Alessandra's POV
Lucy looked stunning in her green dress, which brought out her creamy skin, and dark hair.
The color complimented her truly.
With scoop-asymmetric neckline and lace-up details at the back of her dress, it hugged her body beautifully. A zipper on the side concealed, and the dress reached just above her knees. She completed her outfit with black pumps and just a few accessories.
I, on the other hand, wore a blue, sleeveless, heavyweight, luxe bandage dress featuring a sexy cut-out back. I completed it with a towering black heel and a contrasting clutch.
I worked my hair up and let a few hair locks fall on my face to give it shape and flaunt my slender back.
I wore silver dangling earrings and a silver watch.
Lucy made a poor whistling sound that made me giggle.
"You look hot," Lucy praised, skimming me up and down.
I grinned coyly. "You don't look bad yourself, Lucy!" I said, a teasing open admiration, and did the same, eyeing her up and down with a cheeky grin.
She does look stunning.
"Ready for our first clubbing in New York?" she exclaimed, grinning mischievously.
"Ready as I'll ever be!" I giggled as excitement was now filling my system.
I've got the freedom I've always wanted.
Her broad grin tells me she's as excited as I am.
It's so hard not to be affected by her contagious happiness. It's been a while since we both went bar hopping together, without brothers in tow.
Shortly, we were inside a cab, and the bar was just ten minutes away from our place.
We got there quickly, and the line was crazy long.
We saw Sheena beside the bouncer, waving at us when she spotted us behind a group who was waiting, too. We got in, and we were welcomed with blasting upbeat music, dim colorful lighting, and people conversing, laughing while drinking.
It was crazy packed.
I guess this is where all the people come every Friday night.
Sheena led us to where her friends were seated.
She introduced us to the girls once again. "Guys, I want you to meet Ali and Lucy. Ali works with Mr. Hernandez," she said in a loud voice so they could all hear over the blasting non-stop music.
"Ali and Lucy, this is Railey, Nazi, Shannon. And Shannon's boyfriend, Nico." Shifting her eyes between us.
"Oh, Rizza is at the bar," she added.
"Nice meeting you both," Nico smiled as he stood up and stretched out his hand.
Lucy took his hand for a brief handshake, and then I did the same. Then Sheryl stood up randomly, raised her glass, "to our new friends," she exclaimed, proposing a toast, and the glasses clinked.
"Wow, this bar is beautiful ... and packed," Lucy commented as loud as she could as she looked around her after the toast.
"It's always crazy here," Sheena bobbed her head up and down, agreeing. "I booked our reservation a month ago because it's hard to get in. Long Beach is one of the high-end bars here in New York, mostly from the elite society, you know?" she continued shrugging her shoulders.
"What?" We both exclaimed in unison, both wearing a surprised look. "Yes," Sheena grinned. "It's one of the fanciest and best bars in all of New York," Sheena explained, shrugging her shoulders nonchalantly.
She sounded like a frequent customer here.
"Well, ladies, what would you like me to get for you?" Nico butted in as he stood up. I snapped my head to him and smiled with appreciation.
"Pear Martini for me, please," I responded sheepishly.
I love vodka mixed with anything.
"Piñacolada for me," I heard Lucy reply sweetly.
Nico was back several minutes later with our drinks, and he sat next to Shannon, who looked stunning in her low-neckline black dress.
Nico handed me my drink, and I thanked him.
"So, Shannon, how long have you and Nico dated?" I asked out of the blue, trying to make a conversation.
Shannon looked at Nico with loving eyes, then averted back to me.
"Three years. We were childhood friends, and then one day, we just felt that we can't just be friends forever. So here we are."
They looked at each other with adoration.
"Wow, I would love my friend to be my boyfriend, too, but unfortunately, Ali can't be my boyfriend," Lucy joked, causing everyone to burst out laughing.
"But, seriously, you guys are lucky. You found each other," she sincerely added as she took her first sip.
"I agree," I said, nodding my head. "I believe that friendship is one of the main recipes of a good relationship," I added.
Shannon bobbed her golden head in agreement. "Trust and respect," she supplied, and we agreed.
"Damn!" Sheena giggled, staring at Lucy with mischief. My attention drew to her.
"There are a bunch of hot millionaires and billionaires here, Lucy," she winked at her. "This is the bar where most hot shots come to hang out and let loose," she added, grinning mischievously.
