He noticed that she walked slowly, her hands behind her back which was slightly bent and a bulge on it before they reached the garden and she was sitting on a table that had two mugs with steams coming out of each one on it.

"Had you been expecting someone else?" Loukas asked as he slipped into the empty seat infront of her.

She gave him a smile. "Not exactly. I knew you would come."

"How?"

"You asked Achilles of me and I was a competition in our little game with Leonidas so you would eventually come to meet me. Plus, I saw you in the room."

He blanked, "That is impossible. I was hidden."

"The darkness does not hide everything," She replied. "It might hide your face but I could still feel your presence."

"That is something a Pharmakis would say,"

She smiled at him "How would you know? Have you met one?"

"No," He replied. "But it is weird, and they are supposed to be weird."

"Right," She said with a chuckle.

They sat in silence for a while, Persephone sipping on her tea and looking at

"I do not know if I can do this,"Persephone stood on the frozen lake now, her arm around her barely covered body as she stared at her reflection below her.She looked calm. Perfectly collected but she knew it was because she had perfected the act of pretense and this was only what this was.Pretense.The sprites that had left the lake now surrounded her, their blue lights bringing some sort of haze through the darkness of the night as more snow fell, their buzzing sounds loud as they spoke to her.You can. Trust him.A small sad chuckle left her lips with some steam as she said, "I have always trusted Leonidas. Maybe now it is a little bit too much. Is it wrong? That I feel this way?"Sometimes we get hurt by the people we love because we put so much hope in them and they are never perfect enough to do as we want."It is scary," She said breathing out again as she looked up at the sky, the dark sky overflowing with stars that glared down at her. "Even they seem to have some sort of m

Most people say that the death of a loved one is the most painful thing of all.Others, the moment when you feel your heart is wretched out by the one person you thought would never do such a thing. But Leonidas Aetos was not sure which one hurt the most.He had returned back to his Castle, first going to Loukas' room that looked so perfectly clean and arranged, something Loukas could never do on his own and sat on the male's bed.It had been cold.Leonidas could not believe Loukas would never lay on that bed again. After he had left, the first thing that came to his mind was to return and ask for Loukas' body but he knew that he was risking his sanity by going and seeing her again. He knew that he had not given her any chance to explain herself and it was only because he knew that if she did, he would try to ignore the fact that she had blood on her hands. That she, was not alright.Maybe it had been his fault, maybe if he had never met her, she would have kept staying at her side of

"I cannot believe that this is happening!" Michalis Laskaris had said for the umpteenth time as they all sat in his Father's study.Him at the head of the table, Orion Laskaris next to his Father who was at Leonidas' left and Charilaus, quiet ever since his arrival, was at the right."Your Father is the only high Family member that was killed that way," Orion said to Leonidas. "The other deaths are just starting from the root.""And Gerasimus?" Leonidas asked."He was murdered," Orion said with a grim expression. "Differently.""This is the reason why we do not deal with Pharmakis in the first place!" Michalis suddenly snapped, "She said that he would come after us and yet we did not listen! Now he is coming back to kill us one by one!"Leonidas did not need a Soothsayer to tell him who they were talking about. "Who is doing the killings?""We believe it to be the Ares Familia.""Led by Kostas?""No. Kostas is dead. It is led by Achilles."Leonidas blanked, the statement hanging over

"Do you think that it is alright to give the Hermes and Hestia Familias such privileges?"The meeting had ended with Leonidas asking Orion to round up the young males and Artemis Familias that would fight, saying that they would find a way to think of the other Familia women."And what exactly are this privileges you speak of?" Leonidas asked. "Food? Their own rights on their own land?""Most of the foods and vegetables had been rationed to the Familias," Orion replied, his voice holding no malice but a need to be understood. "So that they would be enough for the Gathering."The Gathering.Leonidas had forgotten about that."It would be cancelled," Leonidas said with a low sigh. "With the rate at which people are dying, I doubt that all Familias in one place would not lead to a massacre of its own. The food for the Gathering would be allotted to the Hermes and Hestia Familias then, but if need be, we would reach out to our own portion of it. They are doing us a favour that they do not

Persephone sat on the carpet, her eyes closed with the wind in the desert whistling loudly behind her, the door of the tent flapping with the wind noisily.Every part of her felt at peace for the first time in a while, her thoughts settling down finally as the wind blew through her hair. The presence of someone else quickly brought her out of her trance as she quickly wore back her mask and stood, tension rising through her before she heard the voice say, "I thought you would be here."Persephone calmed, turning as she saw the familiar face. "Cleon,"The male chuckled when he reached her, a saucer in his hand that had a piece of pie on it as he said, "Cleon is my Renatus given name, Christopher is my birth name, but you can call me whichever. Here, I brought this for you."Persephone hugged him immediately he was close enough, her hands nearly squeezing the life out of him as she said, "I missed you.""I missed you as well,"When she pulled away, she took the plate from him, her hand

