Hearing the cries in the ward, Colin dashed into the room with the doctor. He grabbed Amy's arm. "Amy, calm down! Please! Mr. Holt's the father of your child. He wouldn't abandon you like that! You've misunderstood him. He's just fooling around."

Amy gradually calmed down as several people held her steady. She glared at the heartless Thaddeus with tears in her eyes, feeling wronged. She was unhappy. Why should she let him go?
