2 Years Later…

My fingers danced across my keyboard as I accessed the security cameras in the warehouse my team was raiding. Six computer screens took up my line of vision on one side of the undercover van I was in. As I accessed all of the cameras I led my team to our destination.

This bust would bring us one step closer to completely infiltrate and destroy Ricci Enterprises and their extracurricular business arrangements, specifically in sex trafficking.

“Shit it smells in here,” Badger complained through her headset.

“Damn Buddha, what did we tell you about eating cheese before a raid!” Arrow added.

“Guys, focus!” Chief, interjected. I giggled to myself at my team. Even in a dire situation, such as this, my team knew how to keep things amusing.

“Phantom, how far out are we?” Chief asked me as they turned down another abandoned hallway. They called me Phantom, because of my ability to infiltrate the cyber world, while going unseen on the dark web. My hacking skills were known around the world however my identity remained a secret. I was known as Phantom, because no one knew who I was. I made sure of it. All of us went by code names to ensure another level of security.

“You're almost there. Next door on your right,” I directed.

As they opened the door I heard Badger gasp and curse. I stopped typing. “What is it?” I tried to remain calm, squinting at the screens to get a better view.

“We found the smell…..” Arrow stated before Badger could.

“It definitely wasn’t my ass.” Buddha grumbled.

“Fuck!” Whispered Chief.

As I accessed the camera for the last room a gasp left me. Three cages filled with dead bodies could be seen as clear as day. Before the cages, was a large framed male bleeding out. With their guns drawn, my team circled the man on the ground.

“Who is it?” I was unable to get a good view of the person's face.

“It’s Moretti.” Arrow confirmed. Fuck! Lorenzo Moretti was the key to getting to Ricci.

“The place was attacked before we got here.” Badger added.

“It looks like they didn’t want any loose ends.” Buddha concluded. “No signs of life.”

I cursed and ran my hands through my long brown hair. I closed my eyes and tried to calm my racing heart.

I’ve been a phantom since as long as I can remember. Always listening, but not being seen. I was a pro at staying quiet and unseen. I've always had a passion for computer programming and hacking. My mothers last words always in the forefront of my mind.

Don’t let him see you.

All I could think about was how this mission was supposed to bring me closer to redemption. All I could think about was my mother trapped in an insane asylum because my stepfather put her there. A failure would mean she would be stuck there longer. I knew she wasn’t insane. I knew from all my “observing” she had caught on to my step father’s extracurricular activities and his role in my father’s death.

As I watched the screens that lined the side of the undercover van, my team exited the warehouse. The homicide unit had already shown up with ambulances and a forensic specialists team led by our friend and team member Zombie, Dr. Dante Spinelli. We would know soon if the deceased matched the missing persons reports that we had gathered.

My team hopped in the undercover van that was a block away from the warehouse. All of them knew how important this mission was. They have been with me since I was 18 when Chief Flemming caught me hacking into some government databases. They were the only family I needed after my stepfather had admitted my mother to the same asylum, and my sister was sent off to private school. Matthew was out on deployment, and I was left with no one, only my thoughts and my burning rage for revenge.

Buddha was the first to give me a hug. The rest of the team knew I needed time to sort through my thoughts, but there was nothing like a Buddha hug. Buddha, also known as Patrick Parsons, was a walking contradiction. He looked like the Rock with his bald bronze head, packed muscles, and tattoos cascading up his arms and all over his chest. He looked like a beast, but in reality, he was a gentle giant. Although his personality was soft. His artillery skills were one of the sharpest in the world. His knowledge for weapons and ammunition were out of this world.

Arrow, also known as Aaron Nelson, nudged me with his shoulder as he sat next to me. He didn’t need to say anything. I knew I would see him later and he would fuck the anger out of me. At work we were strictly coworkers, but outside of work, he was my personal porn star. Who could say no to blonde hair and dark eyes. He looked like Justin Hartley as Oliver queen which just made his nickname even more ironic. He was the most skilled archer in the world. Guns were nothing to him. He was more lethal with an arrow. He truly was a real life superhero with not only his skill on the team, but also in the bedroom.

Chief and Badger got in the front. “ we will get them, Evie.” Badger promised, looking back at me. I never had a lot of girlfriends, but she was my absolute best friend. Jessica Fitzgerald got the nickname Badger because of how lethal she was. She specialized in jujitsu, martial arts, and hands on combat. Like the honey badger, they seem cute, cuddly and innocent; however piss one off and they are deadly. The blonde bombshell, had her long blonde hair in a tight high bun.She propped up her long legs on the dash. Her piercing green eyes promised me the revenge that we both so desperately wanted. Her family was also affected by Ricci Enterprises. This operation was just as important and personal to her as it was to me.

