Chapter 72. Die for a wrong cause

Danielle's POV

I kept running without looking back. I took my left and ran inside the woods which were very close to the warehouse.

I still heard gunshots. Where is everyone? What happened? I rested on a tree and looked at the warehouse. I have come this far.

I eased my breath and regulated my breathing. One…two…three…nobody's dying, nothing is happening to them in the woods. I kept running, dodging every fallen tree or branch.

The sounds of gunshots echoed through the woods, breeding more fear in me. The way I ran made it look like I had been practicing how to run in the woods for a very long time.

With extinct determination, I made my way into the warehouse unnoticed. Most of the guards had gone into the woods to see what was happening.

This is all my fault, I won't be able to forgive myself if anything happens to anyone. I tiptoed into the dark warehouse.

A very uncomfortable smell came from the warehouse. I looked around, making sure not to make any sound
