My heart pounded so loudly in my chest that I was sure Mimi could hear it. I stood frozen outside the room, unable to move. Every terrible possibility of what could happen during my stay with her ran through my mind. I felt a lump form in my throat and tears pricking my eyes. I didn't want to be here, not with her.
With shaky legs, I finally stepped into the room, hoping to go unnoticed. Luckily, there was a demarcation between our spaces, which gave me a sense of relief. But just as I was about to reach my side, I felt a sudden push, and I fell to the ground with a thud.
"Hey bitch," Mimi's voice was laced with venom. "What are you doing here?"
My head spun, and I winced in pain. "I...I'm your roommate," I managed to stammer.
She crouched down and grabbed my hair, causing a fresh wave of pain to course through me. "I said, what the fuck are you doing here, bitch?"
I couldn't find my voice, so I just cried quietly. She finally let go of my hair, and I stumbled to my feet.
"My space is over there, Royal," Mimi sneered. "Do well to stay away from me unless you want to make your stay here a living nightmare."
I scurried to my side of the room and locked the door behind me. My hands shook as I dropped my bag and sat on the floor, leaning against the door. I could already tell this was going to be a long and torturous stay.
Tears were streaming down my face and I couldn't control my sobs. The room felt like a prison, trapping me in my misery. I clutched the locket around my neck tightly, feeling the weight of my parents' absence. "Why did you leave me?" I cried out, the pain too much to bear.
I continued to cry, feeling sorry for myself and the situation I was in. The memories of my happy life before coming to this pack came flooding back, and I wished I could go back to that time. "Take me with you, Mom and Dad," I pleaded, feeling the tears flow freely.
I must have cried myself to sleep, as I woke up the next day with a pounding headache and aches all over my body. My eyes were red and puffy, a clear sign of my distress. I dragged myself to the mirror and saw the mess that was my appearance. I took comfort in holding my locket, closing my eyes and whispering a prayer to my parents. "Please help me get through this," I begged.
I decided to take a bath to freshen up, and afterwards, I requested breakfast to be delivered to my room. I spent the day and night inside my room, avoiding Mimi and her bullying. The painkillers and cucumbers helped reduce the swelling around my eyes and ease the pain in my body.
The next day, I woke up feeling better. I looked at myself in the mirror and saw no trace of my swollen red eyes or the physical discomfort from before. I smiled, feeling a glimmer of hope in my heart. Maybe today would be a better day.
I woke up to another day in the pack house and my first instinct was to check if Mimi was still around. I peeked out of my room but didn't see her anywhere. Relief washed over me as I let out a sigh.
I decided to make the most of my remaining days here and explore the pack house. I wore a cute floral green dress, sandals, stud earrings, and my favorite locket necklace. I met a few girls and we explored the pack house together, but I was too shy to lead, so I trailed behind them.
As night approached, we all gathered in the dining area for dinner. I was nervous about eating with everyone, but the lady in the house had taught us proper etiquette, so I blended in easily.
When I returned to my room, I couldn't believe what I saw. Mimi's side was empty! I was overjoyed and couldn't contain my excitement. I jumped around the room like a child who had just received candy. It was like the start of a new journey for me.
I quickly packed my pajamas and headed to the bathroom for my night routine, singing and dancing along the way. I took my time in the tub, enjoying the warm water and relaxation that came with it. It was the first time I was able to relax and enjoy a bath without fear of Mimi coming to hurt me.
As I headed back to my room, I heard a loud crash coming from inside. I opened the door and was shocked at the sight before me. My room was a complete mess. All my things were scattered and broken, and my clothes were torn to pieces. It was as if a wild animal had broken in.
Tears welled up in my eyes as I walked around the room, taking in the damage. I was sobbing uncontrollably, trying to comprehend why Mimi would do something like this. My heart was shattered into a million pieces.
"Mimi," I whispered, knowing she was the only one capable of doing this. But why? I couldn't understand why she would go to such lengths to hurt me.
As I searched for my locket, I heard Mimi's voice behind me. "Looking for this?" she taunted. I froze, unable to move or turn around to face her.
