Chapter Seven

Luke’s Point of View

‘Hey, can you come and help me clean up the shed?’ I asked Michael taking a swig of my beer. There wasn’t much that needed to be cleaned up, at least, I didn’t think so, but maybe I could persuade Michael to talk to me about whatever it was that was clearly on his mind.

Maybe if we were somewhere more private, he would be more inclined to talk. In this house, the saying ‘’the walls have ears’’ was all too literal. With nothing more than a simple ‘’hmmm’’, Mike downed his beer in one and got to his feet.

‘Sure, why not. Got nothing else to do’. He mumbled and headed towards the kitchen. I just followed him. Ok, Something was really wrong with him, but what?

Walking into the shed, I flipped the light on and Michael followed, He cringed at the sight of the vomit on the floor. Oh, shit, yeah, I have to clean that up, greatttt. Damon would have a hissy fit if he saw it. This was his ‘’special room’’. He lets us use it on the condition that we clean

Chapter EightDamon’s Point of View As soon as I saw who had contacted me, I smiled, made an excuse and left. Naturally, I had no intention of telling the guys where I was going. I wasn’t stupid. I was the TINIEST bit annoyed, but overall, I wasn’t. I was gonna miss out on the fun of whatever Luke had planned, and what Michael had done didn’t really satisfy the sadist in me, but, I suppose they weren’t my toys to play with. My night will come again soon, For now, that murder itch just had just gnawed away at me until I could scratch it. We only went hunting once a month, well, once a month each. Michael and Luke often hunted on the same evening, it's something they’ve always done, they seem happy enough to share their evening, mine was always before theirs and Joey’s was always after. It was annoying, having to ration it like that, but it's how we stayed under the radar, and once we hit a location for a victim, we don’t hit it again for a little while after, again, less suspicion th

Chapter Nine Damon’s Point of View Laying in Love’s bed, I ran my fingertips up and down her back. She wasn’t asleep, but she had her eyes closed, resting. ‘So, what are you going to do today then?’ I asked her. I was curious as to what she was going to be getting up to while I was going to take a few hours and nap. ‘I have plans with the girls today, we’re going to the beach’. I just smiled, she had told me a lot about ‘’the girls’’, I had yet to meet them, but she assured me it will be ‘’soon’’. I suppose I can’t really complain, I wasn’t allowing her to meet my friends, so... ‘Oh, fun, Make sure you put some sunblock on’. Love always forgets, but then she’s a giant baby when she gets burnt, and living in California, things like that should just be second nature at this point. She was born and raised in England, her parents moved out here when she was about 16, but since then, they had died in a plane crash, leaving her their fortune... And it was a pretty big fortune, but on

Chapter Ten We sat there talking for a little while, trying to figure a plan out, but we were getting nowhere, fast. I heard chatting coming from outside and then approaching footsteps. ‘Shit, they’re coming back!’. Peyton told me, panicking like I hadn’t already figured that out myself. I told her to calm down and looked around for something I could use as a weapon, but I couldn’t see anything. Typical. I just grabbed Peyton and pulled her to me, sitting up slightly. The door opened and in they walked. ‘Oh, you’re awake’. One of them spoke, we just stayed silent. They took afew steps closer and we tried to shimmy away. They instantly stopped when they saw it and stayed where they were. ‘I’m Michael’. I just looked at him. Was this another mind game? ‘I’m Luke’. My eyes flipped back and forth between the two. ‘I don’t care, let us go!. It was Peyton who spoke, My head whipped around and I told her to shush. What was she doing?! While we didn’t have a plan, this certainly was

Chapter Eleven I looked at myself in the bathroom mirror and winced at the sight of my face. Everywhere I had originally had a piercing, was now an ugly, sore-looking (and feeling) bruise. ‘Here’. I glanced over, He was holding out a cloth. I took it but didn’t thank him, why would I? He caused this. I rinsed it under the tap and started dabbing away the dried blood. I kept looking at him in the mirror, making sure he was staying where he was, sitting on the corner of the bath, and away from me. Once the blood was gone, I rinsed the cloth off and left it on the side of the sink before hopping up to sit on the counter. ‘Why do you do... This?’ I asked, pointing to my face, he just shrugged. ‘There must be a reason’. ‘It's fun. I like inflicting pain’. ‘You realise how insanely fucked up that is right?’ ‘Of course’. He seemed so blasé about it, ‘I’m a monster, I’m well aware of it, it's why every woman I’ve ever loved has left me… one way or the other’. ‘I feel like there’