Reaching Castle Eliades with her mask still on her face, she heard the sounds of the men laughing somewhere in the hall, perhaps celebrating with the rebels that had now joined them for the new food they had gotten after raiding through the houses."Lady Achlys,"She paused in her walk, turning around to look at the man behind as he knelt. "Ah only came tae pay respect."She stared down at him, saying nothing. It was no new news that the Ares Familias treated her like a goddess even though they knew who she really was and though Achilles was the new ruler, she had been the one to kill Gerasimus.Plus, she was the one who did most of the killings, something they adored her for.She hated it.Saying nothing, she turned around and kept walking down the hall only stopping at her chambers then entering, the room making her let out a small breath of relief.Persephone walked to the mirror in the place, removing her mask as she stared at her reflection. The brown of her hair was barely obvio

The swords clashed against one another, a determined look in his eyes as he let out a gruff sound, pushing the other male and making a sharp lunge before managing to deflect the sword and shoving his Caretaker to the ground, his sword at his right.Heavy pants escaped Leonidas' lips as he pointed the tip of his sword at the man, his hair wet and sticky all over his face as he heard a voice say, "He is not the enemy, Leonidas."He did not bother to turn at first, just kept staring at the male that was on the floor before throwing his sword to a side and giving him a hand. His Caretaker took it gratefully, a small grateful word leaving his lips as he stood and dusted his clothes while Leonidas finally turned, meeting an Orion holding a tray with water, a jug and fruits on it.He walked to the round table, taking a seat with Orion doing so as well, sliding the tray to Leonidas before crossing his legs and leaning on the back of his chair. "Good morning,"Leonidas did not bother to reply.

He had not been there since that night, but it did not mean that he had not wanted to go back there, he had just only feared that she would be there, waiting for him, just like she always was.Waiting for him because she knew that all roads eventually led to her.Yes, everyone believed she was dead and it was her soul hunting down Renatus but he knew that even if Persephone was killed, her soul would never kill innocent people in a rage. That's if one could call them for innocent for the stupid things they had done and said about her, the rumours themselves had made him throw his food at a guard that had been speaking next to him.He reached the Cabin early enough with the snow now less than he can remember, his eyes looking past the trees to the lake they had danced but he tore his eyes away from it, looking back at the Cabin.Everywhere looked closed and empty, but there was no iota of snow anywhere on the threshold giving him a thought that she might have remained here, possibly pr

It had been eighteen years since the war had come to an end.Since rumours and rumours about what had caused it appeared. They said that the citizens of Renatus had disobeyed the gods and had been punished adequately for their sins. That the god Zeus had been killed but had resurrected eventually. That Olympus had gone into chaos because demons from the Underworld escaped and possessed some people, mainly the Ares Familias (which they said was highly easy considering the fact they barely had a brain to think for themselves and that their souls were easy to corrupt)But the strongest rumour had been about a Pharmakis.Though most did not know her name, the few that did barely spoke it. They said that the god who ruled the dead lost his wife and used his dark magic to raise her, the darkness corrupting her and when the Council of Renatus punished her for her crimes, she cursed the land and started the war singlehandedly, or perhaps with her husband's help. However, her name was only use

The day that Persephone Aetos gave birth, the whole world stayed silent.Leonidas was made to sit outside on the porch, the darkness making it impossible to make sense of anything because it seemed that the moon had fixed itself at their living room window, shining it's light only on her. And particularly because of the fact there was no one sound from anywhere else, Leonidas could hear her screams louder than he had thought he would have to.It pulled at his heart and squeezed, making every breath he took hurt as Circe and Kleopatra sat next to him, their presence seeming like they aimed to calm him down, which he was grateful for, but then after a while of shrieks and scream, he heard nothing. The birds chirped again, the wind blowing soundly as if they were glad it was all over, before he heard the sound of someone wailing loudly.Leonidas stood to his feet and turned as the Cabin's door opened, revealing a Cleon with gloves and a sort of net over his head, his eyes glassy while h

"It is usually customary for families to have their portraits being drawn after the wife delivers," Loukas said softly. "Or that is what I heard and since we- We might not, I thought that I should- Just have it done now," Then he chuckled. "Fani and I found it- Exceedingly hard to hand this one over because no matter how hard I tried to replicate it, I could not. Is it- Is it alright?"Persephone felt the emotions choke her the more she looked at the painting, her eyes begging to tear up again though she fought the urge, turning to a silent Leonidas. He was looking at the painting as well, all the humor gone from his face."Leonidas," Persephone hoped that this had not ruined his mood. And when she saw him smile, she knew it did not. "You can have it."Loukas stared wide eyed. "I-I can?""Honest?" Fani asked.Leonidas nodded, "I already have enough things to remember her by. You both do not, so you can have it."Fani already had her eyes glistening while Loukas tried to look unbothere