"Answer me, Royal!" Mimi shouted, her tone laced with authority. My heart felt like it was being stabbed with every word she spoke.
My heart was pounding in my chest as I faced Mimi. I could feel the anger building up inside me, but I knew I had to keep calm if I wanted to get my necklace back.
"It's mine, Mimi, give it back. Please," I said, trying to sound as calm as possible.
"Tell me why I should give it back. I've always seen you wearing this goddamn necklace and I wondered what it contained and why it was so special to you. I guess I finally found it," she said with a snickering laugh as she played with my locket.
I could feel my blood boiling at her words, but I took a deep breath and tried to keep my cool. "I don't have to explain anything to you. It's mine, and I want it back," I said firmly.
But Mimi wasn't about to give up that easily. "I saw the picture of your pathetic parents and I must say, they must have been fed up with you and decided to die rather than take care of you."
That was it. I couldn't take it anymore. "How dare you!" I shouted, my voice shaking with anger. "I can stand any form of insult to myself but not to my parents. Give it back, Mimi. I'm begging you."
But Mimi wasn't about to back down. She squeezed the locket so tight that it broke immediately. I gasped for breath as I watched my most prized possession break into pieces.
And then she did the unthinkable. She walked towards the window. "Royal, you want this?" she said with a devilish smile, toying with the already broken locket.
I took a deep breath and tried to calm myself down. I took baby steps, walking closer to her, hoping she'd return my necklace to me. She took some steps forward, acting like she'd return the necklace. I had my back facing the window and her, few feet in front of me with my hands stretched out towards her. "Please," I begged her again.
But then she said something that made my heart sink. "If you want it then go get it," she said with a smirk, and in a blink of an eye, she threw the necklace out of the window and into the open space.
My whole body was numb with shock as I watched my beloved locket shatter into pieces on the hard floor. Tears streamed down my face as I struggled to comprehend what had just happened. Mimi had always been envious of my necklace, but I never imagined she would go to such lengths to hurt me.
"Why did you do that?" I screamed at her, my voice choked with emotion.
"Because I can," she replied nonchalantly, tossing her hair over her shoulder. "And besides, it's not like it was worth anything."
I wanted to lunge at her, to hurt her the way she had hurt me, but I couldn't move. The pain of losing my treasured necklace was too overwhelming. Mimi walked over to the window and leaned against the frame, a smug look on her face.
"Such a shame," she said, staring out into the open space. "You know, it's a long way down from here."
I didn't understand what she meant until she turned to me, a sly grin spreading across her lips.
"Care to join your precious necklace?" she taunted, pushing me towards the window.
Royal's POVI stumbled backward, my heart racing. I couldn't believe Mimi would go this far, but I knew better than to underestimate her."What are you doing? Stop!" I cried out, grabbing onto the window to steady myself.Mimi walked away, leaving me alone with my thoughts and the shattered remains of my locket.I heard her laugh maniacally and I couldn't help but feel a surge of anger and rage coursing through my veins. But I knew that fighting her was not an option. I would only end up in the hospital, or worse. As I stared out the window, I couldn't help but feel a sense of despair wash over me. Without the locket, I felt like I had lost a piece of myself. But I wasn't going to let Mimi get the best of me. I took a deep breath and resolved to get my necklace back, no matter what it took. With a newfound determination, I quickly made my way out of the room and down the stairs, scanning the ground below for any sign of my beloved locket. As soon as I heard the door close, I immediate
Alpha Chase's Pov The past few weeks had been hectic, from attending human meetings for my businesses to dealing with pack issues and challenges as the Alpha. After I sent the girls I picked from the selection to be groomed, I was too busy to visit them or monitor their progress as I left it all in the hands of my Beta. I haven't informed them of what I needed them to do but I planned on addressing that today. After a long day of pack meetings and discussions, I arrived at my home, the six-story pack house. As I stepped into the pack house, I immediately noticed the tension in the air. The pack members were gathered in groups, whispering to each other and glancing nervously at me. I could sense their fear and uncertainty. Once they noticed my presence, they all became mute and I knew something was wrong, and I quickly made my way to my office. As I opened the door, I was met with a sight that made my blood boil. My elder brother, Ryan, was sitting in my chair, his face twisted wi
