't stab me from the back, I would call her my ally. "...ally" I echoed my words in a whis
BLAIRE "I'm homeeee!" I yelled while skipping through my steps. Joewella and Eunice immediately came out the door with excited expressions. "My lady! What have you brought this time?" Eunice asked enthusiastically while running in my direction. "It's a deer." I plopped the dead animal on the ground with a proud smile. Victoria's stamina has improved a lot these past few days. At least, my workout exercises didn't come to waste. "My lady, are you hurt anywhere? did you have a cut? do you feel pain somewhere?" Joewella asked consecutively without catching her breath as she inspected each corner of my body. I have no choice but to chuckle at her great concern. "I'm fine. Can you please send this to Jerome and ask him to prepare dinner?" "Yes, my lady!" They nodded their head and accepted the rope that I offered which connects to the horns of my prey. I shifted my gaze towards the narrow tree by the walls and smiled at the

Sirens and Mermaids are nemeses since the beginning of time. Although they live in the same environment, their personalities are like oil and water. The latter is known to be gentle and kind while the former is alluring and mischievous in nature. In a flash, her tail vanished and a pair of feet came into sight. She glared at me with her cobalt blue eyes and furiously marched in my direction. My maid grabbed my wrist as she stood before me, protecting me with her body from my origin's arch-enemy. Everyone knows that mermaids and sirens never get along. Now, I get the reason why my blood would never be calm around her. She stared intenselyat my maid and gardener who were present in the situation and parted her lips. "I will say this once..."
BLAIRE I slowly opened my mouth and ate a spoonful of dessert with a little uneasiness. The number of eyes that has been focusing on me are making me feel uneasy for quite sometime now. I've already been used to Mr. Spy's unwavering stares but not from the others. I gently placed my utensil back on my plate and smiled awkwardly at the three of them who are standing in front of me. "Uhm..." "My lady, you should drink more water!" "You should eat more food to stay healthy!" "I've prepared these dishes to supply you with ample nutrients for your body, my lady!" I scratched my head and squinted my eyes without removing the smile on my lips to them whose faces are fu
BLAIRE "My lady, shall we go now?" I lifted my head and smiled at Eunice who was extending her hands to me. I accepted her assistance and got in the carriage with drowsy eyes. Noticing my sunken aura, Eunice didn't bother to ask questions and allowed me to close my eyes and rest against the wall. I can't sleep well from what happened last night. All my emotions are too mixed up that I can't distinguish one from the other. I gave out a sigh and lifted my heavy eyelids on the window. The people are crowding over the streets, laughing, talking, doing the things they've always done. +Please wait a moment. I will upload the full chapter in the next few hours.+
BLAIRE "Haaaaaaaah" I let out a deep sigh as I surrendered my body against the door. How many times have I sighed this day? I closed my eyes and enjoyed the cold breeze of spring comforting my racing heart. I've barely started the plan yet it seems like my life span has drastically decreased. I shook my head in defeat and smiled sadly. Life's never been easy to me. I slowly walked towards the railings of the balcony and inhaled the sweet scent of the moist green grass.I turned my gaze upward and appreciated the beauty of the wraith-silver disc hanging in the withered skies. Lasers of moonlight, as bright as diamond-flame, turned the scenery a-glow like melted platinum together with the tiny heavenly bodies glittering merrily in their lovely abode. '12th balcony to the left' is what I remembered to be Duke Vel Lavite's sanctuary in the Imperial Palace. I still remembered a scene from the book where he attended a banquet and got distressed
BLAIRE “My lady,” I flinched at the sudden voice behind me. W-what was that? I didn’t notice their presence at all! I tightly closed my eyes and took a deep breath. You can do this, Blaire. In three, two, one… I dramatically turned my head back with my hair swinging like a melody of a lullaby as I faced the group of gentlemen walking in my direction. “My lord,” I called back with a gentle voice and a coy smile. My eyes were narrowed from the uplift of my cheeks as I secretly inspected them from head to toe. These men…. they may be wearing ravishing clothes befitting a noble, however, their crude etiquette could never conceal their rigid per
