"No! Why take such a thing with us? It'll just keep upsetting you," he remarked with a crease in his brow.

"Lambert, I have my reasons. Please respect my decision," Lydia pleaded with a hint of sorrow in her eyes.

Watching Lydia's pleading eyes, Lambert was finally defeated by her insistence. He thought better of it. After all, it was just a piece of clothing.

The guard quickly sought permission from the higher-ups upon Lydia's request, and upon learning that Lydia's request was granted, as she was Harlan's only kin.

As they walked out with Harlan's belongings, Lydia still seemed dazed, her dark eyes filled with confusion and weariness.
