Falling into an enjoyable routine proved surprisingly easy, and Bailey couldn't recall ever feeling this content. Then again, she'd never had four men striving to please her at every turn.

Already more than a week here and she couldn't imagine life without any of them. But that still didn't mean she'd jumped into bonding with Parker and Jaxon just yet. With Gavin and Wyatt, it had just kind of naturally happened. However, while Parker and Jaxon stole quite a few kisses-to her panty-wetting enjoyment-interruptions and distraction kept things from going any further, and she was too shy to claim them directly.

At least they didn't seem to mind the wait, even if they did tease her all the time. Perhaps, if the lusts they roused weren't being satisfied nightly by Wyatt or Gavin-sometimes with both men at once-she might have given them what they so blatantly desired. Truth was, though, she liked things the way they were, and she didn't want to rock the boat or create cause for je

Parker couldn't believe it when Bailey stayed and finally embraced her beast. Even more amazing, she remained to fight alongside him. Not that he needed her aid, but he'd never tell her that, not given the courage she displayed with her actions. Pride made him howl as he took out the rogues who'd interrupted their mating tryst. Stupid, ill-timed bastards. Another fifteen minutes, tops, and he would have claimed Bailey as his own. More annoying, once he took care of these upstarts, he'd have to go back to warn Gavin, Nathan, and the others, his chance to resume where they'd left off irrevocably lost. It made him vicious, and in short order, he and Bailey were the only wolves standing. Parker called up his human half, but when he looked at Bailey-her coat a curly black like her hair-she whined. "Poor baby. Is your wolf not ready to go back in its cage? I warned you this would happen." A chuckle he couldn't help made her glare at him and bare some teeth. It m

Nervousness made her pace and gnaw at her nails while Parker, a content look on his face and his eyes hooded, watched her from his position on the couch. "They're going to be fine," he reiterated. Still, she worried. While she and her newest mate had returned more than two hours ago, made love twice, and even eaten, they'd yet to hear word on the others. Fear over their safety comprised part of her anxiety, but the other part of her angst she blamed on fear. She'd claimed Parker, her gentle giant, but how would Wyatt and Gavin react? And Jaxon, would he get angry at being the only one left? The raucous noise of their return preceded their entrance into the house, Jaxon leading the cacophony with his usual humor. Gavin strode over to her and kissed her first, followed by Wyatt. Then Jaxon tried to sneak a smooch but ended up tripped by Gavin and missing. Covering her mouth lest she laugh at his chagrin, she then watched wide-eyed as her first two mates went over and sh

"I can't wait until we take care of Roderick. I can't stand seeing her so miserable," Wyatt grumbled, feeling like a useless idiot bumbling in the darkness looking for rogues who had, once again, vanished without a trace. "Tell me about it. The whole mating bond means I feel how sad and uneasy she is all the time. It's not fair. I can't believe she'd do something to betray us," Parker added. "Not her, Roderick. I hate it as much as you guys, but I get the feeling it won't be long now. Nathan is convinced the bastard is hiding close by, and given the way he keeps jabbing at our defenses, I agree." "But where?" Wyatt griped. His frustration got the better of him, and he punched the trunk of a tree, splintering the bark. "He's got balls, that's for fucking sure." "And wolves to waste," Parker added. They lapsed into silence after that, letting themselves sink into their own thoughts as they waded through brush and bramble looking for a sign rogues had p

Opening her eyes, Bailey blinked in the dim light, staring at the cracked cement ceiling. Why did it seem so familiar? A clawed hand drags sharply across my skin. Blood beads, dripping down. He laughs, drawing near with his damned needles and his hungry mouth. Shaking her head, she tried to dislodge the memories, but faster than a speeding bullet, they filled her mind, the echoes of her past screams ringing in her head, ricocheting off the horrifying recollections that wouldn't stop coming. The cries, the screams, the blood, so much blood, and him. Roderick. Clutching at her aching skull, she rocked back and forth, but she couldn't stop the tears, the horror. He tortured me. Too much to take all at once, she sank into oblivion. Wakening a second time, Bailey moaned as she recognized the nightmarish dŽcor around her. I'm back. She recalled most of those forgotten days, horrific days that seemed a lifetime ago, recalled Roderick as he laughed at her misery a

  • Pack   Chapter 66

Parker chafed at the delay in following the signal left by Bailey as Jaxon, the traitor, took her farther and farther from the pack. Not usually a rash man, he was ready to jump in his truck and go, but even among bloodthirsty werewolves, some preparation needed to happen. First off, the women and children left behind required protection, so some males were selected to stay and the females armed with guns. Sexist, but then again, a smaller female wolf didn't stand much of a chance against a larger aggressive male. Bullets, however, evened the odds. Once they'd squared that situation away, they ran into another. Nathan feared them leaving in a large group would alert Roderick's spies, so they slipped from the compound in vehicles that seemed empty except for drivers but were, in fact, packed with Lycans. The overflow of males ended up disgorging in towns on the way, picking up rental vehicles, dispersing their trail even more and making them less of a target if cops pulled t

