I needed to talk to Sky before they left work today, but the problem was how I was going to get alone, without Kristen being aware of it. The question I was going to be asking Sky was meant to be a surprise to Kristen and it will not be nice if she got a whiff of it.

It would ruin the surprise.

And also, I felt weird, ever since Kristen stepped out of the room an unsettled emotion gnawed on my throat. I did not comprehend why I suddenly felt like that, everything had gone well, and the conversations we had flowed quite naturally, and even the little banter we had was fun.

But ever since I lifted my gaze and realized that the sound I had heard earlier was the sound of the door closing after she left the room, that empty sickening feeling seemed to come at me, almost overwhelming me.

But I needed to clear my head, in the next two days I will be accompanying Kristen to do her daily checkups in the hospital, even though I still don't know if the pregnancy belongs to me
