Alexia's pov
My lips released a shuddering breath as Kayla dumped down a whole can of soda over my head before tossing the empty bottle down.
Bam!
Her legs connected with my face and I was sent flying back. I urged my wolf to shift, but as usual, she did not even speak back.
My classmates cheered and roared with laughter as Kayla matched right up to me and grabbed my hair before shoving my head face first to the wall and letting go of me so I could fall back on the ground again.
I coughed as I scrambled up on my hands and knees, seeing my own blood on the floor. I raise my eyes to meet the hate and pure disdain in my sister's eyes as she towered over me with her two friends standing at either side of her, smirking down evilly at me.
I sigh as Kayla grabbed me up again before I met with her eyes boring holes into mine.
"Admit it Alexia. You're pathetic… a useless pathetic loser… " with rhatz she lifted me off the ground and threw me across the floor where I went straight for a locker, breaking by nose in the process.
It's been like that since I was born. My father, the Beta just thought that I was a late spurt and might get my wolf later on in my early teens, but now, I was 18, and I couldn't even shift like my mates who were proudly full fledged werewolves.
You could say I was a human, and for someone who the daughter of the Beta, I was a disgrace, and of course, it didn't take my father long enough to disown me, and my rights as Beta was given to my younger sister Kayla who had a wolf, could shift and was the complete opposite of me.
She was beautiful, confident, a proud peacock, had many friends at school, got invited to a lot of oarties, had her own car from dad who adored and worshipped her, and she was dating the Alpha twins!
Her life was the perfect life you could almost want to envy, but I really wished they'd all leave me alone in peace.
Kayla would never cease to stop reminding me how worthless I was and how I would never get a mate and die alone.
The roars of laughter filled my ears as I got up and wiped the blood trickling down my nose, staggering on my two legs, hoping this was all over so I could go back home to my room in the basement and cry myself to sleep.
"You should just go live with the humans, Alexia. it's not like you're worth anything here… you have no place here."
Her words stung me, each word striking me to my chest so hard that I wanted to crouch there and cry, but I would never give her the satisfaction of seeing me vunerable before her.
Soon, the bell rang for school over, and everyone dispersed, leaving me standing there, sobbing with blood running down my nose.
Another day, another failure.
I grab my bag off the floor and walk out the school premises, seeing people In groups of two, three and four. I sigh heavily, feeling a painful sensation in my chest as I head back home, seeing Kayla get in her car with her friends before driving away, ensuring I literally ate dust before it zoomed off into the streets.
I stared up at the moon which was full and bright at this time of the night, and I felt a dreary feeling coursing through my veins as I take my usual lonely path down the forest.
It was the shortest route home and I took this route everyday, but today, we closed up late because we were cleaning the lab and now it was past 8, everyone had left for their homes and I was walking all alone on this empty path.
My shoes rustled and broke branches and dey leaves underneath my soles as I walked, and my hand tightened around the hand of my pack back as I walked quickly only to hear the howl of a wolf.
Gasping, I Increased my pace, staring round in horror when I heard another howl and realized just how close the werewolves were.
Please, I hope I hadn't run into rogues. I prayed to the moon goddess as I tore through thick bushes, jumping logs of wood just to ensure I left the forest in time.
I didn't stand a chance against a wolf, especially not at this time when it was a full moon night. That was when they were at their strongest and I definitely did not stand a chance against them.
Suddenly, just when I thought this night was all over and I would get home in no time, a wolf suddenly leaped high in the air and landed right Infront of me.
My pack back fell to the ground in shock, and my eyes widened with horror clear in them as it began walking towards me, slowly, cunningly, like a predator stalking its prey.
Except, this predator looked like it was ready to eat me alive. It was over 3 feet tall while bent over, it's fur was as black as the night with large, narrowed honey colored eyes boring holes into mine.
"No…no no no no… " I whispered and I try to make a run for it, but another wolf, similar to the first one barred my path, and I swallowed seeing them two of them, circling me, their predatory eyes running over my frame which trembled. The other had his upper lip curled over his teeth, exposing his sharp cannines which dripped of saliva.
I didn't know what to do at that point but start crying. I couldn't run because it was no use, and I couldn't fight back… that was pointless too. Was I really just going to stand here and get eaten alive by wolves?
Suddenly one growled, and with its hind limbs leaving the ground, It leaped right at me.