Chief grunted in agreement. He was like a dad to all of us, although he was only 10 years older, my senior. Chief Derrick Flemming, was a decorated Marine. He had more tours under his belt and mission successes than any of his seniors. He kept his dark brown hair short in a military cut, gray speckled on his sideburns, and on his neatly trimmed beard. Sleeves of tattoos covered mass amounts of burn scars on his arms. Only those close with him understood where those scars came from and why this unit was created. All of us on the team had some sort of connection to Ricci Enterprises. All of us wanted to destroy it and its leader.

Pulling up to base, we unloaded our gear and parked the van in the garage out back. Our base was a warehouse building disguised as an elite gym. In the front was Domino’s Gym, owned by Chief. In the back of the warehouse, was all the government equipment we could ask for. To patrons, our team all worked at the gym. Badger was in charge of martial arts and kickboxing classes, while Buddha was in charge of weight training and yoga classes. Arrow and Chief ran self defense classes and helped oversee operations

I however did everything in the background, ensuring that the disguise of the gym never be revealed along with vetting all of the elite members of the facility. The gym helped explain why all the guys were bulked with muscle, and helped cover our tracks in case anyone ever tried to go after us along with something to put on our resumes. The US government knew about our team and base. Being a special ops team, had its perks. We were designed for a specific purpose: Mission R.

After everything was unloaded and parked, we all parted our separate ways. Buddha and Badger went to clean their guns, while Chief went to his office to go over paperwork for our next missions and undercover roles. Arrow followed me to Bug.

He shook his head at my car, “when are you going to get a new car, she’s seen better days.”

I glared at him and pet the roof of my baby. “Don’t listen to him Bug, he’s just jealous that I ride you more than ride him.” I stuck my tongue out at him as he chuckled.

He bit my tongue before I could put it back in my mouth and released it. “I’ll meet you at your place. I look forward to you riding me.” He winked and smiled before pecking me on the lips while palming my ass. I nodded in agreement before he turned to walk to his blacked out Jeep Wrangler. I bit my lip as I took a glance at his perfect ass. I couldn’t wait to get lost in any other feeling than the feelings of defeat of the mission.

Pulling into the lot for my apartment building, I took a second once parked to take a couple deep breaths and rested my forehead against the steering wheel. We were so fucking close today. Before I allowed myself to spiral, I jumped out of my car and fast walked to the apartment building. The building wasn’t fancy by any means, but it was secure and inconspicuous. Opening my door, Alfredo, my cream colored cat sat patiently waiting for our daily ritual. I picked him up and held him like a baby. He purred instantly, alleviating some of the tension I held. I kissed his head and put him on my couch to then drape a blanket over him and the top of the sofa to make a little fort. It was his favorite and something we always did when I came home. Some might think I have some screws loose, I just call it being a great cat mom.My apartment was a simple garden style, with 2 bedrooms and one bathroom. Its open concept in the living and dining area made the space seem bigger than it really was

I had no desire to speak to the man, especially since he called a little over an hour ago, which I ignored. “Romano” I said, hitting the speaker button and leaning back in my office chair.“Care to share with me why it’s taking so fucking long for us to figure who planned the attack on my warehouse?” Ricci boomed through the phone. “Well good morning to you too” I grumbled, knowing how this conversation was going to go. “Oh don’t give me that bullshit Kade, we both know that the pleasantries are long gone. If your father was still alive..”Before he could finish, interrupted, “Well he’s not. So I will have to do. Unless you want to find another security firm that's willing to deal with all facets of your business.” My tone was cool and straight forward. Phantom, we need to talk about your next undercover assignment.” Chief motioned for me to take a seat across from him at his desk.“Tomorrow you will report to RSS (Romano security systems) as a candidate for their cyber security specialist position. “Ricci is a huge client of Romanos and is the best way for us to intercept information now that he’s covering his tracks even more because of the warehouse incident.”We went through my cover story as Evelyn Mower (my mother’s maiden last name). We kept everything as close to the truth as possible so when Romano pulled up my information there would be no way he could find discrepancies. Chief ended our conversation with, “Under no circumstances can Ricci identify you while you are at RSS. It will not only blow your cover but, potentially risk a full out war with the Mafia.” I nodded in understanding and walked out of his office. The next morning I opted out of my usual jeans, converse, and a tee shirt to corporate America's lady boss