Lucy just smiled, but obviously, of little interest.
Perhaps for them, a place to get laid.
"So, Alessandra, are you dating anyone?" Railey asked.
Tearing my eyes away from Sheena, I gave her my attention.
"No," I replied while sipping my martini as I peered over the rim of my glass.
I wish I could get through with my three brothers' claws. I thought.
"How about you?" I asked, grinning.
Her smile withered.
"We just broke up," she begrudgingly responded, and glumly took her drinks and took several sips.
I suddenly felt a pang of sorry for her. My heart suddenly clenched for her.
"Oh ... I'm sorry," I muttered sympathetically, feeling guilty for bringing it up.
I saw the hurt in her eyes. I regretted asking. But then, I had no idea.
She just brushed it off. "It's fine. I'll get over him in time. Definitely," she confidently declared as she gave me a reassuring smile, and I smiled back, bobbing my head up and down in agreement.
Time heals.
I looked at the other girls, and my eyes trained on Sheena. Her cheeks were flustered.
Judging by her looks, she's already tipsy. She was on her feet, giggling uncontrollably while swaying her head with the beat.
"Anyone wants to dance?" She asked after, as she started dancing to the beat of the upbeat music played by the DJ from where she was standing.
"Later," Nazi replied.
She's kind of the quiet type, I noticed.
She looked really cute, with a deep dimple on her left cheek. Sheena pulled Railey, who squealed in surprise, but didn't protest as she let Sheena lead her to the dance floor, packed with gyrating drunk crowd.
Then Rizza rose from her seat and followed them, staggered a bit as she hit the dance floor. Then soon after, Shannon and Nico followed them, hand in hand.
Rizza downed the last drop of her drinks, and she followed the group, giggling as she swayed, and bumped at anyone on her way.
The group soon were dancing and grinding on each other.
"I need to go to the washroom, Ali. Would you mind staying here?" I heard Lucy say, causing me to snap my head at her.
"No. Go ahead," I smiled reassuringly, inclining my head to the side, motioning her to go.
She stood up, and I watched her as she slung her small purse on her shoulder and strutted off.
Minutes passed, contentedly watching the girls on the dancefloor, I noticed my glass was almost empty.
I swigged the remaining content and decided to go to the bar.
I scooted to the edge of the curved couch, then stood up, and made a beeline to the bar to get another drink.
Tonight, I'll have some fun.
................
Stavros' POV
It was crazy busy inside once I got in. My eyes automatically scanned the area looking for my friend particularly. He is usually sitting in our favorite spot, but I didn't see him there or anywhere.
I strolled aimlessly across the crowded room with my eyes scanning each guest until I spotted someone familiar.
A certain green-eyed I've been trying to get out of my mind.
My heart suddenly beats like a goddamn drum, too loud I could hear it in my ears so loud, it felt deafening. Feeling the butterflies were set off inside my stomach. I find it weird. I've never felt it before.
For some reason, I felt giddy. Excitement filled me overwhelmingly, and the possessive part of me, which I realized I had in me, nagged at me persistently.
She's sitting alone on one of the lounges, animatedly watching people dancing, all smiling while sipping her drink. She looks like she's enjoying herself.
I was about to walk in her direction when someone patted my shoulder from behind. I grunted in frustration as I swiveled around furiously, scowling at the intruder.
Alex looked amused as he cocked his eyebrow. "Looks like you're ready to murder someone," he commented amusedly, and I gave him another hard scowl which he just brushed off.
"Come on. The same lounge. Rick just went to the bathroom," he exclaimed a bit louder so I could hear him, ignoring my irritation. He's used to my temper.
"I'll just grab a drink at the bar," I scowled, still annoyed.
He just shrugged his shoulders nonchalantly.
"Sure."
And with that, he walked away, heading to the lounge in a corner. With a good view of the whole dancing floor since the area is elevated.
I averted my eyes back to where my Alessandra's direction, but the table was empty.
I frantically looked around as I uttered a string of profanities.
"Fuck!" I hissed.
Frustrations bubbled up in my system.
I vehemently strode towards the bar to get a drink, trying to calm my temper.
As I made my way to the bar, I bumped into the last person I wanted to see. "Stavros, darling," Trina purred as she batted her false lashes.
If only I could run in the opposite direction, but not possible with the crowded room. I will have to squeeze my way out.
I faced her, hiding the disgust on my face.
