I tried to conceal the curious and excited look on my face as I drove back to the house with Kristen. It didn't help that she was holding onto my hands, the action was both domesticated and surprising. It was the first time she has done acts like that.

"Sorry, I had to call you over so urgently," I uttered as we drove.

"Shh," Kristen whispered while doing her hand gesture of me shutting up, "I am enjoying the silence. We will talk when we are home and just for the record, I am not angry at all. I'm glad you called me."

I nodded because I understood the feeling of what she was saying, I felt the same emotions too, I felt good that she was here all through this.

I felt justified.

We drove quietly, and something kind of made me realize that we were definitely going to skip work today. I don't know what Kristen wanted to talk to me about but it sounded serious and by the way, her hand was sweaty while she held my hands showed that she was nervous too.