Waking up surrounded by male bodies proved interesting, especially when she needed to ease out to pee and brush her teeth. One of the guys had thought ahead and hit the motel's store because she found not only toothpaste and a brush but also some deodorant and lotion for her skin. The one thing she didn't bother with was clothes. During her uneasy slumber, where she'd found herself sometimes crying, she'd taken time to reflect as the male bodies around her shifted positions but made sure to stay in close contact at all time. She reflected on the fact that she had three men who cared so much for her that they faced down the ultimate in evil to save her. She mused on the growing wonder in her belly. And she rejoiced in the fact that she lived. The loss of Jaxon would always be a wound in her psyche. Even without a bodily claim, she loved her fourth mate. Despite his demise, he would stay a part of her forever. But life went on. She'd had her moment to grieve and wail at

Hugging her superbly large stomach, Bailey waddled to the front porch her mates had built her and surveyed them as they worked on their newest present to her-a gazebo. She still hadn't quite figured out what one did with that structure, but she didn't tell them that, not when they seemed so darned determined to give her one. Next on their agenda, they'd informed her, was a play structure for the baby. Never mind the child wouldn't be big enough to play on it for at least a year or more. Apparently their child would need one. And the list went on. Truly, though, she couldn't complain. How many women had three men determined to make her life as wonderful as possible? Sometimes she couldn't believe her luck, but as Dana, her best female friend, said, "Three is so much better than one. Especially all at once." Absently, she ran her tongue over the inside of her bottom lip, the small, ridged scar from the small bite Jaxon had given her-their mating exchange-tingling again.

He's going to kill her. It killed Jaxon to see Bailey helpless in the monster's grasp. My fault. All my fault. I should have fought harder. Been stronger. Not caved in to the wickedness controlling my mind. A wickedness that haunted him still. The nightmare of the past few days shamed him. He'd betrayed his pack, his brothers, but worse than all that, he had handed the woman he loved over to a killer and condemned her to torture. Harder to swallow, she'd forgiven him even though he deserved to die. And if I don't do something, she'll perish right in front of me as I watch. Bunching his muscles, he strained to free himself, to move his frozen limbs, to no avail. He lacked the strength to fight the invisible chains that bound him, forcing him to stand as if a statue, a spectator to the unfolding events. The disdain in his packmates' eyes shone clearly even from where they ranged across from him. Jaxon had earned their looks of disgust and rage. He'd have borne t

  • Pack   Chapter 144: Epilogue

Days laterÉ Thaddeus surveyed his demesne, a house he'd never really shared, until now. And now? Now the place was overrun with vampires and wolves. Had he lost his mind along his tumultuous journey? No, but he'd definitely lost his heart. Toni slid an arm around his waist and leaned her head against his shoulder. Through their bond, her love for him warmed and filled his heart-and his cock. On her other side, Marc appeared, his stealthy abilities increasing daily with practice, enough that even Thaddeus found it difficult to spot him unless he cheated and used the thread that tied them together. "A penny for your thoughts," Toni murmured. He gave her the disgruntled truth. "How did I go from loner to this?" He gesticulated at the rescued wolves, a quad of them, sparring with Sasha in the courtyard. Toni laughed, the sound so sweet he'd kill anyone who dared threaten it. "You fell in love," she stated. He sighed. "That I did." "Do y

  • Pack   Chapter 143

If someone would have told Toni watching two guys bite each other with her sandwiched between them would be one of the most intense moments of her life, she would have scoffed. But even though neither of them had bitten her, she caught some of the backlash from their joining. She couldn't help but bask in the warmth of knowing they did it not just for themselves but for her. To be with her. Because they loved her. And to think I wondered why any woman would agree to more than one lover. Toni was more than ready to let them claim her. She wanted to join them and belong to them and have them belong to her. Not because of any laws or protection, but because she wanted them. She loved them. I want them to be mine. Marc might have thought to tease her or shock her with his words of making her wetter, as if that could happen. Her pussy had never hummed so strongly or felt so slick. She crooked a finger, beckoning to them both. On to the bed they came, on their knees b

Thad drove the last leg to the compound in their borrowed car. A two-seat sports car, which meant Toni got to sit on Marc's lap. His naked lap. His naked lap with an erect cock poking at her backside. Something about prevailing against death and danger was arousing. Stimulating. Having a wet woman, whose scent drove him wild, who kept wiggling deliciously and casting him sultry glances, just added fuel to the fire stoking him. Thad must have felt some of the simmering energy because his fingers danced along her thigh, skirting the vee between her thighs and causing Toni's breath to catch. They couldn't get to the compound fast enough. Oddly enough, Toni, her voice breathy and soft, spoke in the erotically charged silence. "That was pretty intense back there." "If you mean fucking scary, then, yeah," Marc noted. He wasn't too macho to admit he'd feared. Especially for her. And there was a moment where I wondered if I'd end up a vampire puppet again. Thankfu

