Chapter 70

In the past, Lucas never would've said such things.

He used to have a bad temper and was always so cold to everyone. Now, however, he was a changed man. Chelsey wasn't quite yet used to it.

He sighed and said, "My brain is fine. But since I've had a near-death experience, I want to treat you well. I was wrong for everything that happened in the past."

"Are you sure this is considered treating me well?" Chelsey looked bemused. Lucas seemed to have the wrong idea about what it meant to "treat her well".

He gave her an innocent look. "But of course. What else could it be?"

Damn it, he was such a diva.

"Alright, that's enough!" Chelsey begged. "Please, save me from this torture!"

Lucas suddenly looked downtrodden. He said wanly, "Okay. I won't say anything else."

"Good."

Chelsey finally had some peace and quiet. She still preferred the old Lucas, the one who was cold and didn't speak much. She couldn't really handle the new Lucas, who flirted with her at every opportunity.