Alpha's Chase's Pov "The girl, the halfling, I don't know where she is," he managed to say and I groaned in frustration. "Ryan, what are you doing here?" I asked, trying to keep my voice calm. "I heard about the halfling," he replied, stepping out of the shadows. "I came to offer my help." I raised an eyebrow in surprise. Ryan had lost the Alpha title to me a few years ago, and he'd never been one to offer help without expecting something in return. "What's the catch?" I asked suspiciously. "No catch," Ryan said, holding up his hands in a gesture of innocence. "I just want to help. The halfling is important to our pack, and we need to find out what happened to her." I hesitated for a moment, considering his offer. Ryan and I had never gotten along, but if he was telling the truth and wanted to help, I couldn't afford to turn him away. "Fine," I said finally. "But don't expect me to trust you completely." Ryan nodded, and we set off to find out what had happened to the halflin
Alpha Chase's Pov My heart sank at his words, and anger boiled inside me. "Heavens know I would find whoever caused this," I gritted. Who would do such a thing? And why? My mind raced as I tried to come up with answers, but none seemed to make sense. "Can't you do anything to save her?" I asked the doctor, my voice impatient. "I am going to do everything I can," he replied, "but the poison has already spread too far. I'm sorry, but I don't think there's much hope." I looked at the girl lying on the bed. She looked so fragile, so innocent, and yet someone had deliberately harmed her just like I wanted to but who got to get before me? "Such a weakling. Despite your powerful family background you still could not defend yourself," I spat at her half lifeless body. I rolled my eyes, feeling nonchalant about her health although wanted her to die, but by my hands. "Take her away! If you treat her and she recovers then fine, you can bring her back to me. But if she doesn't, give her a
In the Hospital. Trying to find another way to save the girl, the doctor left. Suddenly, the machines monitoring Royal's vital signs began to beep loudly, indicating a sudden drop in her heart rate. The doctors and nurses rushed to her side, trying desperately to revive her, and after a long time of trying and trying, she was breathing again but still unconscious. The doctor, frustrated by the turn out of events and unsure of what to do placed a call to the Alpha to inform him of her condition but he didn't pick up the call. After hours of trying to reach the Alpha with no response, he decided to call the Beta, hoping to get a response from him. "Beta Simon, I'm the doctor treating the halfling from the pack house. I have news on her," he paused hoping for the Beta to say something before he continued. The Beta's voice crackled through the phone, "Yes, Doctor. What news do you have?" "I'm afraid her condition has worsened, and we're doing everything we can to keep her stable,
In the hospital. The doctor took a deep breath and pushed all his doubts aside. He knew that he couldn't let his fear hold him back from doing what was right. He had taken an oath to serve and protect all those who needed his help, and he wasn't about to break it. With a steady hand, the doctor injected the antidote into the girl's arm and waited anxiously for any signs of improvement. In a short while, the girl's breathing became less labored, and color returned to her cheeks. The doctor let out a sigh of relief, knowing that the antidote was working. He went into his office and his phone rang a few minutes after. It was a strange number and the doctor knew it was the anonymous man from earlier. "Hello, Doctor. How is the girl?" the man asked. "She's doing much better now, thanks to the antidote you provided. I can't thank you enough for your help," the doctor replied. "I'm glad to hear that she's improving. But there's something else you need to know," the man said, his voice
Pack House, Royal's POV. It felt like years since I last opened my eyes, and when I did, my head throbbed with pain and my vision was blurry. I struggled to adjust my eyesight to the brightness of the room and then to focus, but everything seemed hazy and distorted. I felt like I was in a dream, but I knew this was all too real. "What happened?" I asked myself. As my vision cleared, I realized that I was lying in a bedroom and not in a hospital room, but hooked up to various machines and monitors. Panic set in as I tried to remember what had happened to me. The last thing I remembered was feeling sharp pain and fainting after someone came to save me from the rain. Suddenly, a nurse rushed into the room, a look of concern on her face. "Oh, you're awake!" she exclaimed, checking the machines and monitors. "How are you feeling now? Are you feeling any discomfort or pain?" she asked and I could not answer. I was not in full control of my body. "Do you know what happened to you?" She a
