CHAPTER 1 : HIRED

YAINA'S POV:

[FLASHBACK]

My right hand covers my mouth while the left holds my two-month-old daughter. I was a little bit shaking while holding her because of the fear and cold weather. We hid in the small tree here behind the house and tried not to make even a small noise. It was good that my daughter was sleeping because I was scared that my husband would catch us and he would take my daughter away from me. When I noticed that the rain was starting to pour little by little, I surrounded my daughter with a white cloth that only I got so that she wouldn't wake up. I was praying so hard that she will stay asleep while we still haven't gotten out of here. 

Before we got to this situation, I heard my husband Gio talking to someone on the phone and he was planning to give our daughter to that person and killed our daughter. He couldn't accept that our child was a girl, he wanted a boy because that was the law in the organization he belonged to and he believed that women are weak. I just found out about that kind of personality he had now. His ruthless and being so obsessed with money just came out, and he just married and used me because he wanted to get the wealth of his father, but the condition of his father is to give him a grandson. And now I regret going with him here in Italy and marrying a man who wanted nothing but power and money.

"HARAYA! I KNOW YOU JUST HERE AND YOU HEAR ME! YOU KNOW WHAT I CAN DO IF I WAS MAD SO JUST GIVE HER TO ME AND I WILL KEEP YOU ALIVE!" I heard a loud scream from my husband at the front door of our house. "I CAN FIND YOU! I AM NOT BORN AS A MAN TO JUST LET A WOMAN LIKE YOU STOP ME FROM WHAT I WANT!"

With that scream, I felt even more scared, but even so, I did not lose hope of getting out of this life for my daughter. I pressed myself closer to the tree and looked around to see if he was close to us. It was good that his people moved out a reason why he was looking for us alone so it was hard for him to find us. 

I knew that he wouldn't leave the front gate because he knew I had the duplicate key, this was the first thing I took when I heard him talking on the phone before taking my daughter next. He was so fast to feel my action that's why before I was able to get out of here, he already saw me right away which is a reason why I needed to go back to the house carrying my daughter and hide. 

Until a plan came up in my mind. I can't wait and just hide here, I have to act too. I put my daughter down on the grass and looked around trembling. When I looked at the face of my innocent daughter, a strong dedication to put her out of here got stronger. 

"Please don't cry..." I was tapping her slowly to make her sleep deeper and so I could make my plan. "I'll get you back, I promise I'll get you out of here…."

When I assure she was sleeping deeply, I calmly entered the house again and left my daughter outside behind the tree. And as I said, my husband was so focused in front of the gate, that's why I easily got the things I will use for my plan. I took one of our cats and took cat treats before tying it to a long rope that I got under the table. I will use the cat to chase the food that I tie on the rope so that the cat accidently makes noise from inside while I was outside pulling the other end of the rope. And my plan successfully happened. I heard from the outside that the vase fell and broke on the floor which is the reason why my husband heard it. In the big window on the side of the house I saw his shadow hurrying in.

I took that time to pick up my daughter and I quickly ran to the side of the house going in front of the gate. I was the one who opened the gate even though I was pregnant back then. That's why even I was carrying my daughter I quickly opened it but it made a little noise.

"HARAYAAAAA!" His screams echoed from inside the house.

"I will never go back to you again." I bravely whispered into the air before quickly running outside to ask for help from whoever I met.

And I think I can still call this a lucky day because the first car that I saw and stopped while I was running fast carrying my child was my parents. My parents came here to visit me but this is what they found. I was pleading and crying when I saw them. I feel like even if we haven't completely left yet, I feel safe because I have them.

"Omygod, my daughter Wilbert! I told you I feel something happening to our daughter!" Mom immediately took my daughter while she used her other hands to hug me.

I saw how much dad was angry about my situation the way that he wanted to leave in front of us to go to my husband but I stopped him. I can't deny that we are capable in life but not as rich and powerful as my husband, we can't handle him.

"Please dad, mom, let's get out of here." I was so scared that he would catch us here. "I'm begging you, help me and my daughter out of here."

[END OF FLASHBACK]

I ruffled my hair with my hand because of the flashback in my brain where my name is still Haraya. I already moved out of that jail, I am already Yanie and I will not be in that situation anymore, mostly I have my daughter. I want to give a beautiful future to my daughter away from my ruthless husband and protect her from anyone. But how can I do that if she was missing now?

I was supposed to go for an interview at one company when Trina, my friend, called me to say that Viela was missing. A reason why that flashback came to my mind suddenly. I didn't expect that Viela would cry when she woke up when I wasn't at her side so Trina decided to follow me and so my daughter would stop crying but when they were already in front of the company Trina lost her eyes to Viela when she was buying water. 

"I don't want to think about it but what if her dad..." Trina covered her mouth immediately when I glared at her.

I was already refraining from thinking about that.

"Don't you ever continue that Trina, he will never find us. He is already banned in this country, I trust my parents." I warned her before continuing to look around hoping that my eyes saw my daughter. "Let's just find her, maybe she just saw something."

She nodded, looking apologized. "I suggest that let's go back in front of the company, maybe she goes back where I left her." She suggested that I agree immediately.

We went back in front of the company I was supposed to go to for an interview to apply for but ended up finding my daughter. She doesn't know this place, my mind can't stop feeling sorry knowing that at this time she was alone. She was only 4 years old! I feel so guilty, I know she was so scared and crying at this moment because she couldn't find us.

As time passes, the weight on my chest increases. And so when I noticed the guard of the company I walked to approach him to ask if they have CCTV outside here and so I can see where Viela turned because as Trina said earlier she left it here. Trina followed me in approaching the guard.

