*The next morning*

Stacy woke up feeling weak. She had waited for Jerome to return yesterday but he didn't and she dozed off. She planned to ask for the divorce last night.

Her eyes were puffy and her hair messy as managed to pull herself from the bed.

Jerome was not in the room, she started getting worried that something had happened to him.

She went to the bathroom and washed her face and brushed her teeth, then returned to find Jerome looking very excited.

She wanted to scream and hug him but she knew she couldn't.

She made her way to the bed and sat down.

"Good morning baby. I know you are angry with me and you have every right to. Yesterday was hectic and Ryan was doing everything possible worse for me, that was why I stayed late to wrap up his work. I'm sorry baby." Jerome explained.

"It's okay," Stacy replied and he was surprised by her response but decided to shrug it off.

"Look, baby, I got you pancakes for breakfast. You know, I still can't stop thinking about my birthday.