Royal's POV The Alpha stared at me and seemed to sense my unease, but he didn't make any move to leave. Instead, he stood up and walked over to my bed, his eyes never leaving mine. I felt like prey trapped under the gaze of a predator. "Royal the halfling, you seem scared?" He asked and I looked at him with squinted eyes before lowering my gaze. "Is it because of me or the girl who bullied you and kicked you out?" He asked indifferently like his words held little value. "What do you mean?" I asked back with a calm voice not wanting to make him feel challenged. "I'm perfectly fine. I am not scared of anyone. What happened to me was an accident while I was looking for something that fell outside. No one bullied me," I answered, hoping he would end this conversation and walk himself out of the room. "Royal, in case you are not aware, your presence in the pack house is under my command. And I brought you here for a special reason," he said with an increasing voice. "You have no rea
ALPHA CHASE'S POV "I can't say, but you have a chance to take her back…" he said and I admired his honesty. After eating, we headed back to the hospital room pending the time Simon prepared a room for him in the pack house since he planned on staying. As Rico and I sat in Royal's hospital room, waiting anxiously for any news about her condition, we heard a knock at the door and we saw two women, with a baby. "Mother? Devi? Asher?" Rico called out in surprise and together with Aiden, they ran out with smiles on their faces. "Grandmother, Auntie!” Aiden beamed as he stretched to carry the little one. Curious, I walked outside too. "Alpha Chase," both women greeted in unison. "How is she?" the older lady inquired, her voice trembling with worry. "We're expecting good news," I answered, still waiting for an introduction, which Alpha Rico did. "Lady Loretta, Luna Devi, thank you for coming. The doctors are running tests to determine what's causing her condition." They asked me if
ALPHA CHASE'S POV"Really?" I chuckled. "So nice of them to do me a favor by coming to me directly! Prepare the men!" I ordered and with a nod, he left. Making sure not to disturb my mate and son, I took out a few clothes for battle and then headed out. As I stepped out of the elevator, I cracked my knuckles, a wicked smile playing on my lips. Been so long since the bloodthirsty Alpha went to battle. As I led my pack members out to confront the rogue wolves who dared to breach our territory and threaten us, I felt confident even though it was unplanned. To avoid anyone getting hurt, my warriors and I had no choice but to confront these intruders head-on before they got to the bustling area of the pack.We finally met them and as I looked at the intruders, I couldn't help but notice a familiar face among them. ROYAL'S POV:"If you love yourself and your son, come alone!" The second message read.Without another word, I left the room, my steps echoing through the empty hallways as I made my way to the warehouse on the abandoned Omega Road. My every heartbeat was a drumming reminder of my desperation, pushing me to reach Aiden as quickly as possible. When I reached the abandoned building, my heart pounded in my chest. The darkness and silence that surrounded it sent a shiver down my spine. But I couldn't afford to hesitate. I took a deep breath and pushed open the creaking door, my senses alert for any sign of danger.Inside, the dimly lit interior revealed a horrifying sight. There, in the middle of the warehouse, I saw my son, Aiden, bound and gagged, tears streaming down his little face. My heart clenched at the sight, and I rushed to his side, my own tears mingling with his as I untied him. "My baby,” I whispered."Mommy!" ROYAL'S POVIn my frantic state, I clung to Alpha Chase, tears streaming down my face as I struggled to catch my breath. My heart was a storm of fear and anguish, and all I could think of was our precious Aiden, taken away from us by cruel and unknown hands.Alpha Chase's eyes were wide with shock and concern as he held me close. "How did this happen, Royal? Tell me everything," he pleaded, his voice filled with urgency.Taking a shaky breath, I recounted the horrifying events. "We were on our way to the Silver Lining pack. Aiden was asleep in my lap in the backseat. Suddenly, a group of masked men ambushed us. They were armed, and there was nothing we could do. They forced me out of the car and... hit me then they took Aiden with them," I choked on my words, reliving the traumatic moment.Alpha Chase's jaw clenched in anger as he processed the information. "We will find them," he vowed, his voice filled with determination to save his son "Simon, we need to act fast. Gather our best t
