Alexander’s POV
“W-where are you taking me?”
I scooped her into my arms when she dropped to her knees after I came.
“To my cabin,” I said dangerously, growling at her to let her know she couldn’t do anything about it.
She was weak from exhaustion after what had happened. She stayed in my arms as I carried her to my cabin.
When we arrived, I kicked the door open and hurriedly went to a room.
Without warning, I climbed on top of her. We were both completely naked. It was here that we continued our pleasure. I wrapped my hand around her neck and entered her without hesitation, locking eyes with her.
“Please!” she moaned loudly, her sweet voice echoing through the surroundings. A smirk spread across my lips as I leaned closer to her face, moving rhythmically on top of her.
“You can’t run away from me,” I whispered, then bit her lip until I could taste the metallic tang of blood on my tongue.
And just like that, our moans filled the entire cabin. It went on for hours before we finally stopped and fell asleep.
---
I woke up to an empty bed, the absence of her presence jolting me awake.
My eyes darted around the dimly lit room, scanning every corner with a growing sense of urgency.
She was gone.
“Fuck!”
My jaw clenched, anger surging like a tidal wave.
Without thinking, I grabbed the lamp from the bedside table and tossed it across the room. It shattered against the wall, fragments raining down onto the wooden floor.
“Where the fuck are you?!” I roared, my voice booming through the cabin, shaking the very walls.
The rage that consumed me was primal, a force I could barely contain. My hands curled into fists, the veins in my arms bulging as I struggled to control the storm brewing inside me. I could feel my wolf stirring, his anger mirroring my own.
She was supposed to be here!
I stormed out of the cabin, the door slamming shut behind me with enough force to rattle the windows. My heart was pounding, each beat echoing like a war drum in my chest.
“Aira!”
Her name slipped past my lips. The sound of it brought back flashes of the night before—her soft voice, her hesitant moans, the way her eyes glimmered when she looked at me.
I paused for a moment, inhaling deeply, trying to catch her scent. My senses sharpened, honing in on every sound and smell around me. But the forest outside the cabin was eerily quiet, offering no clues.
She couldn’t have gone far.
My mind replayed the moments we had shared, each one more vivid than the last. The way her body had fit perfectly against mine, the heat of her skin, the undeniable connection that sparked between us.
She was mine—my mate.
The bond was something I felt deep within my soul, an unbreakable thread that tied us together.
I can’t fucking believe she ran away from me!
Frustration clawed at me, threatening to consume what little control I had left. I wouldn’t stop. I couldn’t stop. Not until I found her and brought her back where she belonged—by my side!
When I couldn’t find her nearby, I headed straight back to the pack’s territory. The Shadow Fang grounds were nothing like the quiet isolation of my cabin. I walked quickly, each step firm and determined.
“Alpha,” my pack members greeted me as I passed, their heads bowing instinctively in deference. Their respect was automatic, a sign of their submission to my leadership.
I didn’t acknowledge them, my focus entirely on the task at hand. When I reached the pack house, I didn’t bother with pleasantries. My voice thundered, commanding their attention.
“I want you to search for a woman!” I ordered, my tone leaving no room for argument.
The room fell silent, the weight of my command settling over them.
“She has long, wavy hair,” I continued, my voice steady as I described her. “Her eyes are piercing blue, her skin pale.”
And her hair… it’s almost white in the right light, glowing against her eyes…I thought to myself.
The members exchanged glances before responding in unison, “Yes, Alpha.”
They moved quickly, springing into action without hesitation.
But as they spread, I sensed unease lingering in the air. It didn’t take long for the source of it to step forward.
“Alpha,” one of the elders called out, his voice hesitant. All eyes turned to me, their unease evident in their shifting stances.
Decimus, the lead elder, cleared his throat before speaking. “We don’t understand why you’re so determined to find this woman,” he said cautiously. “But we believe Cassandra cannot know about this. If the Raven Claw pack discovers anything that jeopardizes our alliance, it could destroy everything we’ve built. Without their support, our pack could crumble!”
My eyes narrowed at his words, my patience wearing thin. Decimus wasn’t wrong about the consequences, but his constant reminders grated on me. Without breaking stride, I stepped closer to him, my presence silencing the murmurs that had begun to rise.
“I’m well aware of the stakes,” I said, my voice low and filled with authority. “But this time, it’s different. Aira is my mate. I felt it—the energy, the bond between us. She’s mine.”