Trina owns a modeling company. She used to be a model, and she's just a year older than me. I know she's been hitting on me since we met. It all started when I started dating. I meant bedding some of her models.
I can't deny that she still looks desirable.
She looked hot in her skimpy, body-hugging silk dress, showing off her slender curves.
With red pouted lips, and full breasts, no man in their right mind would deny the free taste. Cause of her deep, plunging neckline, I could see half of her big breast already peeking through.
I never find myself getting turned on by her sexual innuendo. And the last thing I wanted to have, is a clingy, desperate woman.
"How have you been, Stav?" she asked, forcing out a sexy, flirty tone.
"Never felt better," I replied flatly, not hiding the disapproval of her presence, but she didn't seem to get it.
She linked her arm around my waist to my chagrin.
I could smell her strong perfume, which made me feel gagging.
I bit back my tongue, not wanting to hurt her feelings. I couldn't be rude to a woman, not my kind.
"Well, it's nice seeing you," I said dismissively while furtively untangling her hand off my waist.
"Would you like to join us at our table, darling? The girls would be ecstatic to see you," she purred instead, still not getting the hint that I don't want her presence.
No, thank you! I scoffed at the back of my head.
Frowning at her, I spoke calmly. "I'm sorry, Trina, but I have to talk to Rick and Alex. Important matters," with a sternness into it, stressing the last words. She finally caved in.
I walked away as soon as her hand was off of me without waiting for her response.
To my annoyance, more women were trying to get my attention on my way to the bar.
My eyes swept the crowd, still looking for Alessandra, but I didn't see her anywhere. Frustrations grew as the time tick by.
I ordered my usual drink, jack on the rock, and soon joined Alex at our lounge.
"So Russo, are you still dating that Russian girl?" I asked, staring at him amused, temporarily setting Alessandra at the back of my head.
I've heard about him taking that girl on a dinner multiple times, which is unusual, knowing him so well.
They have the same feathers, reason why they are friends. Friends think alike, perhaps.
We both don't believe in love.
"Planning to tie the knot soon?" I teased.
He scowled at me. "Yeah right!" he snorted sarcastically.
"She's back to Russia, dude. I didn't hear anything from her ever since I told her I can't be what she wants," he burst out into laughters.
We were talking about our past relationships, and we just laughed at every experience we had during our Harvard days.
Then, I suddenly felt the need to go to the washroom. I excused myself and made my way at the very back, behind the long bar.
My eyes unconsciously ran through the crowd in the bar. The girl with a slender back caught my full attention. I stared at her smooth, glowing skin exposed from the backless dress, I knew instantly it's her.
I couldn't take my eyes off her back.
The need to empty my bladder was all but forgotten.
When she turned her head to look at the man beside her, I stiffened, and I could feel my blood rushing through my veins.
I suddenly felt the irritation growing within me. My hands unconsciously curled into a tight ball.
Alessandra? My heart suddenly stopped.
My jaws tightly clenched as I watched the guy on her right, talking to her animatedly, obviously trying to hit on her, but she was too innocent to notice his intention.
"She's mine, asshole!" I hissed as I purposely strode towards her.
She looked entertained by the guy. She was laughing at whatever he had said, which sets my blood to boil with anger. A powerful urge to beat the man out to death stirred within me.
I strode purposefully over to the bar, and sat on the bar stool on her left, forgetting about going to the washroom. I propped both elbows on the counter, leaning forward.
The bartender approached me immediately, as soon as he recognized me. "Mr. Demakis, what would you like me to get for you, sir?" Jayson smiled. "The usual, Jayson," I replied briefly.
I simply looked at her and caught her staring at me, rather gaping.
Her cute eyes are as big as a button in utter surprise.
"Hello, Alessandra. Fancy to see you here!" I exclaimed, feigning a surprised look, then grinned widely.
She promptly composed herself.
"Mr. Demakis!" she almost squeaked. "It's nice to see you, too," she hesitantly added as she forced a smile.
The man beside her was still trying to get her attention, and I felt the urge to swing my fist and hit him in the face as hard as I could, but I held it back, not wanting to ruin our second meeting.
You'll be mine, babe.
Nothing can stop me now!
"So, who are you with, Alessandra?" I asked, ignoring the guy, trying to act cool in front of the woman, who caught my full attention and brought out the possessiveness in me.
I needed to get her out of the bar, away from that man's sight. I could feel my irritation growing tremendously, and I don't know how long I can control it.