Chapter TwelveElla’s Point of View ‘What did you do?!’ I screamed as I ran into the room, ‘What the fuck did you do?’ I went straight to Peyton and saw her arm was in a sling, ‘What’s this?’ ‘Just keep him away from me!’. ‘What did he do?’ I repeated, slightly annoyed, for what felt like the 50th time. I looked over at the two men, now standing together, looking just as confused as I was. Michael said something and they both went into the bathroom and closed the door. Well, I suppose the fact they were giving us some privacy was something, nothing amazing, but something. ‘W-we were talking and then... And then... He was being really nice and complimented me and..’ ‘He complimented you? And?’ I was waiting for the big awful thing that made her scream, but the more she rambled on, the more it became clear that... Nothing had actually happened. ‘So.. he complimented you, and you freak out?’ She just glared at me, like I had said something wrong. ‘Are you for real?’ ‘What?’ ‘They

Chapter Thirteen I tossed and turned and eventually woke up all together. It wasn’t until I sat up and looked around, confused as to where I was, and then remembered again, that I realized just how freezing cold it was. My arms were pricked up with goosebumps and I shivered. Why the hell was it so cold? ‘Michael?’ I called out into the pitch-black room. ‘Michael?’ There was some groaning and mumbling but eventually, a voice in the dark answered; ‘Yeah?’ ‘Why is it so cold?’ ‘It's an old house, Just wrap yourself up in the duvet’. ‘I have’. There was silence again. I figured he’d just fallen back to sleep, so laid back down and closed my eyes, attempting to just try and forget about it… which was easier said than done. It wasn’t until I felt the bed dip that my eyes shot open and I sat up. ‘What the hell are you doing?!’ I screamed, holding the covers up to my chest. I wasn’t naked, but I still felt uncomfortable with him being this close to me, in this situation. He was tople

Author's Note: There is so many Point of View changes in these first chapters because I want you (the reader) to have a good understanding of what each character is thinking and feeling. Plus, there are other things going on within the house that Ella and Peyton wouldn’t know about, hence why I’m giving you an insight into Michael, Damon and Luke’s thoughts/lives. As the story progresses, the book will swap to Ella’s Point of View only (Except for the odd snippet/chapter here and there) Enjoy!! *************************************** Chapter Fourteen Ella’s Point of View My hand was on the door handle, but I stopped. What made you want to hurt people?’ He didn’t turn to look at me, he didn’t answer me either, ‘I just want to understand you more’. He dropped whatever he was holding, it made a loud clattering noise. ‘Please?’ Sighing, he turned to face me. He didn’t look impressed. ‘I don’t want to talk about it’. ‘Why?’ I pushed. ‘Because it's none o

Chapter One Hundred and Seventeen -- Final Chapter! ** Jenson’s First Birthday **Michael’s Point of View Maybe throwing a big family party and having family come in from out of town wasn’t the best idea, considering we hadn’t long moved into our house, but how many times do your children turn one? Today was a special day and while it would be ALOT of hard work, it would definitely be worth it. I was in the kitchen making breakfast while Ella was up in the shower. ‘Do you want some toast?’ I asked my very happy birthday boy. He looked up at me and beamed a smile, nodding before he continued playing with his toys on the floor. Another thing I loved about this house was the large open plan kitchen, it meant we could cook food while Jenson played in his toy room, which, technically was the dining room, but it worked so, meh! I quickly made him his food and went over to put it on his tray before going back to cooking the bacon for mine and Ella’s sandwiches. As I was finishing them

Jenson was sleeping in Mike’s arms, and Kacey was in Luke’s. Me and Peyton were having a glass of mine. It was really nice to just sit and relax with them. ‘So, how hungover did you get in Vegas then?’ She asked. I couldn’t help but laugh, ‘Oh, THAT hung over, huh?’ I nodded. ‘You have absolutely NO idea’. We shared another laugh, which caused Kacey to sturr. ‘Why don’t you take the kids upstairs to bed?’ Peyton suggested. ‘Oh, I’m sorry, would you like us to head home, give you some time to chill out, just yourselves?’ I suggested it, but she shook her head. ‘No, No honestly, it's fine. Chapter One Hundred and Fifteen Ella's Point of ViewThe rest of the day crawled by but honestly, I was so annoyed now I just didn't care. Peyton had really gotten under my skin with her selfish comments. She just couldn’t be happy for me because I had something first... For once in our lives. Absolutely ridiculous. Mike poked his head around the door to look at me. I had decided to just come into the lounge and relax with a book. Jenson was on the floor in front of me, happily playing. ‘Hey, I'm gonna take Jenson to the park, do you want to come?’ I looked out the window, it was looking a little gloomy. ‘Is that a good idea? It looks like it's going to rain’. He just smiled and walked over to the baby, picking him up. ‘If it rains, we will come home, Come on, be fun’. I just shrugged. ‘I’m just not really feeling it, baby, Why don't you take him?’ He frowned but just shrugged, mumbling a ‘’fine’’ and walked out of the room. I sat there for a moment, suddenly feeling guilty. Sig

