Ana slowly felt a little better, not a lot, but the subject was too sobering for her. “If I believe this… Wait. No, if this happens, I can’t expect you to risk yourself harbouring me. This is insanity to think it wouldn’t come back to haunt you and yours. The Empire wouldn’t hesitate to attack if they discovered you were harbouring a Blood Traitor.”

“I have a feeling the last place they will look for you is within a territory run by a shifter. What sane shifter would allow a vampire, let alone two, reside within their territory?”

Allan responded to Ana’s questions.

“Why would you do this? What is your motive for doing this? What do you want from this at the end?” Ana wasn’t foolish enough to just hand herself over to just anyone. It didn’t take anything but a little imagination and a small amount of knowledge to create a false vision or prophecy.

Now Ana regretted drinking as much as she did. Her thoughts were slower than they usually were, and it wasn’t a feeling she liked