If we stayed for more minutes, I can't promise to myself not to drag him out and beat the living shit out of him.
"With my best friend," she looked behind her briefly, in the direction of the lounge where I first saw her, "and some friends from the office, sir," she added, averting her eyes back to the bartender, avoiding mine. She looked anxious, and I hated to see her like that.
I wanted her to be comfortable with me, just like how she was with the guy on her right.
I noticed the guy was smiling sweetly at her when she briefly looked at him.
A growing need to wipe off that smile on his face heightened.
Fuck off, fucker!
"Call me Stavros or Stav, Alessandra. We're not at work," I said, but it came out as a command.
"Er ... Um ..." she stuttered, uncertainty in her eyes, "okay," she agreed hesitantly.
"Where are your friends?" I asked, feigning curiosity as I looked around the crowded room.
I need to get her away from the man who seems to miss the signal. "They are on the dance floor, sir. Ah ... I mean, Stav," she replied, giggling softly after realizing her mistake.
I gave Jayson a grateful nod when he slid on the counter my drink towards me. Grabbing my drink, I took a tentative sip, my eyes trained on her.
"Can I meet them, if you don't mind?"
I'm persistent. She gave me an anxious stare.
"Sure," she agreed eventually.
I almost jumped on my feet as I felt like I won over that prick, who didn't seem to get that his existence wasn't needed anymore.
She turned to the other guy, much to my annoyance, and said goodbye politely.
I heard the guy asking for her number, and I suddenly felt overwhelmingly possessive over Alessandra.
Curling my hand around her slim waist possessively, I grunted. "Let's go, Alessandra!" I scowled unconsciously.
My possessive beast within me howling like a mad bull, unstoppable. Her sweet scent wafted through the stifling air and filled my nostril.
It was intoxicating. I badly wanted to bury my nose into the crook of her neck, and lost in her smell.
God, she's a goddamn temptress. An innocent one.
She looked up at me, and gave me a deathly disapproving glare, before flattening her palm against my chest, and giving it a push, away from her.
I reluctantly released her and watched her walk away. I took a successive sip of my drink, then place it down on the counter, and quickly strode off, following her.
I was quite enjoying the view. Quite honestly, I could do this all day.
Then, she suddenly comes to a halt, swiveling around with that pissed-off look, she spoke angrily, "Mr. Demak—"
I scowled at her as I said my name. "Stav," I rectified interrupting her, brushing off her temper. She waved her hand off, ignoring my temper. "Whatever!" she seethed. "Just so you know, I'm not at work so you can't just boss me around," she ground out, with her index finger poking at my chest.
She looked adorable when she was mad.
Oh, those lips, I just wanted to kiss her right at that moment.
I held the urge at bay, I need to make a good impression.
Then, she spun on her heel in a huff, and walked away, heading to a lounge where a group of five familiar faces was conversing and laughing.
They seemed to be having a good time.
"Where's Lucy?" I heard her ask as soon as we got to the group.
She was looking at everyone, shifting her gaze between them.
"We don't know." One of the girls answered.
"You were with her, right?"
I stood beside Alessandra, and the group suddenly fell into silence. They all looked at us in shock. They shifted their gaze back and forth between Alessandra and me, all eyes brimming with curiosity.
Then, she seemed to remember me.
Hesitantly, she introduced me. "Oh, sorry guys. This is Mr. Demakis, I guess you all know who he is," Alessandra shrugged her shoulders with a stony face as she threw me a brief cutting glance. "Mr. Demakis, this is Sheena, Railey, Shannon, and Nico, Shannon's Boyfriend," she continued. "Shannon and Nico are in the Financing Department. The rest of the girls are in the Accounting Department." She ended flatly.
"Hi to all," I said giving them all a half-smile which only left them gawking at me.
I felt a sudden discomfort. I could feel their eyes discreetly scrutinizing me. I couldn't blame them.
"Would you mind if I join you, guys?" I asked casually, trying to sound cool, to warm them up to me.
"Not at all, Mr. Demakis," Sheena replied, grinning cheekily.
She looks tipsy, perhaps drunk.
She's talking a bit slurry now. I can see the reluctance in their eyes, but they are just being polite.
I know my reputation isn't that good and I can't blame them. They loathed me with every fiber of their being, and now I regretted making them fear me.
"Sure, Mr. Demakis," Nico agreed, with a friendly smile.
