Alpha Chase's POV

The words slipped out of my lips, heavy with sorrow and hurt.

Everyone gasped and tears began to fall from their cheeks. "Mother!” A young woman cried, leaning on others as she broke down.

The news of the woman quickly spread, and soon everyone in the gathering was mourning the loss of the old woman who was a wise and cherished member of the community.

The wolves howled mournfully into the night, revealing our loss.

As the night wore on, I couldn't help but feel haunted as the woman didn't finish her sentence. Was this the old witch playing pranks on me?

The idea of breaking the curse that had haunted me for so long filled me with hope, but I didn't know where to start and now that the moon was up, it was time to cry in agony.
