Danielle's POV

I stood there, tapping my foot with folded arms. Gabriel was the first to come in, then Mila, Lila then Ella. I stood beside the bar and watched as they tiptoed inside the house.

Gabriel looked left and right like he was about to cross the road, hiding or should I say guarding the kids behind him.

"Where were you?" I asked as he was about to take a step. He froze up and looked at me with one leg in the air. He stumbled a little before settling back on his feet.

The kids held a part of his pants and peeped from the side of his legs with some…bags…shopping bags. Where have they been? They didn't take the car, did they walk all the way there?

He cleared his throat and scratched his head with his left hand. He does that when he wants to lie or when he has nothing to say.

"I took them shopping, they kept on telling me they wanted to go out. You weren't around so we sort to leave as quickly as possible."
