Being in love was supposed to feel beautiful, Simon thought, so how come he felt like a piece of trash? He was at a bar, nestling a beer bottle in his mouth. He promised himself to have just one bottle and go home. He needed to clear his head; that was all. As he drank his beer, different thoughts ran through his mind, and one of them included the fact that he would never go back to being the man he used to be again. Three years ago… They dwelled together in Southern California. They resided in a beach house just a coupla miles walk from the ocean. Shane gawked at the seashore. The gusty wind whistled in his ears. The ocean swirled, the waves clasped together, and touched his feet before it retreated.
