After giving a serious thought on what Emett said earlier, Fiel can’t sit tight and do nothing.

“Excuse us a bit dearie, “ Fiel’s lips twitch from her awkward smile. Grabbing both boys in their ears dragging them in a far corner of the playhouse. While Ava subconsciously nods in submission.

Her charms are a force to be reckoned with. Even more dangerous than that time hermit.

Meanwhile the three huddled.

“Did you hear that Em? She called you a time hermit, “ Thade chimes in teasing his friend.

“Tay, stop bullying Em.”

“Fine,” Thade pouted, yielding to Fiel’s words as he behaved himself.

Fiel then props her elbow over the back of her left hand, eyeing the two of them. “Now sit.”

Emett obeys on the fly while Thade scrunches his face. “We’re not your subjects. We are gods like you in case you forgot.”

“Then act like it, Tay.“ Fiel just batted her eye and vines started to swarm all over Thade’s body again, holding him in place.

Thade snickers, “I like it rough anyways.”

That caught her off guard no matter how many times he did that to her. Her face blushes and Emett just enjoys the comforting sight on the sidelines as always. Fiel changes the subject by getting his attention.

“Why are you always so calm and collected, Em? Though it’s not the case this time.”

His smile blooms naturally. “If I weren’t, who would keep you two at bay? Long before Thade knew he loved you, you would always duke it out in battle. The good old days.”

“W.what are you saying? It was her fault for not accepting my feelings at first, ” Thade protested.

“Is it getting loose I suppose. You can’t blame me for being attracted to you-we’re polar opposites,” Fiel replies and the vines tightened.

Thade’s smug look faded and replaced with a flustered one. “See? You’re good at being vicious. I loved you that way, not the delicate goddess those mortals pressed on you.”

“I am both. Love takes many shapes and the only thing that can transcend anywhere,” Fiel said as if looking at him intensely was enough to melt his rage and it did.

“You two cut it out. I know how much you’ve longed to see each other again. Don’t hold back, I’m good as invisible at this point,” Emett pacified both deities on time as always.

With his permission Thade and Fiel transformed into their full fledged selves. Both have ageless beauty like him, though human years they would be around  their twenties.

Thade had his jet black hair tied into a messy man bun. Strong jaw evident with his staple stubble on and bushy brows framing his steel blue eyes. His pale skin radiates against the blank ink on his skin. Being topless is his badge of honor. Showing off an oak tree tattoo from his back that stemmed its withered branches to his arms across his entire upper body. Though it doesn’t drown the presence of his chiseled abs. While he wore the same jet black color of wide legged pants that reached the floor as his bare feet stuck out. All his nails are also painted in black.

Fiel on the other hand transformed into a gorgeous woman. Her emerald hair is styled in side-swept waves towards the left accentuated by a hairpiece made with white lilies and pearls. Its soft curls fall perfectly framing her face. She wore a halter white gown that perfectly hugged her curvy body. Complementing her stunning olive skin. It has a plunging neckline with sheer details of lace and white butterfly embroidery from the waist down. While the rest of the trail is elegantly laid.

Without any second thought, Thade pulled Fiel closer pressing her body against his and shared a passionate kiss together. Catching up for the time they have been apart that felt like an eternity. While Ava almost wants to gouge her eyes out from afar. Not because she was trapped in a younger body but because she hated the sight of affection. Before she knew it she already felt Emett’s presence, making his way to face her.

“They really are a handful when it comes to admitting their feelings for each other openly. Thade is prideful while Fiel is doting it becomes her weakness most of the time.”

“That makes you an eternal third wheel then?” Ava said it out of spite expecting him to get angry but instead he beamed politely.

“You could say that. I loved those two so much I can’t stand seeing them apart,” Emett admits flashing her a school boy smile.

“You floored me actually. I didn’t peg you as the rule breaker. You were described as a rational and calm god but also distant.”

“Floored you? I haven’t heard that term since ages ago. Not directly I mean. You sounded like an old soul.“ He scratches the back of his nape. “Yes I was that god before not until those two lovebirds almost disappeared.”

Ava shrugs her shoulders, “though you’re more of an easygoing god based on my experience. I didn’t adore you or anything but you just betrayed my expectations.”

His mood shifted into a sullen one. “We all have those moments being a god doesn’t make an exemption. It makes it even worse for us. Just take Thade as an example, he despises humans because Fiel naturally loves and protects you.”

“And you, what were you doing the whole time aside from following the dreaded boring schedule? Did Omni ever rewarded you for doing a great job? I bet he just handed you down his responsibilities because he was lazy. I couldn’t blame him anyway, being a god is a thankless job. Humans only know you when they need something.”

“Is that how you felt back then too? When you called me out?” Emett’s eyes were seizing if she was not a soul at this point, she would’ve been breathless.

