Chapter 26

As I broke the hug and looked worried, John's expression turned serious. "What's wrong, Mirabel?" he asked, his voice soft and concerned.

"It's Andrew," I said, my voice barely above a whisper. "I don't think he's going to take this well."

John's face hardened, his jaw clenched in determination. "He will," he said, his voice firm and resolute.

I looked at him, my eyes wide with concern. "Are you sure? Because I couldn’t shake off the feeling that Andrew is still mad at the present you gave to me " I asked, my voice trembling. "He's always been so opposed to our relationship."

John nodded, his eyes locked on mine. "I know," he said. "But I will talk to him , Mirabel. I will explain everything to him, and he will understand."

I wasn't so sure, but John's confidence was reassuring. Maybe he was right, maybe Andrew would come around once he understood the situation.