"Hello, good morning. Can I ask for help?" I quickly asked the guard when his gaze turned to me. "My daughter is missing, she doesn't know anything about this place so it would be a big help if I can ask for CCTV outside if you have one. I really need it, please..."

I was trying very hard so my voice wouldn't shake. Trina held me by the hand as she noticed my shaking. Trina looked at the guard.

"My friend was right, I was just with her an hour ago but she suddenly disappeared from my side, please do help us." Even Trina trying her best to beg him. "Please..."

His smile disappeared when he heard that from us, his expression became like he remembered something. He looked up and thought deeply. Me and Trina looked at each other having a hope that maybe he saw it, we were patiently waiting for him to remember and it wasn't long before he returned his sight to us.

"I don't think the company will give what you are asking for but there was a little girl who came in here, I even chased her because kids are not allowed inside but she ran so fast. The only thing I am assured is that she is still here inside of the company. I just don't know if she's your daughter." He politely told us.

I looked at Trina. "Do you remember what she was wearing?"

Trina aggressively nodded at me before looking at the guard, carefully thinking about what my daughter wore. "She was wearing a unicorn dress and purple headband on her head, she was carrying a pink backpack too! That's all I remember!"

Trina brushed her hair hard, feeling disappointed by what she just remembered but she stopped and our heart calmly when the guard pointed to Trina and nodded a lot of times.

"It's her! I surely remember her because we almost play hide and seek here! What your friend said is the little girl who entered the company and as I said she is probably just here..." He looked around and his eyes shone when he looked at the side of our back. "There she is! I told you she had not left yet. Is she your daughter?"

I instantly looked where the guard was pointing and my foot got numb when I saw my daughter. My knees quickly got weak and I couldn't help but to cry. I didn't even cry when she was missing because I was so focused on finding her but now that I know she is okay I can't help but to cry.

"She is so happy, look at her. Like she doesn't even care that she is alone for an hour so don't cry she will be worried." Trina helped me stand up to come closer to Viela.

She was right, I felt confused too because I was expecting that we would find her crying. Instead, she was hugging her backpack having a little jump while a female in an employee suit was holding her hair that was ripped by a ponytail. And her smile widened when she saw me and Trina. She ran towards us. The female employee didn't stop my daughter when she ran to us. I hug her tightly when she comes close to me like I haven't seen her in weeks.

"Mom..." She was tapping my back with a hard breath. "Mom, I can't breathe, I still need to tell you something , I can't die."

I heard the laughter of Trina. I stopped hugging her and got the backpack she was holding to put down and held her two hands.

"Where did you go? We found you everywhere, you are scaring us." I softly asked her pouting.

She looked at me worried when she saw my tears fall. "Why are you crying? Did Aunt Trina beat you?"

My tears stop and I can't stop laughing. I looked at Trina when she softly pitched Viela's cheeks.

"Duh, your mom is the one who will beat me if we don't find you. I told you not to go anywhere, I'll really tie you on my waist next time." Trina was glaring at Viela but I know that inside of her she was calm now too.

"I lost? When?" Viela looked at us so confused. 

She is really so innocent and cute at the same time. I'm okay with that, at least I didn't see any trauma in her face.

"Don't think about that, the important thing is you are here now and safe but promise me don't do that again. If you want something to see or go to, pull one of us." I pointed at Trina at the back.

She looked at her aunt Trina and nodded with a smile.

"Correct, don't give us a heart attack." Trina jokingly pointed at my daughters belly using her index finger which my daughter laughed while nodding to her Aunt Trina.

"By the way, you said you have something to tell me. What is it?" I took her attention while fixing her hair. 

Her face turned into shock when she remembered. "Yes! Yes! It's a surprise! Good news mommy!" She comes closer to me, still has a wide smile.

I just wait. 

"You're already hired!" She jumped while clapping before hugging me for quick. "Are you happy?" She asked and looked at my expression. 

I saw how she was so disappointed about my reaction. What was she expecting? That I will jump? I don't know what she's saying!

"You do not?" She felt sad.

"No, it's not like that baby. I was just confused. Hired? Me?" My brow can't stop curving asking her. "What do you mean?"

My daughter didn't answer my question yet when the female employee that Viela was with earlier was the one who talked. I didn't notice that she was already in front of us. 

"I am Amanda, the assistant manager of this company and your daughter was telling the truth. I will email you all of the requirements that you need to have tomorrow." She said genuinely. "The CEO of the company hired you as secretary, congratulations."

Me? The CEO hired me? How? I know to myself I didn't attend the interview, so why me? I made Viela hold her backpack again before giving her to Trina and so I could talk to ma'am Amanda properly.

"But I didn't attend the interview, how come that I am the one who got hired?" I asked her.

She looked at my daughter in the back. "Your daughter has already done the interview, excuse me I still have a lot of work to do." She excused herself and left me here hanging out. 

Trina and I are both shocked about what ma'am Amanda said while Viela doesn't care because she was now playing Trina's phone. I really can't believe about Viela sometimes. Even though I'm her mom, sometimes I was surprised by what she knows and can do.

"She was smarter than me to pass that kind of interview, when I die I want to reincarnate as your daughter. I'm so tired of being dumb." Trina was looking at my daughter so amazed at the way that she was looking seriously to be my daughter in the next life.

I just shook my head even though I was also amazed. I gestured to Trina to start walking so we could go home because I was already tired and wanted to rest but when we reached the front exit, Viela suddenly approached the Guard. I thought she would say thank you or apologize but she suddenly pointed at me using her cute little finger which surprised me

"Do you see my mom?" Viela asked the guard with so much arrogance in her face. "The CEO of this company will marry my mom soon!"

I quickly covered my daughter's mouth when the staff suddenly looked at us because she said it loudly! WHAT THE H*LL!! My whole face turned red in embarrassment.