Decimus’s eyes widened, the surprise on his face unmistakable. The other elders exchanged glances, their expressions shifting from shock to cautious approval.
“That’s incredible, Alpha, you found your mate!” one of them said, their voice tinged with genuine excitement. But Decimus wasn’t ready to relent so easily.
“Still,” he pressed, “you can’t let Cassandra find out. She’s the cornerstone of our alliance, and if she feels threatened, it could ruin everything.”
“Don’t worry,” I replied sharply, cutting off any further objections. “I know what I’m doing. I’m no fool.”
The room fell silent, the weight of my words hanging heavily in the air. No one dared to challenge me further.
It was then that Caesar, one of the elders, spoke again, his tone measured but insistent. “If you wish, Alpha, you can marry Cassandra,” he suggested. “And after you’re married to her, you can still have children with Aira—your mate.”
His proposal was like a slap in the face. My blood boiled, anger surging through me like wildfire. My eyes narrowed into slits as I shook my head sharply.
“That cannot happen!” I said, my voice thundering through the room.
The elders flinched, their fear palpable. I could see it in the way they stepped back, their movements hesitant and wary. But despite their fear, they stood their ground, determined to press their point.
Caesar stepped forward cautiously, lowering his head slightly in respect. “I’m sorry, Alpha,” he began, his voice steady but apologetic. “But this… this might be our only chance. You know what’s at stake. If we sever our alliance with the Raven Claw pack, especially with the natural disasters we’ve been enduring, we’ll lose everything. Food has been scarce, our lands are empty.
The Raven Claw pack controls a border rich with resources—water, fertile land, and food supplies. A stronger alliance with them would mean survival for all of us. If you marry Cassandra, their resources will become ours to share.”
His words hung heavily in the air, each one weighing on me like a stone. I glanced around the room, taking in the faces of my pack. The Shadow Fang pack—my family, my bloodline.
For generations, we’ve endured endless suffering caused by nature’s wrath. Crops failed, water dried up, and hunger gnawed at our people. Yet, despite all this despair, I had finally found my mate.
Aira…
And now, fate was forcing me into a corner, demanding I choose between duty and desire. Between my mate and my pack.
I clenched my fists, every muscle in my body tensing as I forced the words out. “Fine. If that’s what it takes to save us, I will marry Cassandra.”
A wave of relief washed over their faces, their collective tension easing. “Thank you, Alpha. This is the right choice,” Decimus said, his voice filled with gratitude.
But before they could celebrate further, I silenced them with a sharp gesture, my eyes blazing.
“Don’t stop searching for Aira,” I commanded, my voice low but unyielding. “She is mine. And no one—not Cassandra, not this alliance—will ever change that.”
Aira’s POVI woke up, gasping for air, my heart pounding in my chest. Turning my head, I saw him—Alexander. The sight of him made my heartbeat race even more, not from excitement, but fear. Panic gripped me, and my thoughts scrambled. Without wasting another second, I hurriedly grabbed my clothes and other belongings. Every move I made felt loud in the silence of the cabin, but thankfully, he didn’t wake up.Once I managed to slip out, leaving behind the place where he had brought me, a sinking realization hit me. What happened between Alexander and me—it was a mistake. Or at least, that’s what I kept telling myself over and over. Deep down, I knew the truth. A part of me had wanted it. Maybe it was the crushing loneliness that had consumed me. Whatever the reason, it didn’t matter now. It shouldn’t have happened. I couldn’t face him, not after this. With my chest tight and my thoughts racing, I wandered aimlessly, unsure of where to go. My first instinct was to return to the vil
Aira’s POVI wasn’t sure if I should accept it. The thought of leaving everything I knew behind felt heavy in my chest. My pack, my family, my life—it was all I had ever known. But my parents were persistent."You should accept it, Aira! You belong there, especially since he's your mate and he's an Alpha. Your life will be so much better there!" Mother suddenly chimed in, her voice filled with hope."With an Alpha by your side, your life will be great, and you can help us too," Father suddenly spoke, and there was a hint of something in his tone, like he wanted me to accept this offer for their own benefit.Alpha Chris, standing nearby, cleared his throat, breaking the silence. His authoritative voice echoed, pulling everyone’s attention."Everyone," he commanded. "Gather here now so that you can witness this. We’ll make an alliance with those who have come to us."His words carried weight, reverberating through the crowd. I could feel their eyes on me—judging, questioning, and, for s