Kade POVI don’t know what I expected from Evelyn Mowers, but it certainly was not this. Not only was she gorgeous, which was emphasized by her outfit that fit her curves just right, her last question threw me off guard. It was a bold question, but I couldn’t help but admire her confidence that came through as she spoke. I by no means thought I was a good man. You couldn’t be when you were the Don of the Italian Mafia. I killed those who wronged me or my family. However, I lived by a specific code, that my father and grandfather refused to live by. Following this code of ethics, allowed me to avoid unnecessary casualties and kept me from law enforcement's radar. After my father died from a heart attack over a year ago, I was forced to take on his empire along with his reputation as The Reaper. One could not get this name without being considered a monster. Although the reputation did keep my enemies in line, it also meant I acquired relationships like Anthony Ricci, that I did not w

Evelyn POV:The Hive was not at all what I thought it would be nor were the team members what I envisioned. With RSS prestige reputation, I figured I would be walking into a stuffy, black tie, office with everything in pristine order. Instead I was pleasantly surprised by a welcoming room with people dressed casually.A short curvy blonde named Lennie was the first to say hello. Her face was priceless when she was caught with a piece of pizza hanging from her mouth. Once seated, Lennie overviewed the purpose of the Hive. A tall, skinny male with shaggy brown hair and brown eyes stared at me with a blank expression as he sat across from me. His faded band t-shirt and jeans looked wrinkled as if he hadn't had any sleep in days. If I had to guess, that was Jax. Next to him was a tall red head, a woman with delicate features. She was naturally beautiful which was accentuated with a dusting of freckles along her cheeks and the bridge of her nose. She had a beaming smile and green eyes t

EVELYN POVAs I pulled up to Domino's Gym, I noticed the familiar vehicles of my team. I was surprised they all beat me when usually I was the first one to show up for meetings. I walked into the main entry of the gym and was greeted by our regular clients. Buddha was in the weight room spotting Arrow on the bench press. As soon as Buddha noticed me, a wide grin filled his face. It was their queue that it was time for the meeting. The conference room was located on the far side of the gym, hidden by a set of double doors that read “employees only.” I placed my hand on the scanner so it could read my handprint. It was a security measure that ensured that no patron would access the area. The scanner beeped and allowed me access through the doors. The bare hallway illuminated as I walked down the hallway that led to the conference room. The conference room was large with a huge oak table sat in the middle. On the back wall lined artillery and tech gear. Adjacent hung a large screen to

Evelyn POV As I entered the skyscraper of RSS, I was greeted by the friendly face of Lennie. She handed me my badge and guided me through security. One of the security officers chuckled when he saw the contents of my bag. Snoozie slippers, marshmallows, a massive yeti filled with coffee, and a framed picture of me and Alfredo. My face heated. I couldn’t help that I needed certain things in order to function and if I wanted to make this look real I needed to personalize my office space. “Welcome Ms. Mowers. I hope you enjoy your marshmallows.” The officer greeted me. Lennie looked confused until she saw my bag. “You’ll fit in just fine. Don’t worry.” Lennie said, giving my arm a little squeeze. As we entered the Hive, I was greeted by Gwen and Ollie. Jax barely spared a glance my way and continued to tap away on his keyboard. As I got settled, I booted up my work computer and put in my credentials. That’s when I noticed my task list along with the rest of the team. Annoyed as I r

Kade POV“Who ratted on Ricci’s shipment? I won’t ask you again.” I rested my hands on the two armrests that our current captive was tied to. We had been at this for over 2 hours. We needed to find out if Ricci was the one messing with our shipments now that one of his had been hit. But first we needed to know who attacked Ricci. “I swear man, I have no idea. I’m just a transporter for him. No one tells me anything.” The gaunt faced man cried. His little beady eyes filled with tears. I sighed and scrubbed a hand down my face. I squeezed Machine’s shoulder for him to take over. An evil grin took over Evan’s face. The guy had too many loose screws in his head. But that was why I also needed him. He was notorious for getting information. Twirling a knife in his hand he stalked towards the bloody man in the chair. “We are going to play a little game. We slowly got into a routine with our newly formed family. Everything felt like it was slowly moving into place. Except for the radio silence, my sister had all of us on edge. We knew something was brewing. It was just a matter of time. For now, we would continue our lives as normal as we could. I had become an official partner for RSS and was working on liquidating all of Ricci Enterprise with the help of the Hive and my R-Team. The new headquarters and gym would be opening in a couple more weeks which had Buddha, Badger, Bodhi, and Chief extremely busy. I had helped name one particular wing that was designated for our training, specifically the mock missions training. The wing was named “Eye of Arrow” with a looped arrow symbol next to it to signify overcoming obstacles and solutions. Ever since our beautiful baby girl had been born, there seemed to be something going on between Badger and Machine. Both of them would look at the other longingly when the other wasn’t looking. Kade

