Chapter 62 Informs The Police

Ava's POV

The tears wouldn’t stop, no matter how much I tried to hold them back. They poured out of me, as if all the pain I had kept buried deep inside was finally breaking free.

Standing here, on this cliffside, where everything had ended before, I felt like I was standing on the edge of my sanity. The memories, so vivid and painful, came rushing back to me all at once, leaving me gasping for breath.

“Richard,” I whispered, my voice trembling with emotion, “can you bring the police over here?”

His reaction was immediate, confusion clouding his features. “What? Ava, what are you talking about? What exactly am I bringing the police for?”

I knew I wasn’t making any sense to him. How could I? The things I had experienced, the life I had lived before this one—it wasn’t something I could easily explain.
