Rose's POV

As I heard them talk about me, I couldn't shake off the feeling of dread that settled over me like a heavy fog.

Linda, my closest friend and now savior, was discussing something about me with a stranger, someone I hadn't even met yet.

What had I done to warrant their concern? I understand they are concerned but they didn't even see me before concluding. I wanted to burst into the room, demand answers, and dispel whatever doubts they harbored.

However, a part of me hesitated. It felt like eavesdropping, invading their private conversation. Still, the urge to uncover the truth gnawed at me relentlessly.

With a resolute sigh, I swung my legs over the side of the bed, slipped into my slippers, and quietly tiptoed toward the closed door.
