"Thanks," Lucas said.

The corners of his mouth twitched.

Chelsey continued her rambling, "Don't forget to invite me to your wedding. I'm a witness to your love story."

"Okay," Lucas replied curtly.

He didn't feel like carrying on with this topic.

Chelsey then glanced downwards at his legs and asked, "Are your legs fully recovered?"

The doctor had once said that there was no cure for Lucas' legs. Who knew that a miracle like this could happen?

"Yeah," Lucas told her.

His legs were still hurting a lot. Yesterday, he could only take a couple of steps. Today, he had walked such a long distance solely for her.

His legs were hurting terribly. It was as though he had treaded through a road full of razor-sharp blades. Still, he endured it all and pulled through because of her.

He took one step after another. Despite how sluggish he was, he was determined to do it. Otherwise, she could lose her baby for good.