"Please sit," he motioned his hand across them, for me to sit. I just nodded my head in response.
I let Alessandra slide in and settled first, then I sat beside her. It suddenly got awkward.
They were all still looking at me. The lounge suddenly fell into an awkward silence, not one wants to break it.
"Oh, please, continue your conversation. I would love to hear your funny stories," I exclaimed in a friendly tone, giving them all a friendly smile.
After a few minutes, it seemed that they all warmed up, and started throwing jokes again at each other.
I could hear Alessandra sighing softly numerous times. Her sweet perfume with her natural feminine scent assaulted my nostrils deliciously. It smells fruity and addicting.
A slender, tan woman, that smells good is my weakness.
"Where did you come from, Alessandra?" I asked, trying to make a light conversation.
She eyed me suspiciously, then she spoke calmly.
"I'm originally from Spain. I just moved here recently with my best friend," she replied flatly. She still looked uncomfortable and it made me feel unhappy, but I just brushed it off.
She must've heard all the bad opinions from my employees, and she probably believed them.
I had to give her time to get to know me better.
"Wow! So what made you move here?" I asked, staring intently at her.
Odd that I became so interested in her.
I guess I just want to know her better, a thing I've never indulged in with my previous flings.
She's not one of my flings, so there it goes.
For some reason, she intrigued me.
I'm used to girls swooning with my presence, but she's the complete opposite.
"It was my best friend's dream to work here in New York. I just tag along," she shrugged her shoulders again in nonchalance.
I ignored her negative acceptance of my presence.
She's going to be mine, and nothing will stop me, even if she seemed less interested in me. My inner possessive self screams.
I look away, avoiding staring at her sensual lips.
It's so tempting to kiss her.
It takes so much willpower to control the urge.
"I have to thank your best friend, then." I chuckled softly. "If not for her, I wouldn't have met you," I gave her my mega-watt smile.
She just cocked her eyebrow, less pleased.
The whole time I asked her questions, she acquiescently answered them out of politeness, I felt my hope plummeting to the ground.
If she was a different girl, I would've been gone the minute she gave me a cocked eyebrow as a response, but no. It's Alessandra, and I don't know what keeps me glued to my seat, trying to win her attention.
I truly enjoy watching her, ignoring the fact that she's giving me the cold shoulder.
The other girls went dancing as they laughed at their jokes. While here, I'm trying to make her smile, but I'm failing miserably. She looked bored, to be honest.
"Where are you, Lucy?" I heard her mumble.
"Who's Lucy?" I asked, with my eyebrow furrowing. She looked up to meet my eyes.
"My best friend," she replied briefly.
She fished out something out of her small purse, her phone, then checked the screen.
I just watched her as she stuffed it back into her purse.
"I'm so sorry, it's getting late and I need to go look for her. I hope she's not drunk," she said apologetically as she stood up.
I rose from the couch and stood up and slid out, and let her pass. I went with her to find her friend, although I have no idea what she looks like. She seems nowhere to be found as I walked beside her.
"Why don't you try to call her?" I suggested. She stared at me thoughtfully, then nodded.
"Let's go outside so you can hear each other," I added, gently taking her hand, and leading her out of the loud room.
As soon as our skin connected, my heart thudded like the hooves of horses against my ribcage. Tiny electrifying sensations traveled down my spine deliciously, causing my dear friend between my legs, to throb in need.
The need to bed her, increases by the second.
"Okay," she replied anxiously, worries etched all over her beautiful face.
I'm glad she didn't yank her hand off mine. I like the feeling of holding it.
A satisfying feeling?
Wait, what?
Just by holding her hand, I felt content and satisfied?
No.
My ever stiff cock says otherwise.
I shook off the ridiculous thoughts.
.......................
Alessandra's POV
After a few attempts of calling Lucy, finally, her voice rang on the speaker. "Hey, where are you?" I asked worriedly, shooting Stavros a glance occasionally.
He's staring at me intensely, and he's very close, causing tingles to run down my spine.
It makes me feel nervous, and my heart is racing so fast, that I thought I wouldn't be able to keep up, and I would end up losing my consciousness, here in the parking lot.
"I'm sorry, Ali. I met this guy... err..." she paused briefly. I could hear the guilt in her tone. "His name is Alex, I mean Alexander Russo, and he invited me to have a coffee. You know, it's too crazy inside the bar, and we couldn't understand each other, so we thought we should go talk elsewhere quieter. I'm so sorry, I was thinking of sending you a text, but it slipped out of my mind," she explained apologetically.