“I didn’t even say a word,” she replies, brushing off  her curiosity in line.

“Denial will get you nowhere Savannah.” That silenced her for a brief moment. It’s been so long since she’s been called that name. “If you really exist, save me if you think I’m worth it. If I don’t wake up after this, we’ll call it even. No hard feelings.”

Her face soured. “Hey, stop getting into people’s minds without permission. Didn’t you hear about data privacy?”

Emett bursts into laughter hearing that. “Gods don’t need to hear you speak to know,” he said trying to stifle yet another laugh. “We can’t silence your thoughts either. It’s the only way to understand you deeper.” Even though he’s still smiling it seemed like a pain to watch.

She read it as a complaint rather than a concern that’s why Ava has gotten more salty. “I was just being delirious back then so don’t get any weird ideas.”

“Humans are more honest with themselves with death at the door. I know as much.”

“Fine, if that’s the only way to get rid of your annoying grin and positivity.”

“It’s about time you agreed to it.” Emett touched the tip of her nose.

Ava grabs it and intensely glared at him with determined eyes. “I have one condition though,” she replied menacingly.

“Spill the beans.”

“You can’t use your powers to save me again.”

Emett grimaced because he was confident he wouldn’t have to either. “Deal.”

I’ll be able to prove my innocence before it even happens.

Thade still wanted to kiss Fiel deeper when she broke it off. Teleporting in front of Ava and Emett. Brows arched and hands on her waist. “You tricked us Em, what would thy keeper say if he finds out? Gods without their powers is a death sentence. That aside, I can’t have you sully one of my beloved humans for your boredom.”

“So you’re not really concerned about Em at all? Anyway, when that geezer finds out Em is already done with his vacation. Now can we finish where we left off?” He then cups her chin tilting it in a fine angle for a kiss.

When he was about to move a few inches to her lips she smacked his forehead. “I’m being serious. It’s impossible for Em to resist loving humans. I know that for a fact.”

Now Thade is not in the mood for flirting and is basically pissed. “Stop acting like an overbearing mother, they are not your children. Em is not like you. He knows his ways around the rules that geezer puts up.”

“Whatever you do, I’m just here to support you, Em. Don’t mind Fi, you know how she feels about those pests.” He taps Emett’s shoulder as he meets his eyes as if giving his son for marriage.

Ava clears her throat. “Excuse me? one of those pests you mean happens to be listening. Can’t you read the air?”

In a blink of an eye, Thade’s left hand is already wrapped around her neck. Eyes piercing with bloodlust. As if those stares were enough to vanish her into oblivion.

“You brat, I should say the same about you. Spouting nonsense to die in peace but actually begs to spare your life in the end. Get real!”

Fiel hugged Thade from behind but it happened too fast, he already  threw her off. Thankfully Emett made it to stop time protecting her from getting hit. After that he allowed everybody to move again.

“I know your sentiments, Tay but please don’t do it just because you can. What would happen if she flew off my domain? Her soul  will be infinitely trapped in time, even as a god it would be a pain to rescue her. Unless I ask for thy keeper’s help.”

“My bad just put a leash on that cat next time.”

“If dying now meant making the somber happy to see the love of his life through me- I’d pass on it for now.” Ava then sticks her tongue out.

“Your sick attitude as a  little girl grosses me out even more.”

Fiel then pacifies Thade by making him face her. “I could tell you the same thing, my love. Impatient as ever.” She said it sweetly but he trembled at her fingertips.

It’s better not to mess with Fi when she’s this mad. She might stand me up again when some random human dies. It’s the worst punishment ever.

Fiel eyes twinkles and smiles from ear to ear. “I’m glad we are on the same page, my love.”

“Fi...Tay, I’m sorry to cut your reunion short but we need to go.”

Thade smirks but eventually forces a smile when his eyes meet Fiel’s. Then both of them disappeared. The wooden playhouse morphed back into the scenic sight of Cirro.

“Is love so powerful that even gods grovel at its feet?” Ava is finally back in her original form.

“You make it sound like love is more of a punishment than a gift. Why did you choose to shut people out?”

“The same reason you had when you did and even now. I don’t want to get hurt anymore.”

Emett laughs dryly, “that hit home so close more than I expected.”

“Valuing someone gives you unsolicited fear that one day they will be taken away from you. Leaving a gaping hole in your heart when that familiar warmth is gone. Might as well jump the gun and leave first before getting hurt.”

“That’s a lie we tell ourselves to soothe our pride. We end up caring anyway but then deny ourselves when it crumbles.”

“Are you speaking from experience or you’re just humoring me? I can barely tell from your well made mask.”

“Is that so?” Emett grins widely as he stretches his arms upward. “Can you outlive me to find out?”

Ava pouts. “Now that’s just cheating.”

“It’s time, let’s go.” Emett takes out his hand and she takes it as they walk into a blinding light.