Aira’s POVMy voice trembled as I demanded an answer, the words spilling out before I could stop them.“Is it true? Are you just using me as a breeding machine? That you’ll marry your true Luna and throw me away when you’re done?!”Alexander’s expression didn’t waver. His piercing eyes locked onto mine, icy and unrelenting. The silence between us was suffocating, the weight of it pressing down on my chest until I could barely breathe. When he finally spoke, his voice was as cold and detached as his gaze.“My marriage to Cassandra is a necessity. It ensures the survival of the pack.”His words weren’t just a slap—they were a blade, cutting through every fragile hope I had dared to hold. My lips quivered as I repeated his words, my voice barely audible.“A necessity?”“Yes.” He didn’t hesitate, “Any more questions?”The air left my lungs in a rush, and my knees buckled slightly under the crushing weight of his coldness. A searing anger surged through me, pushing aside my hurt, demanding
Aira’s POV“Alex!” I moaned loudly as he suddenly collapsed on top of me. We were both panting, trying to catch our breath. I could feel the heat radiating off him as he lay there, pressed against me.I couldn’t believe what had just happened. The first time we had shared something so intense, I thought it would be the last. But now, here we were, caught in a whirlwind of emotions and confusion. The bond we had shared had somehow turned into something more—something that neither of us had expected. My mind snapped back to reality, and that’s when it hit me. I suddenly realized that he had teased me earlier, making me feel like I was just being used.I took a deep breath, trying to calm my heart, which was still racing uncontrollably. I tried to steady myself, but the emotions swirling inside me were overwhelming. And then, without warning, Alexander moved. He shifted on top of me, and I could feel the weight of him leave as he rolled over to lie beside me. There was a moment of sil
Aira’s POV"Please, just let me go," I begged, my voice cracking under the weight of desperation. I could barely hear myself over the pounding of my heart. I directed my words toward the guards outside the door, hoping—praying—they might have a shred of mercy. Deep down, I knew better. They wouldn’t listen. They hadn’t listened before, so why would now be any different? They had dragged me back here, hauling me to Alexander’s territory like some criminal. But this wasn’t just any part of his place. No, they’d locked me inside his room, as if that somehow made it better—or worse. It had been days since that night. The memory still haunted me. Days had passed since our confrontation when Alexander told me he wouldn’t let me go. He hadn’t hesitated, hadn’t flinched when he said it. His words had been firm, final, and impossible to ignore. He claimed he wanted me by his side, but how could he say that when he was preparing to marry someone else? The thought alone crushed me. My chest fel
Aira’s POVThe day I had been dreading finally came — Alexander’s wedding to Princess Cassandra, as they call her. I was nervous and terrified. I waited for the servant who had brought me food a few days ago because she promised to help me escape.I paced back and forth in front of the bed, anxiety gnawing at me. My thoughts spiraled out of control. What if I couldn’t escape? What if I didn’t make it out safely? What if they found out and did something horrible to me?Time passed. She was an hour late. I started to lose hope. Maybe they never planned to let me go. Maybe her promise was just empty words. But then, to my surprise, the door creaked open, and the servant stepped inside.“Let’s go. Everyone’s busy outside preparing for the wedding celebration. Come with me.”My eyes widened in shock, but relief washed over me. “Okay, let’s go.”I followed her as we stepped out. To my surprise, there were no guards outside. The servant walked quickly, and I hurried to keep up with her, hug
Alexander's POVAira’s transformation caused an uproar. The air around us was heavy with confusion and fear. Before I could even process what was happening, the guards moved in swiftly, encircling her."D-Don’t move! You have been surrounded!" one of them barked, his voice trembling despite the authority he was trying to command.Their weapons were drawn, their stances rigid, but I could sense their hesitation. The fear in their eyes was real. It wasn’t just caution—it was raw disbelief at what they had just witnessed. I felt the tension ripple through the room like a live wire.My own body was frozen in place. My jaw worked up and down as if trying to form words, but nothing came out. My heart was hammering against my ribs, the sound loud in my ears. I clenched my fists so hard that my nails dug into my palms, grounding me despite the chaos. Before I could take a step or utter a single word, the double doors slammed open. All heads turned sharply to the new intruders. A cold gust of
