ELOISE

We walked past the busy employees in the hallway, trying not to draw too much attention because of Adam’s commanding presence. It felt utterly ridiculous.

Then we reached the elevator and stepped inside with three other people looking our way. We descended to the parking level, and I sandwiched myself in the back row.

And there it was, his new car, a shiny black Rolls Royce, parked next to my Aston Martin, turning the parking area into a display of luxurious sports cars.

“Is that new?” I asked, raising an eyebrow.

“I couldn’t risk someone throwing up on my window again,” he joked, opening the passenger door. “Get in.”

I hesitated for a moment. “Where are we going? It’s my lunch break.”

He flashed a mischievous smile. “Then you’ll eat your lunch. Get in,” he repeated, gesturing for me to enter the car.

Adam took his place behind the wheel and began navigating his way out of the building. A fact crossed my mind when we hit the road.
