Hermes’s phone rang for what must have been the tenth time that day and he ignored it once again. There he was, sat in his dark office, a bottle of whiskey on his table and a glass in his hand. He hated drinking but recently with everything that was going on, he found himself drinking more and more. It was very obvious to anybody that paid enough attention that this whole business with Rafael was proving to be much more than he could handle. He was still trying to process everything that had been going on in the past few days.

He sat there thinking about where he must have gone wrong with everything and what steps he could have taken to prevent the current predicament which he found himself in. The more he thought about it, the less thoughts that seemed to be coming into his head. Hermes was used to being the one holding all the power and influence but for the first time in a very long time, he seemed to be completely powerless against this foe of his.