I'd like to say something like, heck Lucy, you met a guy and you have forgotten your best friend. Over a stranger.
But I held my tongue.
I'm a little disappointed, but I'm more scared. What if the guy is a killer?
"It's fine. But are you sure that guy is not some serial killer on the loose?" I asked, whispering the last words as I turned my head away from Stavros.
I heard her giggle over the line. "He doesn't look like he could kill a fly, let alone me," she joked and I shook my head.
As much as I'd like to chide her of her impulsive decision, I held myself. Stavros' eyes were intently perusing me.
"Alright, I'll just take a cab. You take care," I said, forcing out a deep sigh. I couldn't shake off the worries in my chest. She practically trusted a stranger. I just hope the guy won't take advantage of her.
"See you at home," I said, as I sighed inwardly.
I hung up and was surprised he was still with me, patiently waiting.
I looked up at him, he was so tall. That discomfort feeling attacked me again.
He looked too intimidating, too.
She was staring at me expectantly. I involuntarily fed his curiosity.
"She's with a guy named Alexander Russo," I found myself explaining, for some reason.
Perhaps, I was trying to calm down my nerves.
"Oh, really?" he exclaimed, sounding surprised.
"He's one of my closest friends. You shouldn't worry. He's a nice guy. He owns this bar," he explained in a reassuring tone. There was a glint of wickedness in his Icy blue eyes or gray?
And I noted that he's been smiling a lot lately. It's odd because everyone keeps telling me he's cold and heartless.
"Good," I muttered, feeling relieved to know that Alex isn't a bad guy.
Now I can go home, and escape his piercing gaze.
But that thought didn't last long. As if he could read my mind.
"I'll drive you to your place," he said, much to my disappointment.
I mentally groaned.
"It's okay, Mr. Demakis," I politely declined.
I'm still not comfortable around him.
His smile withered.
He frowned. "Please call me, Stav," he reminded me again, for the nth time, he doesn't look at all pleased. He's probably tired of reminding me. "And I insist," he added, in a tone brook no argument.
But I am as stubborn as he is.
"I mean it. It's okay, Stav. I'll just take the cab. My place isn't th—" He interrupted me again, with his deep stern voice.
"No. I'll drive you to your place," he cut me off, grabbing me by the hand, and led me to his car, a gray Lamborghini.
That got me very pissed off.
Why is he bossing me around?
Oh God, please help me. I'm so going to kick him where the sun doesn't shine.
What have I done to deserve such controlling boars?
I had escaped my brothers, but you sent me to another.
Why o why?
I feel like I'm facing another one of my brothers.
Ugh.
I don't need anyone bossing me around, especially not my boss' boss.
"Are you getting in?" he frowned, snapping me out of my rebellious thoughts. I'm still standing there, looking stupid, shaking my head in disbelief.
Can he be nice for once?
And can't he get it?
"Get in, Alessandra!" he demanded. "Or I'll do it myself, and surely you're not gonna like it," he added sternly. I didn't miss the threat in his baritone voice.
His cold eyes were now staring impatiently at me.
That amused look is all gone, he's now acting like a dick.
No! This moron doesn't even have "please and thank you" in his vocabulary.
Does he even know what "please" means?
But the way he stared at me, I know he was not going to let me get my way, so I decided to give in, just wanting to get home and away from him, soonest.
"Fine!" I said through gritted teeth, as I stomped my feet involuntarily.
"But you don't have to be so bossy!" I snapped, not caring if he's the CEO. Who cares!
"Such a dick!" I mumbled under my breath, but much to my dismay, he heard it.
I slid into the car, glaring at him before he closes the door, then rounded the car.
He slid into the driver's seat and grinned at me smugly. "Oh, you have no idea how much of a dick I am," he responded haughtily, grinning wolfishly at me.
I narrowed my eyes at him. If only looks can kill.
"No plans of finding out, Mr!" I huffed, however, my heart fluttered at the sight of him.
I fumbled for my seatbelt as I narrowed my eyes on his perfectly sculpted face.
Sharp, strong jaws, chiseled nose, sensual lips, bushy brows, eyes that could make you melt into puddles. Not to mention his body. Oh, I'd love to feel his chest, kiss him endlessly.
