Chapter 3

Gael sat in his office running his hand through his hair. “How is this still happening? Rogues are continuing to breach my defenses and they’ve taken another she-wolf.” The frustration was building and the tension in the pack rising.

“Gael we’ve tried different tactics on how to strengthen our border defenses and yet they still get in. What’s going to happen if they decide to attack?” Lance asked just as frustrated as Gael.

During those six years, Gael was named Alpha and took Amy as his chosen mate. He didn’t want to but a few years after Phoenix left he started to have pains.  They were excruciating. His wolf Ronan wouldn’t absorb the pain either, because he was still furious about losing his mate. Nobody knew about them, except Amy and the pack doctor, as he had to have powerful pain killers to function.  He was heartbroken to think that Phoenix was sexually active and evidently the sex she was having was strong. He still refused to mark Amy and fill her with his seed. His pack suffered as well, because only a true Alpha and Luna could bring a pack to its strongest. Ronan, still angry with his decision to deprive him of his mate, refused to allow him to shift. On one of those occasions that the rouges attacked he had to fight in his human form. So, he spend his time working out, ensuring that his human form was as strong as it could be. He often wondered about Phoenix and why he hadn’t seen her in all these years. She never came back to the pack to visit her family and friends. Did he damage her that much? She was probably even fatter than before and good riddance. Just as he finished that thought, he doubled over in pain and quickly opened his drawer to pop the large pill to quell the pain.

“Gael? You good?” Lance asked as he looked at Gael pale in color and doubled over. “Yeah man. Listen we need some help; I can’t have another pack member hurt or kidnapped. I think it’s time we contact the Elite Werewolf Academy to get some help here.  They can at least give us some direction on how to tighten up our borders and maybe some extensive training.” Lance nodded.

Lance knew that Phoenix lived at the academy and was the number one warrior.  He and his parents and Sonya had kept in contact with her. They facetimed each other, when she wasn’t on a mission. He prayed she didn’t get sent here. He never figured out the real reason she left, but if he did, he’d bring his wrath down.

Gael and his father made the call to the academy and spoke with Commander Kyle Winston who was more than happy to send a few warriors there to guide his pack. He said he would send three warriors and Gael and his father looked at each other. “Excuse me Commander Winston, but wouldn’t we need more than just three warriors?” Commander Winston chuckled, “Believe me the three I’m sending are more than enough. They’ll be there in one week.”

“Thank you sir, we appreciate the help.” Gael said as he ended the call.

“Dad what the hell are we going to do with three warriors?” He spat angrily.

“Son you are aware of what the academy actually does, right?” Gael shrugged and looked around.

“Not really. I mean I know that they are the best of the best.”

“Gael, they are the equivalent of the humans FBI, CIA and all those other covert groups. They aren’t called Elite for nothing. We’ll definitely learn something so be ready and on your best behavior. Make sure your “Luna” is on her best behavior as well.” Gael’s parents were not fans of Amy. She refused to stay in Luna training, she wouldn’t participate in warrior training. All she was good for was shopping and spending money. Also, she was nasty to the omegas and anyone who wasn’t ranked. It was no wonder the pack suffered since Gael and Amy took over.

Lance spread the news to his parents, and they were all concerned but they were also excited to perhaps get their Phoenix back. They were very on edge with all the rogue sightings.

Phoenix got a mindlink from Kyle. She shook her head thinking he wanted round two, but he called her and two of her comrades to come to the situation room. She headed right over sighing knowing there was another mission.  She loved going on missions. She preferred going alone, that way there was no one else to be concerned with, but she knew that when he called Ron and Tina it was serious.  They entered the room at the same time and were standing when Kyle entered.

“Major Greeley, Lieutenant Gibbs, and Sergeant at arms Dooley we have a mission. Please be at ease. Soldiers this is a walk in the park for you all, a vacay if you will. You’re needed to fortify one of the packs from the North, they have a rogue problem and some of their she-wolves have been kidnapped.  They need guidance in training and strengthening their borders. The duration of this mission is three months. Everything needed should be done in this time. You leave in five days. The pack is Silver Moon, with Alpha Gael Ryker.” Phoenix tensed. She bit her jaw.

“Commander, I’ll have to decline the mission.”

“For what reason Greeley?”

“To close. That’s my pack. I wouldn’t be useful.”

“Nonsense Greeley, that makes you perfect. You know the terrain and can get to the bottom of what’s really going on. You’re going.”

She bit her jaw so hard; she’d thought it crack. “Sir yes sir.” She stormed out of the room.