  • Pack   Chapter 141

Okay, perhaps offering the warm heart to his comrades was perhaps not the sanest thing he'd ever done, but in Thaddeus's defense, it was considered quite the compliment in the vampire world, as it meant he was willing to share his power. With grimaces of distaste, Toni and Marc declined. Their loss. With a shrug, Thaddeus finished his treat, feeling his strength return and his wounds healing. Nothing like partaking of a master vampire's warm heart to give a boost to a weakened body. The skies chose that moment to release their moist bounty, a cool, fresh rain pelting them and cleansing the blood from their skin. But even clean, Thaddeus stood apart, watching as Marc held a shuddering Toni, a woman who'd unleashed her savage side and watched him eat another man's heart. What does she think of me now? Thaddeus wouldn't make excuses for what he was. He was a vampire. Eating the flesh of his enemies was a part of his life. A need. Although, in this case, he could have don

  • Pack   Chapter 140

Despite the knock to her head, Toni understood they were in deep shit. Just one problem, she was too muddled to do anything about it. Through the ringing in her ears, she vaguely heard the word ambush and Thad's admonition to stay in the truck. Thing was staying in the truck wasn't a guarantee of protection. Evil lurked outside, and she could feel the nudge of it at the edge of her mind. Knock, knock. Who wants in? It wasn't Thaddeus. She knew his touch; it was gentle and not creepy. This mind probe reminded her more of Roderick's methods. Like a battering ram coated in slime. Someone on the impromptu battleground was trying to take over her mind. But who? Taking in deep breaths, she managed to calm the spinning in her head, enough so she could open her eyes without wanting to throw up. She wanted to shut them just as quickly. Chaos met her gaze. Despite the darkness, the one remaining headlight on the truck lit the surrounding area enough for her to see a nasty

  • Pack   Chapter 139

Marc had only seconds to call upon his wolf, which meant bye-bye to yet another set of clothes. However, if he managed to get out of this ambush naked but alive, he'd count himself lucky. His initial estimate of half a dozen to the left proved accurate, but not so for the right. Marc only had a moment to realize Thad was going to get swarmed before his first ghoul attacked. Knowing what to expect this time, he didn't waste time grappling; he went for weak spots. Throat if he could reach it to tear it out. A close second was the legs. If they couldn't walk, it made them less of a threat. His strategy proved effective. While ghouls twitched on the ground and reached for him, he managed to keep to his four furry feet and cause some damage, enough that he felt the need to leave his group of ghouls and head to help Thaddeus, who was practically buried in them. He had to hand it to the old bloodsucker though. Thaddeus wasn't going down without a hell of a fight. Partway the

An hour or so later, they were on the road, the vehicle they borrowed not exactly luxurious, but the pickup truck in the garage, with the plow hooked to the front was less noticeable than Thaddeus's car with the torn hood and roof. Marc drove this leg of the trip, with Toni seated in the middle and Thaddeus on the other side. Cozy, but surprisingly pleasant. Thaddeus was still trying to come to terms with the speed at which his immortal life had changed. He'd gone from a boring and dull existence, where his primary amusement was stalking miscreants and taunting Morpheus, to embarking on a quest to save his kind, stop a war, oh, and get romantically involved with a woman and another man. Or at least the woman. The fact that she came with a hairy attachment he had yet to kill was something he still couldn't quite comprehend. I have never been one to keep pets. In times past, Thaddeus would have easily solved the dilemma by snapping a neck and claiming her for his own. He had

  • Pack   Chapter 137

Wakening to one side of Toni, while Thad slumbered on the other, didn't freak Marc out as much as he feared. What began as a dislike and rivalry with the vampire had transitioned. He wouldn't exactly claim to like the guy, but he did have more respect for him and could now see him as a person instead of just a vampire. It also helped that Toni made it clear she wanted both of them, or neither of them. She wouldn't tolerate jealous bickering. Or, as she told them when they entered into a staring, growling match, "Behave, or I'll take my pussy and play with it myself." Nothing like the threat of no sex to calm them the fuck down. Then again, Marc wasn't serious about staking the bloodsucker and sticking him out in the sun for a tan, but a guy had to have some fun. Easing out of the bed, careful to let her eke out as many minutes of sleep as possible, Marc took first turn in the shower then headed off to scrounge up some breakfast. Within a half-hour, Toni arrived in the kitchen, he

This time Toni recognized the setting for what it was: a dream. I just wish I could choose a nicer location, say like a five-star resort. But no, her subconscious apparently harbored a sadistic side, and once again, she found herself in her dreary cell, wearing a gauzy nightgown trimmed with red hearts and ribbons. Ready for a loverÉor two. Unlike her last visit, this time the door to her prison was open. A shame, she'd quite enjoyed Thaddeus's appearance, and Marc's. They'd opened her eyes in this dreamscape to the possibilities, and now that they'd shown them to her, she had to wonder why she'd held back. But back to her dream. Why was she here? Was there something to be learned? Done? Only one way to find out. She strode from her former cell, the silence around her oppressive but not threatening. It seemed the fear she'd lived with for so long was losing its grip. Apparently eating some dead guy's ashes, kicking some ghoul butt, and then having the courage to take