Wait a minute? Where did that come from?
Is that the alcohol talking?
Get a grip, Ali.
I inwardly chastised myself.
I seriously should avoid alcohol. It makes my brain jumble.
Not long, he parked his car on the side of the road, in front of the building. I couldn't wait to get out of his car and send him away, or so I thought.
I quickly released myself from the seat belt and hopped out of the car hastily, gripping the small purse.
"Thanks for the ride," I muttered disgruntled though a bit grateful.
I have no plans of inviting him in. I nodded my head in appreciation for his kindness and was about to turn away when he spoke.
"Won't you invite me in?" He asked, smiling down at me.
If I was a girl who would only care about appearances, I would swoon and even beg him to come with me. Unfortunately, I'm not.
"It's late, Stavros." I pointed out flatly.
"Actually, I'm thirsty. Do you mind? I'm quite parched," he asked, staring at me expectantly.
A pang of remorse suddenly hit me. I forgot my manners, though I know he's trying to make a way to get inside our place with me, and at that, I felt cornered.
I watched him intently, but he looked impassive. It's hard to get through his head.
It would be rude if I don't give him a drink, besides, he gave me a ride, so it's just right to offer him something to drink out of politeness.
It's hard when you were raised by very strict parents, who groomed their children into well-mannered kids.
"Okay," I reluctantly agreed, hoping I wouldn't regret this later.
I felt my heart beating rapidly as soon as we got to the door. I unlocked it and invited him in, hoping Lucy would be home soon.
I turned on the lights and walked in, with him trailing behind me.
I placed my purse on the end table at the corner next to the door and made my way to the kitchen to grab a glass of water for him.
I didn't even bother to ask him to sit since I wanted him out soon before my head clouded with evil thoughts, or Lucy gets here.
"You have a nice place." I heard him say as I grabbed a glass from the cupboard.
I turned to look at him. He stood in the middle of the room, his eyes roaming skimming the place, with his hands resting in his pockets.
"It's Lucy's brother," I shrugged, as I turned on the water filter, then place the glass under the running water. I turned it off when the glass was almost full.
I turned around clumsily, and I collided with his solid rock chest.
How in world did he get so close to me without noticing?
His hand reflexively shot out and curled it around my waist before I fell on my back.
"I am so sorry!" I mumbled nervously as I realized the water spilled all over his chest. My heart still beating wildly against my chest.
I felt my cheeks burning with embarrassment.
I stupidly wiped my free hand on his wet shirt, trying to dry it.
Of course, it didn't work, his drenched shirt clung to his chest, and it only outlined his well-defined chest. Hard and ripped.
I gulped, audibly.
He was just staring at me amusingly.
Then, his gaze slowly moved down and rested on my lips. I could feel his breathing fanning against my cheeks. I could smell his breath, minty a hint of alcohol, and his natural male breath.
How could alcohol smells so sexy?
I found my eyes staring at his lush lips. Wondering how it felt like kissing him.
I involuntarily closed my eyes when I felt his lips touch mine. It was light, like a feather touching my lips.
Those familiar tiny tingling sensations that I felt the first time our skin connected, surged like a firestorm, coursing throughout my body, going down and settling low on my belly. When he nipped my lower lip, my whole body trembled with anticipation. My lower belly ached with needs. I may be a virgin, but I'm not innocent.
I know what that aching in my lower region means.
My legs turned into jelly, and my knees wobbled. I had to hold onto his neck to get some support.
My insides turned into mush, and I didn't even realize I was still holding the glass as I enjoyed his toe-curling kisses, if that's
I felt his hand on my thigh, giving it a sensual squeeze, causing me to gasp softly. I unconsciously gave his tongue access to my mouth.
He darted his soft yet firm tongue inside, swirling it around skillfully, invading and exploring every corner of my mouth, and I met his.
He teased me, biting it tenderly, then sucking it soothingly.
The foreign sensations wiped off all the resistance left in me. His kisses became a little aggressive, and I slowly picked up his rhythm. I followed his trail.
I never thought kissing could be this great.
No words to describe it.
His hands are skimming, caressing my bare backside. It feels wonderful. "Ohh!" I panted softly when he briefly left my lips. "You're.so.beautiful. Ali," he whispered through kisses. His hot lips trailed down to my neck.
Suddenly, I heard the clicking sound of the doorknob.