Alpha Chase's POVShe left. The one woman who gave me peace. The one woman who broke my curse, the mother of my child left!Watching the vehicle which carried Royal and our son Aiden away, brought immense pain to my heart. As the sound of Royal's car faded into the distance, I couldn't help but feel empty. The days I spent with Royal and Aiden were more than magical. Now, with her gone, I was left with a void that seemed impossible to fill. "I told you to tell her, didn't I?" my angry wolf scolded. "If I did, she'd have packed her things and left that instant. I didn't know last night would happen and I would be so trapped that I would spill it all…" I answered.I sighed heavily and went back to my home. To the grand doors of the six-story pack house. Royal's POVWith those words, Chase came into my room, horny and ready to devour me whole. I, on the other hand, was prepared for him no matter how much I lied to myself. I wanted him, and only him.Just like old times, his hand touched me in all the sweet and weak spots and the feeling was heavenly. He kissed me with so much desire, that I could feel myself submitting to him when he had not even started anything yet."Just fuck me already," I screamed in my subconscious but didn't dare to say it out. Why rush what I'd enjoy throughout the night? A few minutes into foreplay, I regretted my decision as I tried so hard to push him away while he ate me out. His tongue, his lips, his fingers, everything! I was so lost in the pleasure, that my moans disappeared, replaced by gasps and shudders. One command from him and more juice dripped from my insides and I lay there like a goddess being worshiped.Once he satisfied himself and turned my legs to jelly, he spread my legs, positioning his
Royal's POV As our lips locked once again, my mind raced with conflicting emotions. This was Chase, the Alpha who sent me away. He didn't believe me when I was all alone. But now, something changed between us, and I couldn't ignore the intensity of the feelings rushing through me.As we kissed, my heart battled with my rational mind. I pulled away gently, breaking the kiss, and a heavy silence hung in the air. My heart pounded in my chest, and I could see the confusion mirrored in Chase's eyes."Silver," he whispered, his voice soft and uncertain. "I... I don't know what just happened, but I can't ignore how I feel about you."My breath hitched, and I took a step back, creating some distance between us. "Chase, I can't deny that there's something between us, but we can't act on it. We've been through so much together, and I don't want to jeopardize our friendship."He sighed, running a hand through his hair in frustration. "But Royal, what if we're meant to be more than just friends?
Royal's Pov Taking a deep breath, I knelt down to be at eye level with Aiden. Before I could answer, Alpha Chase blurted out, "Yes I am your father!"The words hung in the air, and for a moment, me and Aiden both stared at Alpha Chase in utter surprise. The crackling of the fire seemed to echo the shock that just enveloped us."Chase," I said softly, her voice a mix of disbelief and confusion.Chase winked at me then turned to Aiden with eyes filled with determination, "I know I should have told you both sooner, but I wanted to make sure it was the right time. Aiden, you are my son, and I've always been watching over you from afar."Aiden's eyes widened, a whirlwind of emotions washing over him. "You're my father? But... why didn't you tell me before?"Chase knelt down next to me and placed a hand on Aiden's shoulder. "I wanted to keep you and your mother safe. There were dangerous forces that threatened us, and I thought it was best to stay away until we could ensure your safety."
Third person povThose words struck Royal like a thunderbolt. She didn't prepared herself for the possibility that Alpha Chase might not remember himself or their past together. Her heart sank, but she pushed her emotions aside and put on a reassuring smile."That's okay," she said softly, trying to keep her voice steady. "You've been through a lot. It's normal to feel disoriented. Just focus on resting and recovering."Alpha Chase nodded weakly, seemingly accepting her words without further question. He struggled to sit up, and Royal quickly moved to assist him.Since he was the only one who needed treatment, Royal decided to stay back and watch him.Although Rico and Devi were not happy with the decision to stay with Chase after everything, they understood what she wanted. As the first rays of the morning sun cascaded through the windows, Royal stepped into the cozy living room of her humble abode to meet Chase.