She woke up with the rain.Leonidas had his hand around her body, his face buried into her neck while she stared outside the window of the Cabin, her breath steadying. She was cold and though he was keeping her warm, she wanted to walk around because her back hurt.So Persephone slowly peeled his hand off her body, the male making a small displeasing sound though he did not wake up and she stood up from the bed, staring at him.His hair as always danced all over his face and it made her smile, bending to brush the ones on it and kissing her forehead.Minutes later she had on a robe, a cup of tea in her hand as she stared at the raindrops on the glass, her other hand on her stomach. The day was getting close.Persephone before had found it hard to wake up everyday when she knew with each day, she got closer to giving birth but lately Leonidas barely even gave her room to have her own thoughts. He stuck to her so tightly that she even sometimes wished he would let her be for a while. So

Though she did not want to let him touch her, her feet did hurt and she sat, Achilles sitting on the grass as he held her blistering feet, his rough hands pressing them before she said, "Why are you here?"It was an odd thing to see such a huge man in such a manner as he was, but Achilles was everything odd. "The triplets and Mother sent me. Basically they wanted me to see if you were alright here, and they had things they wanted me to give you.""Not a snakes egg I presume?"Achilles smiled, "No. Not that.""Then what?" She asked then when he did not answer, said, "It is a snakes egg, is it not? By the gods Achilles, I will not let a boa constrictor live around my son.""No," Achilles was chuckling. "Mother personally picked this one. It is harmless and smaller. I already handed it over to Artemis when I came. She would train it when it hatches till you give birth."Persephone was staring at him questionably but said, "Alright. How are the men?""They ask of you endlessly," He replie

Persephone woke with her eyes falling on the figure seated in a chair infront of her. "What are you doing?" Leonidas paused, looking up from the book he was reading, a small smile coming to his lips. "Good morning," She smiled too. "Morning." He raised the book in his hand. "Reading. I found it a bit hard to sleep so I decided to see what you like about them." She chuckled, "And?" "It cures boredom until your favourite person wakes up and you want to throw the book to the wall cause you do not really like it," Leonidas said, setting the book down on the table as he walked to the edge of the bed and sat on it, brushing away a strand of hair from her face. "How are my two favorite people doing?" Persephone knew that he had no idea how those words made her feel but she smiled, bathing in his love. "We are kicking. That is what he is doing and that is why I woke up. With a kick." Leonidas chuckled. "Want me to punish him?" Her eyes glazed over. "Are you really about to do that, Leo

Now that he was aware who he was, his body suddenly tingled, goosebumps appearing as he stood, ready to bow before he heard him say, "I am not really into the bowing thing, that is for the other children at Olympus.""Oh," Leonidas said, "Y-You wanted to see Persephone?"His eyes glazed "I cannot enter the Temple, you are only there by pure grace. Plus, leaving home was near impossible now that Persephone is home. I am here to see you.""Me?""A little birdie tells me you are making my goddaughter miserable," Hades said, taking a step forward "Now, I did not come to threaten you but it is very hard to not watch your extremely beautiful face curl into fear."Leonidas' fear itself was rising and jumping over mountains. "I-"Hades raised a hand. "No explanations. It makes me want you dead more," Then he walked to the edge. "You know the first time I saw you? It was your fourteenth birthday I believe, your friends and Koinõnos were skinny dipping in the spring around your Castle, but you

It had only been weeks but to Leonidas, he felt like it had been years. Staying in the temple while he watched everyone live like nothing was happening. Like Persephone could not just- He had met Fani, her new Koinõnos who for some reason, he could not stand, perhaps because of the way it seemed like she had a bounce in everything she did. Plus, she was attached to the one goddess he knew he would never like. Athena. Athena, unlike her sister Artemis, did not even try to sugarcoat her hate, and it was not because of what he did to Persephone, no, it was just because she felt he was weak and she could not stand it. However, Athena adored Fani, the two being strong opposites as Fani was soft and sweet while Athena was everything that Leonidas did not like her. Proud. Haughty. Athena. Loukas had apologized on the other hand on how Artemis had behaved on the beach. Asides from the fact he had explained that the Temple doors led one anywhere they wanted, as long as they thought i

Leonidas stood, his head pounding again as his legs shook but he managed to get his body moving while he followed Loukas who was at the door, walking out of it and finding himself outside. And not just outside. On a beach.Leonidas wondered how that had happened since they just walked out of his room but shut it off as something less important. The sand felt cold under his feet, but the sun shone heavily, perhaps not affected by the winter storm below before he saw Loukas standing at the edge of the water and joined him, his eyes meeting the figure at the sea."They always dress like that," Loukas said, his eyes still on the woman. "Men are not allowed in the temple because they always try taking advantage of them but I am allowed because I do not care for women and you- Well, you will survive."She had blond hair and a lithe curvaceous body, the dress she had on wet and sticking to her body, showing everything that it was not supposed to as she kept flickering her hand over a body.Y