I looked at the mother of my beautiful, healthy baby girl. She was asleep on the hospital bed, looking at peace. After a gruesome labor of 28 hours, the woman deserved the rest. She had been such a trooper through the entire thing. Proving that my woman had bigger balls than most men I knew. A knock sounded on the wooden door before Buddha peaked his head in. I narrowed my brows. “How did you get past security?” I asked him slightly. Buddha gave me a broad smile. “I look like security. Didn’t take much. Told them I was meeting my boss to take up a post outside Evelyn’s room.” I rolled my eyes fully understanding why the young receptionist would believe that to be true. He walked into the room with a bouquet made out of balloons and marshmallows. My phone vibrated with a message. When I looked at the screen it was a text from Buddha in the newly made group chat. Buddha 🧘🧘: I have made it to where the target is. Chief 🇺🇸: excellent! Let us know when we can visit. I will be in

8 Months LaterKade POV “Babe, we are going to be late!” I called out to Evelyn as I looked in the hallway mirror as I straightened my tie. Today was the grand opening of my new club, Oasis that was once called Olympus and owned by Ricci. Machine and I had worked hard making the space into an elegant yet erotic atmosphere. With a color palette of Deep Red and black with accents of crystal, we were able to achieve our goal. Never would this club be home to sex trafficking ever again. Tonight we would be showing our hard work off to our loved ones and the new elite members of the club. “Coming!” Evelyn yelled out from our bedroom. I heard her breathing heavily as she walked down the hall. She held her impressive baby bump as she walked. She looked breathtaking in a black satin floor-length gown that was tailored perfectly to her curves. Her hair was down and soft waves, which were calling me to run my hands through them. Evelyn was officially living with me in the penthouse after pu

Kade POV Evelyn began to rock her hips over my hardening length as we devoured each other. My hands roamed from her breasts, her back, and then to her delectable ass. I let out a groan as I squeezed both ass cheeks in my hands. I removed my lips from hers and began to leave open-mouthed kisses down her jaw to her throat before standing up while continuing to hold Evelyn in my arms. She squealed at the sudden movement and locked her legs around me koala-style. She ran her hands through my hair as she nipped and sucked my neck and earlobe. I could feel the heat of her core on my waist as I walked closer to the bedroom. I could feel my cock dripping already with precum. I needed to be inside her. I kicked the door behind me and placed my girl on the bed before tearing off my and her clothes in record time. I tried to slow down, but the caveman in me had a primal need that had to be fulfilled. Sure as shit, Evelyn had texted me for the first time since our last intimate night together. I rinsed out my mouth and sent Badger a text, asking for her to bring me some soup and saltines. She called me seconds later, talking a mile a minute.“Do you think it’s the flu?” Badger asked over the phone. We were on number five of questions to determine why I was sick.I rested my head on the back rest of the sofa and placed my cellphone on my chest with Badger on speaker. “No. I don’t have a fever or anything.” I had no energy today. In fact, I progressively had been feeling run down for the past week. Badger went silent on the other end of the phone, making me look at the screen to make sure she was still on the line. “Jess?” “Yeah I’m here. I need to ask you something but promise not to freak out?” I rolled my eyes. “We both know you are going to ask regardless.” I laughed at my joke. “That’s beside the point.” “Badge, just ask! Evelyn POVAll but Kade left my apartment. Matt apologized to Kade but also let him know that he knew about Kade’s skeletons in his closet before leaving the apartment. Kade sat on the sofa with Alfredo curled up in his arms. Seeing them together made me want to snap a picture but thought better of it. He was the one that pushed me away. “You know you are going to leave here covered in fur right?” Kade looked up at me as he continued to scratch behind one of Alfredo’s ears. “I missed this guy.” He looked back down at his furry friend. This statement took me by surprise before anger set in. “Kade, I need you to leave.”Kade looked back up at me, surprise in his expression. “What?”“You heard me.” I held the tears back that were threatening to spill from my eyes. Kade stood up with Alfredo in his arms who meowed in protest at the movement. “Evelyn,” He whispered. No need to get physical.” Buddha stated in a calm voice. I glanced at Chief with a weary expression. This could get out of hand quickly. Matt sighed. “I needed to have Anthony’s files in a vulnerable state so I could access them.” What the fuck?“Why go through all this trouble when you could have asked him?” Machine asked as he took a sip of his beer.
