Ava's POV

I lay in Richard's arms, my body still tingling from the aftermath of our lovemaking. The room was quiet, save for the soft hum of the air conditioning and our steady breaths.

The cool breeze from the vents contrasted with the warmth radiating from his body, enveloping me in a cocoon of comfort and safety. His strong arms wrapped around me, and I could feel his heartbeat against my back, a steady rhythm that mirrored my own.
