Chapter Four•

"What was that all about?" he questioned.
"I just thought it was right to get your married and.."Lucinda said and was cut short."No one asked you to plan any marriage mother. I'm not looking for a wife."he stated.
"And you're not getting any younger too Leonard." she fired at him."Thirty isn't old mother." He argued.
"I don't care. I've said what I want. I like the girl and you must marry her. You have no choice in this matter." she said firmly.He stared at her and walked away. It was quite pointless to banter words with her when her mind was made up.
His mother was quite stubborn. He had never for once gone against her wish before but this time around,she won't pressurize him into a marriage he didn't want..

The bright and sunny sky didn't match with Kylie's mood when she walked into the office.
She barked orders at Anna who came up to her."Good morn...." Anna's words were cut short by an upset Kylie.
"I want every team in the hall in five minutes and each should better have a design for the Broadway. Not more than five minutes Becca,not more." she said as she walked into the elevator."Yes ma'am." Becca said trying to match her strides. The boss was indeed upset today.
She had never seen Kylie this way before. She wondered what was wrong."Anything else ma'am?" Becca asked as they stepped into the office.
"Get me a cup of cappuccino."Kylie said taking off her jacket."Okay."Becca said and walked out of the office.She returned with it and handed the cup to her.
"Are they out in the hall?" Kylie questioned. Her tone still harsh as earlier before."Yes ma'am."she said.Kylie took a sip from the coffee but it still didn't calm her nerves. She was still pissed about what transpired during the dinner at her mother's place.
How could she do this to me?Kylie asked herself.Every team had a design in front of them and Kylie walked in their midst.
"Damned." she said tearing the sheets one of the team held."Rubbish!"she flared as she tore another design."Waste of resources!" she yelled again.They shuddered in fear at her menacing tone as she tore all the designs sketched.Whenever they made errors,Kylie corrected and reprimanded them mildly but today was different. This new side of her scared them.
"If care is not taken,most of y'all will get fired and that is not a threat but a warning." Kylie said standing tall in front of them as she spoke.
"In two days time,I want to see dresses on these mannequins. Out of this world dresses. Beautiful and fabulously made. Am I clear?" She said in a condescending way."Yes ma'am." They said.
"Dismiss." She ordered and they walked away discussing her mood as they go.Kylie went back to her office scribbling away on a paper. Whenever she was in a foul mood,she derived joy sketching designs to bring her inner peace.
Just then her phone rang. Talk of the devil.
The drama queen was calling.
She ignored the call but her mother won't relent. She kept calling till Kylie had no choice but to switch off her phone..

"Sir,the scheduled meeting is holding now. Everyone is waiting for you in the conference room." Lance,Leo's personal assistant said to him.
"Cancel the meeting Lance,reschedule it for another day."Leo said toiling with the ball pen in his hand."But sir,the board has been..." Lance kept mute when he saw the deadly look on Leo's face.
"What did i say?" Leo asked.
"Reschedule the meeting."he said submissively."Good."Leo said and Lance walked away.Leo swirled round his chair. His mother was on his neck about his marriage with Kylie. He didn't want it.
He didn't want any woman in his life not even her.He haven't been able to fall in love since business school. All he had in mind was LM Tech and nothing more.
He pressed the intercom. "Send in Mr Robins." he said..

The intercom buzzed and Kylie answered. "Yes Becca, what do you want?" she questioned.
"Ma'am,your mother is..."Kylie wouldn't let Becca finish when she dropped the call. Hearing about her mother would only drive her crazy.She focused on the designs displayed on her screen. Starting from the first epic dress that made her famous in the fashion world. She sighed.
Have she lost her talent for designing the best or was the best right in front of her but she was trying to find the extraordinary which made her oblivious to it?Different thoughts ran through her mind. Roselle had got her boat shaken just a little bit and her mother has tipped her over.
Just to think of the devil.The drama queen barged into her office with a terrified Becca on her heels telling her it was inappropriate of her to barge in without an order.
"It has gotten to the extent you now ignore me now uh?" Carina said.
"Leave us." Kylie said dismissing Becca.She turned to her mother. "Isn't it clear that I don't want to see you or talk to you?"
"Listen here young lady,I won't tolerate your insubordination. I am your mother."With that Kylie rolled her eyes. "What century do you live in mom?" she questioned.
"Twenty first century." Carina said raising a browKylie raised her hands in exasperation. "Exactly mom. Twenty first century! Where mothers don't pick husbands for their children!" she ranted.
"I'm not the twenty first century. I'm your mother and I've matched you with a very reputable man from a good family." Carina said.
"Why do you sound so traditional? Feels like you bumped your head and think you're in India. Wake up mom,this is London,London!" Kylie said getting frustrated by the second.
Carina frowned at her daughter. "I want you home today,we shall discuss this and also pick a wedding date.""Are you even listening to me?" Kylie said,her brows furrowed.
"Be home." Carina said firmly and walked away.How was she going to explain all these to Rex? Just how?Becca walked into the office. "Ma'am I've got..."
