It won't take long

By the end of our lesson, I could barely move anything except for the knight, rook and queen. Jake tried to hide his laughter, but failed miserably.

"What? What's so funny?" I glared at him.

"Nothing." He laughed softly. "You just remind me a lot of my brother when I was younger." He admitted.

I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion.

"What do you mean? Was he bad at chess?" I questioned.

"Well, I mean, he was pretty terrible, honestly." He shrugged.

We continued talking, joking around and having fun playing monopoly. After about three hours, Jake and my family decided to call it quits and say bye to each other. After Jake got in his car, I watched as he drove away and sighed. I felt kind of lonely, since he's the only person in my life besides my parents. However, I didn't want to ruin things.

I decided to distract myself with some baking. I went to the store and bought ingredients for chocolate chip cookies and a whole bunch of different cupcakes. After I baked the last batch of cookies,