Chapter One Hundred and Fourteen Ella’s Point of View We were on the road home, our weekend away was over, but it was without a doubt the best time I've ever had, obviously not counting times I spent with Jenson. We were about 2 hours from home, but we were making good time. I looked down at my hands, playing with my wedding ring. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t nervous about sharing our news with the family. Mike noticed me messing with it and reached over to take my hand. ‘Don’t worry, I’m sure it will be fine, and like I said, we will just have a big party to celebrate’. I sighed and nodded. ‘I know, You’re right, you’re right’. I smiled, not wanting to sour the mood or the feeling of Love in the air between the two of us. ‘I can’t wait to get home and see Jenson’. I smiled again. I loved hearing Mike gush over our son, it was the cutest thing ever. ‘Me either!’. Mike focused back on the road while I started playing around with the stereo, and hooked it up to my phone to pla

Chapter One Hundred and Thirteen The trip was going great but it was going by so fast! Yesterday we explored and did some sightseeing, had an amazing lunch and dinner, went to the concert, stayed out late getting drunk and then stayed up most of the night making love in the hotel room. Today was a bit more chilled out. We slept in and cuddled, ordered room service and now... We were at the wedding chapel, waiting to get married! I was so nervous but so excited! Sure, I was a little sad that our family and friends weren’t with us but at the same time... I liked that. It was a lot more personal. A super special moment just between me and Mike, and we had already agreed that we were gonna throw a nice, big party once we got home and treat that as a sort of wedding reception. …I just hope Peyton and my parents aren’t mad at me for them not being included… It seemed to be an ongoing rotation. One couple went in, afew minutes later, they came out and another couple went in, and so on a

It was night, so all the lights were on and it was beautiful. ‘I miss Jenson’. I blurted out, he squeezed my shoulder;‘Yeah, I do as well, but it's nice to have some alone time, isn’t it?’ I nodded, agreeing. Yeah, it really was. ‘So, do you want more kids in the future?’ His question caught me a little off guard, it was just so..out of the blue and random, but I couldn’t hide the smile that crept onto my face thinking about it. ‘Well, I mean… Do you?’ I stole a look up at him and he was smiling too. Well, that's a positive sign. ‘I do. I wanna have a million kids with you’. I couldn’t help but laugh, and he joined in, ‘Ok, maybe not a million, but maybe another one or two wouldn’t be so bad’. ‘Can you believe

I felt so guilty leaving Jenson at home while me and Mike went on a weekend trip away together, but I felt worse considering she was pregnant and they already had Kacey to look after, but she just rolled her eyes. ‘Mike, come and get my sister!’. She called over my head as he and Luke continued to pack the bags into the car. ‘Yes, they are super sure, stop worrying’. He called back, clearly already knowing what I was asking. Me and Pey shared a smile. Honestly, I was really looking forward to this weekend. We were only going a few hours away. There was a concert in Vegas that both me and Mike wanted to go to, and Peyton had offered to have Jenson so we could go. Mike and Luke were sitting on the sofa with the kids, and Thomas was sitting on the arm chair, scrolling through his phone. I was able to come home from the hospital yesterday after only a day in. I just wanted to come back home and get settled and since the birth was relatively straight forward the Doctors had absolutely no issue with that, which was good. Peyton and Luke had been around a bit, but they knew when to go home and give us space. Same with Joey and Thomas, Damon however, had completely vanished. God knows what he was up to these days, he had been acting hella weird, but no one else seemed to have noticed… or they had and just weren’t mentioning it, and I didn’t feel it was my place to say anything. I closed my eyes, just feeling like I could sleep for a million years at this point, but I heard a chuckle and looked up, seeing Mike standing there holding the baby, smiling down at me. ‘See that, your mummy is so tired, shall we let her sleep?