BLAIRE “Ugh! I don’t feel right,” I grumbled with an uncomfortable expression. I leaned my head against the wall and sighed. Ben couldn't help but chuckle at my frustrating situation. “There’s no need to be nervous. I bet the duke won’t be able to take his eyes off you.” I ran my hands on my waist with an uncomfortable expression. “Why is this so tight?! I can hardly breathe!” Ben frowned and soothed my back with his gentle hands. “The aristocrats have always believed that: the slimmer the waist; the more desirable a woman is.” “Hah! What bullshit is that?” I scoffed and flipped my head away in disbelief. I can feel Ben's glare digging through my head but I didn't dare to look back. So is this how I’m going to clothe myself from now on? “I’m not withstanding this!-” “-Not unless you become the Empress,” Ben replied abruptly with a s
BLAIRE “-ur Highness! You have to wake up now!” I drowsily opened my heavy eyelids at Joewella’s urgent voice. “Mmmm--what?” I asked weakly while rubbing my eyes. “We have to start preparing now!” I furrowed my eyebrows and glanced through the window. The sun is just about to rise and you’re telling me to start preparing? “The party is still is still in the evening, right?” I asked dumbfounded at their panic. Eunice looked at me with fire burning intensely in her eyes as she clenched her fist in the air, and replied emphasizing each word. “Let’s. Start. Now!” With that, a couple of women with familiar faces entered the room. Wait! They are the ladies from The Black Sun! What are they doing here? They looked at each other and exchanged strange expressions. Uh-oh! I don’t lik
BLAIRE My jaw dropped at what I’ve heard. This man looks like a living statue, perfectly sculpted by the gods but would have been better if you wouldn't hear them speak. “W-w-what are you talking about?!” I immediately found my stable footing on the ground and pushed him away. “Who are you?” I asked with furrowed brows as I didn’t take my suspicious eyes away from him. The hood from his cloak gently fell on his back and his glorious crimson hair shined brightly under the heat of the sun. Woah! He’s hot! It’s definitely a sight to behold as his purple eyes looked back at me gently. He flashed a smile so bright that even the sun envied his radiance. “It’s me! Ishi!” He exclaimed excitedly. Ishi? I don’t think I’ve heard that name before. I tilted my head and thought for a moment. I d
BLAIRE “HAHAHAHAHA!!” “Stop laughing, Evander! You’re making me more embarrassed!” The heat on my cheeks is burning up as I tried to hide my face with my hands and kept my head low. “I was an expert with heights before but Victoria has a really bad sense of balance!” “Seriously! Who would try to climb on top of a door?! HAHAHHAHAHA” Ughh! My face flushed redder than it was before that I wished the ground would open up and swallow me whole. I started to hit Evander on the arm and explained,“I do! I was scared of tall places before but I wanted to be an acrobat so I conquered my fear little by little and now it has become comforting thing for me already!” Evander
BLAIRE “-hut your sht!” “I’m telling the truth!” “That’s what liars say” “But I’m not one!” I slowly opened my heavy eyelids and adjusted my vision from the indoor lights. What’s with the commotion? I carefully got up and suddenly, 6 pairs of eyes immediately turned in my direction. “What’s going on?” I asked weakly as they froze in place. “Your Highness!” They shouted in unison which startled me greatly. They ran towards my side, leaving the poor silver-haired guy on the floor with his hands and feet tied. “Are you okay?” “How do you feel now?” “Are you in pain?” They asked me countless questions in a hurry that it started to make me feel dizzy. Ah! Suddenly, a quick shadow entered the room thro
BLAIRE “Here’s the paper today, Your Highness.” Joewella placed the newspaper in front of me as I slowly took a sip from my drink. “It’s really weird to see milk inside the teacup instead of tea,” Eunice murmured quietly while frowning. I turned my head towards her and smiled sarcastically “Then close your eyes.” “Your Highness!” She cried in annoyance as I laughed out loudly. “You’ll get used to it in no time, Eunice.” “But I should not. It should be you who must get used to drinking tea, Your Highness. Noble ladies serve and drink tea in parties, not milk!” “Aya!” I waved my hand in disapproval as I frowned. I know that but I can’t get over the taste of this expensive drink yet. I have four other siblings at home and we can’t afford to buy milk so I’m taking my time and enjoying every bit of it here.