She practically ran back to her room and slammed the door. She paced the room, cursing to herself. She wasn’t ready to go back. She wanted to see her family and Sonya but that was all. She would be there on business; she’d have to deal with Gael and that made her stomach turn. She was stronger, actually she was stronger than any Alpha. Yeah, this would work. She’d be his superior. Then Freya, that voice in her head said, “Go and be what you are, a badass queen that doesn’t take any shit and has the balls to prove it.” Just as she was done getting herself in the right frame of mind, Kyle mindlinked her.

“Phoenix, come see me now!” She sighed and went to his room.

She stood outside his door knocked and waited for him to answer. He knew she was pissed. When she heard him tell her to enter, she opened the door.

“Yes sir.” She said with no emotion.

“Phoenix, I know you’re mad with me, but I think this will be good for you. I know that’s your home pack, but you are a soldier and our best. You’re needed and you’re going to have to learn how to deal with your mate.” She shot him a look.

“You know?” He chuckled.

I’ve been doing this for a while, and I can read people very well.  You weren’t a criminal, your father signed for your entrance without any mention of the current Alpha and anyone at 18 willing to leave their loving family is either running from a mate or an abusive family and from hearing you talk about your people it was definitely the former.” She dropped her head. “Go and show them what you’re made of and make that bastard see and regret what he tossed away.” She smiled and nodded “Now for the next five days, I’m going to fuck you senseless, in every way possible.” She licked and bit her lip.

The plane ride was quiet as the trio went over paperwork about the Silver Moon pack. Studying maps of the territory, trying to figure out how these rogues kept getting in. Something dawned on Phoenix.

“What if this was an inside job? I mean when have you ever heard of rogues taking she-wolves and attacking a pack, multiple times?

“It does seem fishy. First of all, rogues do not work together. That’s why they’re rogues. So, I know there’s more to that.” Ron said looking over the map. He was great at tactics. He could plan and execute the most elaborate stings and being covert was his specialty. Tina was a weapons expert, and a kickass martial artist. I myself was better than both. No horn tooting but I worked extremely hard to be where I am. I beat every cadet in the academy and all the higher rank staff, with the exception of Kyle. I always get him and have him at my mercy, but he does something sexual, and it throws me off. I can never take him seriously; but if it got down to it, I could beat his ass., so toot toot, bitches.

The plane landed and we started the two-hour car ride that would take us to Silver moon. I was a little excited to see my family. I didn’t tell them I was coming, but they’d know soon enough. The car pulled into the long driveway that led to the sentry’s shack. There was no one there. On the way to the packhouse Ron and I immediately pointed out weak points we saw on entry. As the car stopped in the roundabout in front of the packhouse, I couldn’t help but smile as the house was the exact same as I remembered.  My parents now lived in a house away from the packhouse and I decided I would spend my time there. The taxi came to a halt and Ron hopped out first. I broke out into a huge smile as I saw Lance standing on the porch, with Gael, Amy and the former Alpha and Luna. Tina got out next and I heard Gael shaking Ron’s hand welcoming him, thinking he was the lead warrior. Ron told him that he was the Lieutenant and that the Major would be the lead here. Gael then moved down to Tina and greeted her as Major, and she shook her head and nodded my way. Now I’m getting out of the car, and I can hear the audible gasps from everyone on the porch.

“Alpha Ryker, Major Greeley.” as I extended my hand. His eyes were wide as he took my hand in a weak shake, typical.

I heard “PHEE!!” and I knew who that was. Lance ran off the porch and crushed me in his arms and spun me around laughing.

“Lala, I missed you! As I kissed his face over and over again. “Look at you Lala, you’re huge, what have you been doing to yourself?” My brother bulked up like someone put a bicycle pump to him and just pumped to their hearts content. He had pecs and his biceps were incredible.  He had a couple of tatts, and his hair was shaved on the sides, and he was just a handsome devil.

“No Phee look at you!” he just shook his head. He was still holding me, but I could tell he was mindlinking mom and dad. “They’ll be here in a minute.”

“Let’s go meet them.” I said, looking over my shoulder, “Oh and Alpha we’ll be back for a meeting in an hour.” I didn’t wait for his reply as I walked off with Lance.

“Wow!” was what my dad kept saying at Phoenix. I had to admit I was at a loss for words myself.  She got out of the car, wearing some skinny jeans that hugged every luscious curve especially that ass. My dick twitched just thinking about what I could do with that ass. She had on a camo tank top that showcased those tits and her beautiful hair was curly, thick, long and full, it bounced when she walked. Of course, Amy didn’t have anything nice to say.

“So, we’re just going to take orders from that fat bitch? No thanks, I’m going shopping.”