Cassandra’s POVI never really wanted to marry Alexander Maximus. But my father, Alpha Gideon, was obsessed with the idea. He believed that marrying Alexander would solidify our pack's power and position, elevating us to a status unmatched by any other."Cassandra," my father called, sitting on his throne in the pack house, surrounded by servants. "What is it this time, Father?" I asked."I called you here because this is your chance to finally have some purpose in our pack. All you’ve been doing is acting like a princess, but once you become his mate—once you’re Luna to Alpha Alexander Maximus—you’ll have a real role, a real purpose. You’ll bring honor to our pack and strengthen our alliance. We’ll have a connection that matters."My father kept going on and on about Alexander. Honestly, it was getting on my nerves, but there was nothing I could do because this was what he wanted."Fine," I muttered, already over the conversation. "I agree.""Good," he said. "And I expect you to pre
Aira’s POVI watched Ezekiel quietly as he rested, recovering from the healer’s treatments over the past few days. His face was still pale, and the faint traces of pain lingered, but he looked better than before. I felt a mix of relief and worry as I observed him in silence. He had fallen asleep before the healer came back. He had regular check-ups to make sure his wounds were healing properly. My eyes stayed on him, but for some reason, a heavy feeling weighed down on me as I stared at his still form. The healer stood up and turned to me, giving me a reassuring glance.“His condition looks good now,” she said. “Just call me if the pain worsens or if the ointment doesn’t work.”“Thank you, always, for your help,” I replied to her. She nodded and left without a word.Once she was gone, I sat by the edge of his bed, unable to take my eyes off him. All I could do now was wait for him to wake up. But it wasn’t long before I felt my eyelids growing heavy. I could barely keep them open.“I
Aira’s POVI turned my back on him; however, he shouted.“Aira, no!” Alexander’s desperate voice broke through the chaos. I winced as his hold tightened, the intensity in his eyes begging me to listen. Then, to my shock, he fell to his knees.“Please, you need to believe me!” he yelled. “Aira, we were finally getting somewhere—why is everything falling apart now?” His voice cracked. Panic was etched into his face. But I was done listening. Fury clouded my thoughts, drowning out reason. I yanked my wrist free, “Get lost!” I shouted, my voice trembling from the rage surging through me.I turned to Ezekiel, ignoring Alexander’s broken expression as I reached out to help him. Ezekiel grunted, wiping a trickle of blood from his lip.“I don’t ever want to see you again,” I spat, my words aimed at Alexander like daggers. My pulse raced as I watched his expression crumble.Alexander’s eyes widened, disbelief washing over his face. For a moment, he was utterly still, the weight of my rejectio
Aira’s POV‘Aira…help!’I jolted awake, my heart racing. My breathing was ragged as I struggled to shake off the remnants of sleep. Blinking rapidly, I realized I had fallen asleep on one side of the couch in the mansion’s living room. I quickly sat up, rubbing my face, and turned to look at the clock. It was already late at night.Ezekiel.A sudden wave of unease washed over me. I glanced around, searching for him, but he was nowhere in sight.“E-Ezekiel? Are you here?” My voice came out shaky as I pushed myself up.I moved carefully, my hands instinctively cradling my lower abdomen. I had to be extra careful for the baby. Taking a deep breath, I turned on the lights. The moment the room illuminated, my breath caught in my throat. My eyes widened in horror.Drag marks.Dark, disturbing stains smeared across the living room floor, forming a trail that led deeper into the mansion. My stomach twisted painfully.“What the hell is this?” I whispered to myself, my heartbeat hammering again
Ezekiel’s POVI wasn’t surprised when I woke up and found myself in a dark, damp underground garage. The air was thick with the scent of oil and rust, and the cold concrete beneath me. And then I felt it—a sharp blade pressed against my throat. My breath hitched for a brief second, but I quickly regained my composure. My life hung in the balance, teetering on the edge of that very blade. Yet, I refused to show fear. The wielder of the weapon? None other than him.“Alexander,” I muttered, my voice steady despite the lethal situation. Our gazes locked. His expression was cold, his eyes brimming with restrained fury. But me? I smirked. I refused to let him see me waver.“What brings you here, huh?” I taunted, my voice dripping with amusement. “I knew I caught a familiar scent while I was resting. Let me guess—after Aira and I fell asleep, you made sure to drag me here, down to this underground pit, away from her eyes.” My smirk widened. “You didn’t want her to see what you’re up to, d