That electrifying sensation that left me breathless was gone in a split second, all sanity rushes back. Palm flattened against his drenched chest, I pushed him away quickly and pulled down the hem of my dress, which I didn't realize, he managed to lift it until my hips.
I bolted upright, looking nervously at the door, glancing at him briefly.
He looked so calm, without the sign of almost-there-sex, with his hands back in his pockets.
Oh, how unfair!
I'm feeling my nerves all over the place.
I can't believe I just let him kiss me.
Lucy walked in with a bright smile, but it soon vanished when she saw Stavros standing next to me, with a drenched shirt.
Crap!
She raised her eyebrow briefly, but then she flashed me a sweet smile, lingering her eyes on me for a second.
"Hey," she greeted, eyeing both of us curiously. "I'm sorry, I didn't call or send you ... a text," dragging her words as she regarded Stavros intently, and then slowly lowering her eyes on his wet shirt.
I know it looks fishy, but damn, that jerk doesn't seem to care at all. I felt my cheeks blush furiously.
I wished the floor would open up and swallow me in.
"I didn't know you had company," she muttered suspiciously, still looking at me with the won't-you-introduce-this-hot-guy-beside-you look, snapping me out of my disoriented state.
"I'm sorry, Lucy." Furtively glaring at Stavros, "this is Mr. Stavros Demakis, CEO of Stavros Shipping Corporation," I introduced him briefly, sounding a little throaty to my annoyance.
"Oh!" Lucy grinned. "He's the guy at—" I gave her a warning look, widening my eyes at her. "Oh, never mind!" she giggled, catching my silent warning.
Stavros shot me a curious look, trying to get an answer.
I just shrugged my shoulders.
He finally tore his inquisitive eyes away when he realized he won't get any answer.
"You must be Alessandra's best friend, whom I should thank," he smiled, extending his hand.
Lucy glanced at me briefly, confused.
I just shrugged my shoulders in nonchalance.
She averted her eyes back to Stavros and nodded with that big bright smile.
"Yes, the one and only," she beamed as she took his hand for a brief handshake.
She eyed me with her eyes brimming with curiosity.
I groaned silently.
I'm sure she won't stop later bugging me to tell her the story.
After a short pause, Stavros spoke.
"Well, thanks for the water, Ali," Stavros grinned wickedly, feeling the heat in my cheeks as I remember what just happened a moment ago.
I swear if Lucy didn't show up, I don't know where the kisses will end up.
"I'll head out since Lucy is here. I'll see you tomorrow," he muttered, with his eyes glinting mischievously.
I just nodded, scared my voice would betray me if I open it.
"Nice meeting you, Lucy," he said on the way to the door.
I was behind him, walking him to the door.
"I'll see you tomorrow," he whispered as he leaned in and quickly gave me a peck on my lips to my surprise.
He turned on his heel quickly before I could get my shit together, and I glared at his back heading to the elevator.
As soon as I sat on the couch, Lucy started bombarding me with questions.
"So what is that hot Demakis doing here? I need details, Ali!" Lucy started, her eyes filled with curiosity.
No! My mind screamed.
"There's nothing to say, Lucy. He just offered me a ride. He asked me if he could have some water since he was thirsty, and I invited him in because that's the right thing to do, okay? That's all," I explained briefly rolling my eyes at her.
I have no intention of telling her about our little indiscretion.
"That's all?" Lucy probe.
She's staring at me tenaciously.
"You blushed a while ago, Ali. That means something. You never blush, unless there's something. I need to know," she glared at me playfully. "Tell me more?" Lucy is tenacious sometimes.
I stared at her in disbelief. If she hadn't gone with that Alex, that kiss would have been avoided.
"Why was Mr. Demakis' chest soaking wet? Did you guys try something?" She teased, thoroughly amused.
"No!" I snapped, narrowing my eyes at her.
I tried to quell the heat that starts to creep up on my cheeks again. I have no intention to share the details. It's embarrassing.
Just yet!
Shaking my head, I stood up.
"It's late. I'll tell you tomorrow." I said, just to get away from her. She'll forget it tomorrow.
She just grinned at me. "All right," she caved in.
Her eyes danced with mirth. Her lips broke into a teasing grin.
I ignored it. "Good night, Lucy," I said halfway to the stairsteps.
"Good night, Ali!" I heard her reply, sounding like a snort.
"He's so hot up close, though!" she called out.
Ignored it and headed straight to my room.