“No, you aren’t Amy. You’re going to be here and available and you’ll be training just like the rest of us.”

“And if I don’t?” she’d hit that last nerve.

“You’ll be safely put in the dungeons where you can’t get hurt if there’s another attack.”

“You wouldn’t!”

“Try me and see.” I looked at her with all conviction. Part of me wanted her to try me. I couldn’t wait for this meeting.

I followed my father up to my office and once he poured himself a glass of scotch, he sat down and smiled at me. “So, what’s really going on son?”

Chapter 79Phoenix was busy with the finishing touches for the party tonight celebrating Kyle and Eden’s return. They’d been back in the pack for three days and tonight was the big deal. Gael came in fussing at her to go sit down somewhere because she was big as a house and needed to rest. Now normally those would be fighting words, but again, this pregnancy had Phoenix so chill that she just dismissed him and kept on until she was satisfied that everything was just so.Gael noticed that the weather had picked up, meaning the wind had increased, and the moisture in the air, so thick, signifying that a heavy rain was coming; and he frowned thinking that it may put a damper on the festivities, but this was an indoor party so Phoenix was unconcerned that the party would be ruined. The most that would happen is that people would get a little wet going into the venue. After securing that the food and alcohol were ready, Phoenix took Gael’s advice and went to lay down to rest. Gael came in,

Chapter 78Kyle dropped his head and even knowing that this was going to happen, it still felt like a kick to the gut. He reached out and held the still warm hand of the last remaining family member he had, and silent tears ran down his face. Eden held him, in a full hug, sobbing into his chest. She knew Uncle Ric from when she’d been in their pack, going to school and feeling like Kyle was her mate. She remembered the Alpha couple, Kyle’s parents, as they always treated her with love, and kindness. No one ever mistreated her there, that’s why it hurt so bad that Kyle disregarded her feelings like they’d never meant anything to each other once upon a time. It’s amazing how real love works, when it’s genuine. She found out from the Academy that the Commander’s uncle was in a bad way, and it took a day to get her affairs in order, and she was going to Kyle to support him however he needed. She showed up at the hospital and held back to give Kyle as much time as he needed to focus on Unc

  • Phoenix   Chapter 77

Chapter 77Phoenix sat on the porch in one of the rocking chairs reminiscing the birth of Hav and K. It was miraculous how they were born. It was the night of a full blood moon, a rarity in and of itself. She went into labor and even with all her Ulfheonar strength and Freya sharing the pain, it was excruciating, but when the time came for the boys to come into the world; it was uncanny how much peace and calm spread across the room.It was like her boys were secret agents and their presence couldn’t be detected by enemy forces. They slid out one by one in silence, like kids on the jungle gym sliding through the tube. No pushing on her part. They didn’t cry or fuss. Doc Simmons placed one on each breast and they fed like titans getting their fill.Speaking of peace and calm this little bundle of joy that she was carrying presently, rarely moved, never caused any discomfort or even made a peep. Carrying her was even soothing to Phoenix. Even Gael noticed how chill Phoenix was, even whe

Chapter 76Four years later…...Phoenix looked into the crib in awe once again over her beautiful boys. She held her, once again, pregnant tummy as she ran the back of her hand over the dimpled, rosy cheeks of these dark curly headed coils, like hers and those gray eyes; cuties, just like their dad. They had to sleep in the same crib, as they couldn’t be away from each other for long. This was a rare moment when the boys were sleeping. Their names weren’t as scary as they were led to believe. They always wanted to be involved, always wanted to help but there was always something extreme going on with them. They were appropriately nicknamed Hav and K, and they earned every bit of the havoc and chaos they caused.Phoenix was making some oatmeal on the stove, and she knew anything hot, electrical or medicinal had to be closely monitored by a team of individuals. She had Gael holding K and LaLa held Hav. That was the only assurance that nothing would happen.Once she got their plates made

Chapter 75Kyle grabbed Eden’s shoulders and shook her to keep her attention. She turned out of his hold completely done and ready to move on.“Kyle, don’t make this any more than it is. I’m going to find my own way. You should get back to the academy; among those you can trust.” She said that last word sarcastically. He strode back up to her and held her in his arms, still trying to explain and keep her there talking. Eden started looking around like she’d lost something. He began to look too.“Eden, baby, what are you looking for, I’ll help you.”“I’m looking for a fuck to give, but I’m fresh out.”She turned out of his arms and walked away. He was left standing there feeling like the whole world had come to an end. She, on the other hand, felt the world had just opened up and she was ready to embrace her destiny and become the force that nature intended. She ran all the way back to where they were staying and grabbed all her essentials and important paperwork and set off toward the