Alexia's povMy heart felt straight from my chest, up my heart when the last thing I saw was the wolf before I was trapped on the ground, being held down my its paws sinking it's claws into my shoulders, drawing blood."Arghh!!" With my lips parted, I draw my knees up and growl in pain and agony, but suddenly the wolf on the other side shape shifted right Infront of me, and the next second, I didn't see a wolf but a young man who went straight for the wolf right above me and dragged it aside."Michael stop… " he said, and just as the wolf was forced off me, I scrambled backwards immediately and with horror in my eyes, I watched as the guy held the wolf in a head lock and tried to subdue it.The wolf thrashed around for some time, but soon, I heard bones cracking as it shape shifted and retuned back to a guy, and by the time I got up, I recognized that they were twins, having almost the same identical features except that one had much longer hair than the other.Their hair was blonde a
Michael's povEven If she couldn't tell we were her mates, and couldn't feel the mate bond, I could smell her arousal when I touched her.She was so sensitive and reacted very quickly to even the slightest whisper in her ear, and I confirmed she was untouched. The scent of her blood on her shoulder and her mate scent of chocolate was so delicious I felt like eating her between her legs and finding out if she'd really tastes like she scented.Miles and I didn't even intend for this to happen. We were headed out for a night hunt which was what we did like two times a week to clear our head from the stress of work in the mornings, and that's when we met her.We had assumed she was a rogue since she didn't have any scent on her, so I had moved in for the first kill, but suddenly Miles was pulling me back and it was when I had shape shifted back to human, I had realized something was wrong somewhere. She had no scent or evidence of a wolf, yet we could feel our blood boil as it coursed thr
Mile's povI could smell the rage in Jenna's eyes as Michael pulled her back, and the relief in Marshall's eyes as she held her chest and sighed."What's going on here?" Micha demanded, his cold eyes fixed on Kayla."Your sister is what's going on here… does she realize that I'm about to become her Luna in a couple of months?"Michael and I rolled our eyes at her words but Jenna bluntly scoffed."I would rather be enstranged from the pack than have you as the Luna, you over bearing brat.. ""Did you just… " Kayla suddenly went after her, but I pulled her back again."It's been like this for the past hour.. " Ciara said, her arms folded as she glared at Kayla."What happened?" Michael asked again, but in a much colder tone."Babes…" Kayla's voice suddenly softened as she turned to me and Michael, looking so vunerable, you wouldn't think she could hurt a fly. Jenne scoffed and went to stand right next to Marshall while Ciara rolled her eyes."You guys know my birthday is coming up in a
Alexia's povI was sitting alone in the cafeteria trying to eat while reading a book when I heard my name."ALEXIA!!!"My heart dropped to the bottom of my stomach and everyone looked at me, wondering my Kayla had yelled my name that way.She usually hated me, but she sounded so mad right now that I wondered what I had done to her.I see her come into the cafeteria, her eyes burning with rage, her hands squeezed tightly into a fist.I gulp and Stand up, intending to ask her what I did wrong, but she suddenly threw a punch at me, and I went flying across my table, over the air down to the ground."Lock the cafeteria doors … " Sasha, one of Kayla's friend said and I heard the door being shut immediately. My vision blurred as I forced myself to stand, seeing my schoolmates gather round a circle, beaming and smirking, obviously enjoying what was going on.I gasp as I was held up and I saw two guys holding me at either sides of my arm, smiling at Kayla who was taking off her school bag to
Alexia's POV Kayla's eyes were bloodshot as Michael pinned her tightly against the wall, holding her by her neck. She wanted to wriggle out his grip but Michael wasn't letting. She grasped his wrist, wrenching it to let go but he didn't flinch a bit. His eyes were filled with wrath, it was as though he should destroy Kayla at that moment, by suffocating her to death. Was all these because of me? This was a very big surprise, I would say this would be the very first time in my lifetime that life was favoring me. I had never been supported or defended by anyone in my life, I was always criticized, castigated and thrashed. These twin wolves were treating me like a goddess and the feeling was so overwhelming. They were defending me so affectionately that I forgot all the beatings Kayla had given me before they arrived. I looked at the guy who was carrying me in his arm with love, he smiled at me as our eyes met, I wanted to send back the smile to make him feel good but I found mysel
Alexia's POV Oops! Karla found her way out before anyone could notice... How smart! She had escaped amidst the commotion. She seemed too smart for her own good, not bad. But did she think, she wouldn't be found if they wanted her to be? I waited for the twins to decide. I leant on the wall behind me, my body was still aching from the punches I received from Karla but I did not want to show my pain to them, especially after compelling Mills to drop me. Michael advanced towards Daniel, he was down on the floor, gasping for breath, moving backwards as Michael approached, every part of his face was red, swollen and bleeding, his eyeballs were behind the sockets. Michael crouched to his level with a cold smile on his face. He gripped him by his shirt and sat him up to prop against the wall of the corner he was. "You are such a lovely, loyal supporter of Karla. It really shows from your actions and I love the way you supported her despite knowing the kind of person she is... You dese
Alexia POV "But wait, why did you bring her to our house?" I heard and disengaged myself from Marshall's embrace and looked up to see who just spoke. It was Jenne! "When the three of you rushed out of the house this morning, did you go to fetch her?" Doesn't she want me to stay in the house? I gulped down as I awaited the rest of the tests. I glanced at the faces of each of them, no one said anything, their faces were expressionless and my heart began to race. It was racing so fast that my palms began to sweat. "Marshall, Jenne... You can't believe what happened to Alexia today. If we hadn't gone to her school, I wonder what they would have make of her." Mills walked forward to the duo, whose eye brows were raised high, sending questioning looks at the two. It was obvious they didn't have any idea of what was going on, they didn't inform them that they were coming to my school. "What happened to her?" Marshall and Jenne asked him simultaneously, and t
Michael's POV I stood at the entrance of the pack-house, looking out to see if they were already coming. Mills and Ciara had gone to the fetch the healers themselves but why were they taking so long to arrive or was I the one so impatient? This was all my fault, I should have paid more attention to Alexia herself. She was now our responsibility and yet we still failed to fulfil it in a right way. When I saw that there was no sign of them anywhere, I ran back to the room where Alexia was. She was still laying there, not opening her eyes. I ran my fingers through my hair and ran out of the room again to check if they were on their way but then, I collided with someone making my stagger back. "Are you blind?" I shouted angrily and looked up to see Mills, Ciara and three healers behind them. "Calm down Michael, what's wrong with you?" Mills held me. "Please come in healers, she had lost her consciousness... You need to treat her as fast as you can." I pulled the elde
