Alexia's POV I sneezed and jerked my head forward as my eyes fluttered open at the rays of the sun, I wiped my eyes and looked around. These people were here again. The healers. I was so sick of the scent of the herbs that I was always forced to drink, or mixtures that they always applied on my forehead said to cool my head and the ointment they always applied on the surfaces of the wound on my skin. I just couldn't complain as it was for my own well-being. As far as I could remember, I had been laying on this bed for over three days now. And whenever I opened my eyes, I would always see those bald oldies in front of me as if they never left for their house, only if they ever did. I slowly sat up, leaning myself against the headboard and turned towards the youngest amongst the three, who was coming to add something to me. "Are you guys not done?" I asked him calmly and he shook his head with a little smile that immediately disappeared when the eldest man looked at him. I wa
Ciara's POV I had only given out the smallest part of the whole. Kayla is my target and until I get hold of her, I wouldn't leave her. I and some of the soldiers went to the Knights, we made enquiries about her but no one seemed to have seen her recently. We wouldn't give up. We continued to ask people and also showing her image until we found this guy, who seemed to have seen her before. "Yes, did you say you have seen her some where?" I was eager and impatient now. Her days are numbered, but she wasn't even aware. I didn't want to put the man in a confused state of doubts so I calmed my nerve. "Yes, I saw her. But wait, who are you guys and why are you looking for her?" This man was getting suspicious of us. If we fuck up any time we might lose all informations about her whereabouts. "We are... are.. her..." I couldn
Ciara's POV "Who are you guys?" I queried, my voice almost quivering but it wasn't so obvious. I intentionally didn't want to show my fear so they wouldn't think we were weak and wouldn't be able to fight them. I waited for their answer but they didn't speak, rather they were glaring with their resentment filled eyes. "Tell me you... What are you doing here? Clear the road, we want to leave... If you have anything to say, come to my pack-house." Then one of them smiled grimly, taking a few steps forward. "Why should we come to your pack-house when you won't even make it back to the pack? In case you don't know, let me tell you... We have come to kill you. Nothing else." My heart jumped into my throat. They were really here to get us killed? But why? Who were they and who could have sent them after us. I needed to summon the Alphas now... Just as I was about to link our mind, I heard another scream of my soldiers, collapsing from the horse. They just shot him.
Alexia's POV I sat on my bed all alone in the very huge and beautifully decorated chamber, thanks to the healers and their herbs, it was really helpful, I was almost feeling no more pain except from the side of my stomach... I was thinking about my father, how he would be feeling right now. I really didn't get to understand my father enough before he made me his big time enemy. I didn't know if he would feel my absence and worried or would be happy that I was finally gone but I still missed him. I remembered when I was still young, those times he and Kayla didn't have problems with me... The way he usually protected me and care for me, but now he believed that I could never bring him something that would make him proud. Perhaps he was right. I would think then because I ahd already lost all hopes. Now, I was going to become the Luna of such a great and powerful pack, I didn't know how he would react to that. This was an achievement but I was sure he would prefer Kayla in this
Kayla's POV These people should be done by now... What was taking them so long? I hoped they hadn't ran into any trouble. It was late already and I had begun to get nervous. I had been waiting for them for the past three hours expecting them to come pass the good news to me but it seemed something was wrong somewhere. I sat back on the log, checking my wrist watch now and then and suddenly I heard the gallop of some quadruped. They were coming to my direction. I stood up excitedly and saw them coming. At last, they were here. The wolves shifted as they got to where I was. "What took you so long? I gave you a very simple task and you used over four hours to cover it up? Did something else happened there?" I asked the leader. I had sent him to go block Ciara and warn her to stop coming after me, I didn't expect them to take so long. "Were you able to get to Ciara!?" I yelled but none of them answered me. They kept their gaze low and continued mumbling something I couldn't
Alexia's POV Changing my direction to the opposite side on the bed, the rays of the early morning golden sun which penetrated in from the external window of the chamber fell upon my face, stinging through my eyelids to my eyes. I was still feeling sleepy, I didn't want to get up from the bed, so I didn't want to open my eyes. I sluggishly changed my direction to the other side that was cool hoping to continue sleeping peacefully but then again, the beam of the sunlight fell upon my face from the second window, probably this sun really didn't want me to continue sleeping, I thought and I had to give up. I yawned loudly and tried to sit up to gather myself but I could not. I felt kinda very heavy, my entire body was if tied down to a huge rock, I could not carry my arms and my legs. I shot my eyes open, terrified of what was suddenly happening to me and then my eyes fell upon those two smirking faces beside me, one was pinning my arms to the bed and the other was pinning my legs dow
Alexia's POV "Why does she have to go to school now? You know how dangerous her sister is... I don't think going to school is an option for now, we can't take any risk." Miles disagreed. Marshall had asked them to let me continue my schooling because of the graduation that was around the corner but they seemed to be very insecure. They believed Kayla would take an advantage. Maybe they were right but it was also not right if I didn't go to school. If my dad didn't say anything about it now he was definitely going to talk about it later. I was also scared of Kayla but I wouldn't let that stop me. Not when the graduation ceremony was at the corner. "Marshall is right. We should let her finish her study once and for all, she is going to be our future Luna after all, she needs to be a learned." Jenna added. "Not just that... We also have to set a trap for Kayla. If Kayla finds out that her sister has returned to school, I am certain she will want to take an advantage of that
Alexia's POV We arrived at my high-school in twelve minutes, got down from the car and waved goodbye at them before entering the two silver doors that lead inside my school but I could feel their eyes still glued on me as I entered so I didn't bother to look back, not even when the strict gatekeeper was at the gate. I didn't want to create a scene that would inform everyone about my presence. I begin to walk to my first period class, Biology, one of my favorite subject, when I heard a girl's voice calling out from behind. My heart skipped a beat as I failed to recognize whose the voice was. I shuddered in what I believe was trepidation and slowly turned around to see who had called my name. I didn't expect anyone to recognize me this way. "Hey! Wait up.. Where are you rushing to?"I turned around and saw the person I regard as my best friend jogging over towards me. She was the only one in the entire school, who always tried to understand even when she didn't have a clue. S