Ezekiel’s POV“Where is Aira now?” I asked the moment I returned to the mansion."She's upstairs, Alpha Ezekiel, in her room. Just reading her book," the maid replied respectfully."Does she ever leave? Has she disobeyed me?" My voice was firm, searching for any sign of defiance. The maid quickly shook her head. "No, Alpha. She never tries to escape. Ever since the security around the mansion tightened, she hasn't stepped outside. She stays in her room most of the time. When she does move around, it's only within the mansion—often visiting the nursery and the study room."I nodded, absorbing the information. Good. At least she was staying within bounds.Without another word, I ascended the stairs to the third floor, where Aira’s room was located—the place I always left her. My fingers curled tightly around the small velvet box in my hand. Inside it was a necklace—a gift for her. Whatever her reaction would be, it didn’t matter. I had already decided.Standing before her door, I knocke
Amelia’s POV“I need to leave. There is something I needed to take care of.”I didn’t wait for Alexander’s response, nor did I need his permission. I turned my back on him and walked away without a second thought.Something about him felt off. I had a nagging feeling that Alexander was lying to me. But if he was lying, he wouldn’t get away with it. I knew him too well. I had spent enough time by his side to recognize when he was hiding something. So, I decided to take matters into my own hands.I had been watching her closely, waiting for a moment when she’d let her guard down. And that’s when I caught her.I overheard her speaking in hushed tones, her voice laced with urgency."I need to go to the pirates," Cassandra said.I edged closer, careful not to make a sound. My breath hitched as I strained to hear every word."Tell me, who were the people that came from the pirates?" she demanded.A maid stood before her, shifting uncomfortably. She looked nervous, her hands fidgeting with
Aira’s POV“Aira, are you okay?”I looked up to see Ezekiel standing in front of me, concern etched deep into his eyes. "Yes, I’m fine. Don’t worry too much about me. You should’ve taken care of your own business instead of coming back."He shook his head firmly. "I’ll stay here tonight. I want to make sure you’re okay before I leave tomorrow. You need to be careful." He reached out and cupped my cheek, the warmth of his palm grounding me. But despite his gentle touch, my thoughts drifted to Alexander.True to his word, Ezekiel stayed the night. I appreciated his presence, even if it made my heart feel heavy. By the time morning came, he finally left, and I couldn’t shake the feeling of guilt gnawing at me. I barely had time to gather my thoughts before Alexander returned. My cheeks burned as I invited him upstairs. I couldn’t hide my embarrassment, but Alexander just smiled, his eyes softening as he looked at me.“I wanted to surprise you first,” he said, taking my hand. Before I cou
Aira’s POV“Ms. Aira! Ms. Aira! What happened to you?!”My eyes fluttered open, and dizziness hit me hard. The world spun around me. Panic bubbled up in my chest. "W-What's going on?" I managed to ask, my voice weak and trembling.“Oh! You’re finally awake!” a maid exclaimed, her face etched with relief. “We’ve been trying to wake you for a while now, Ms. Aira. Hold on!”She quickly called out, her voice urgent. “Help me get her to the bed!”A group of maids and guards rushed over. Those who couldn’t lift me still tried to help, supporting me as they carefully eased me onto the bed. My head throbbed, and my muscles ached as if I’d been running for days without rest. I sank into the soft mattress, trying to calm my racing heart. One of the guards, his face stern and serious, barked an order. “Call for a healer. Now!”A maid immediately rushed out of the room, her footsteps fading as she ran down the hall. I lay there, dazed and confused, my thoughts muddled. Why did my body feel so wea
Aira’s POVI had no choice but to accept my situation. Locked in this room, I couldn't go out anymore. Deep down, I knew it had something to do with the necklace. It was the only thing that made sense. Ezekiel must have picked up Alexander’s scent from it—after all, he’s an Alpha with heightened senses.A frustrated sigh escaped my lips as I tried to calm myself. There was no point in panicking. I needed a distraction—anything to get my mind off this mess. So, I made my way to the nursery room in the mansion. The workers were busy, expanding the room and making it more suitable for a baby.“How’s the arrangement going?”One of the workers looked up, surprise flashing across his face. “Oh, Ms. Aira, it’s you. We’re almost done.”I nodded, watching as they painted the walls a soft, calming shade of blue. The faint scent of fresh paint hung in the air, and I wrinkled my nose. The nursery was filled with baby supplies—clothes, toys, and tiny furniture. To keep myself from going crazy wi
