Chapter 4

“Dude, we need to stop taking shots and go home, we have a presentation tomorrow” Jerry tapped my shoulder, but I just wasn’t having it. I’ve been through a lot and I know what I need to night, it’s good beer and a freaking hot girl

I turned to him, already half drunk and burping the place up. I hiccupped “Dude, if you want to, you can go home, I want to have fun tonight. After I met that witch, my life has just turned upside down. If you’re my friend, you’d support me and drink some more, the night is young and we need to party!!”

Jerry looked at his drunk friend in disappointment, taking him to the club was the wrong thing to do but yeah, he was only trying to be supportive. It’s not like he’s a kill joy, he has a record of holding his beer after 10 shots, he doesn’t get drunk that easily and he would like to party with Theo till sunrise, but tomorrow is a big presentation, it’s really important that he shows his selection for Gabi's elite team isn’t a mistake. Theodore just doesn’t want to talk about work because it hasn’t exactly been the same after Gabi showed up, for instance, she brought a hot new secretary and Jerry had a thing for her, he’d just hoping Theodore doesn’t get to her before him or else his chances would be completely ruined and she’d hate him because he’s the friend of the guy who played her…

Jerry sighed as he placed a 20nen in the boobs of a girl that came to dance in front of him. Then she hissed in disgust and walked away

“What’s wrong with you? She was just trying to hook up, she’s not some stripper” I hurled at my friend and Jerry sighed 

“Oh, it’s because of that new secretary right? She’s gotten to you too. That Gabi! I’ll destroy her if I get the chance, her making me uncomfortable at work today was the height of things, I might have acted cool but I was really pissed!” I shouted amidst the loud music playing 

“Shut up and drink some more” Jerry rolled his eyes and I chuckled, I’ve noticed them, they have some chemistry between them, that’s why I haven’t made a move on her since she came, well maybe I will

“I think I like her, I might come out of hiding and hit on just her, she’d be fun to play with, she’s more Fuller than Gabi” I said out loud and I could swear at that moment that I wasn’t under the influence of beer, it wasn’t the beer, Jerry really had smoke coming out of his ears

“You dare not!” he said 

“You didn’t call dibs on her first Broh, she’s a free bird so why are you getting all worked up?” I shrugged 

He seemed to be in deep thought but I couldn’t take him seriously because he kept getting red like a tomato, I might even judge that he was blushing… “Well… just don’t make a move on her because she’s Gabi secretary, she’d get you fired if you played with her” I mentally laughed, he’s trying to call dibs by making me not go for her with warnings 

“You’re right, she’s a no go area. I’ll just get a girl here” I sighed as I gulped down a full glass of vodka. That should start up tonight!

“Man, I’ll see you at home, you’d better prepare for the presentation tomorrow or Gabi is going to come back at you even harder than today” Jerry said as he stood up 

“Coward” I hissed, he’s leaving me all alone here.  Even Ray chickened out tonight, now he’s leaving? Well its all fun for me then. 

“Dude just make sure you make it to work tomorrow” He dusted his pants 

“You’re going to wake me up with your hangover soup right?” I smiled because he’s the only reason I am so confident of Drinking during week days. That stuff helped us a lot back in our University days…Thanks Grandma for leaving Jerry with that soup recipe

“Hell no! That thing takes hours to whoop up and besides, you’ll be sleeping in whoever’s dumb enough to hook up with you's house. Don’t bring any girl home or I’m going to tell Dickson” He raised his brows 

“Okay, okay chill. Don’t tell Dickson” I sighed then I shooed him away. I’m staying because I want to get this damn memory off my head

Flash back to some hours ago…

“I need to know you guys are the real deal so we’re having a presentation tomorrow, I want you all to make charts, models and give me that convincing strategy that would make our clients pick you instead of your  contenders. Be prepared tomorrow and bring your A game, I would like to see who’s the best amongst you all. That will be all for today” Gabi dismissed her elite team but Theo just wasn’t having that tomorrow presentation something.

“Hey Gabi, don’t you think the tomorrow something is too urgent. Maybe make it next week” I said, I was only trying to stick out for all of us, I did nothing wrong but she just didn’t see it that way, instead she decided to attack me in the worst way

“Are you that impotent that you can’t handle a simple presentation? Mind you Mr. Theodore I’ve been doing this since I was 15 years old. I’d stand before my father and pitch various ideas so I could be grilled on how things work, I’m only trying to get the best out of you all but if you just can’t do it then don’t, it’s not like I expected much from you” She shrugged and Someone snickered 

I swear I felt like strangling that person “Tomorrow is fine by me” I said and walked out.

“She’s just a bish. Nothing more nothing less” I sighed as I finished another glass of vodka, this club isn’t as lit as the ones I go to in Limpopo, Bene clubs are cool but not like Limpopo, Gosh I wish I could go there right now. I wonder if I can score a chick tonight…

“Hey there handsome… Wanna dance?” I turned to see a pretty blonde in practically nothing but a bandana tied around her chest and a really short skirt. I wonder how many seconds it’d take for me to rip that thing off her.

Theo smirked “Challenge accepted” he said in his head before taking the blonde’s hands and taking her to the dance floor. 

“Take charge of the game” I smiled 

Next day…

Theo stumbled into the office with a dang hangover, he couldn’t even remember what happened with that blonde after he took her to the dance floor but he’s sure they both didn’t make it out of the club doors, she was just too desperate and he wanted to take his mind off things so they just went straight upstairs to the clubs private room. 

He left in time before she woke up, the guards are going to push her out because she doesn’t have the clubs black card, he does and he had to go through a lot to get that card. He’d apologize in advance for how they were going to handle her but he was too drunk at that moment to tell her what she would face the next morning.

“Theo, the presentation has started! Hurry up stairs” The cute receptionist said and he came back to reality

“Thanks Blaire” he said and he rushed up to his office. He hadn’t even drafted anything

“God! I’m screwed!!” he sighed as he hastily walked into his office. That was when he saw a chart laying on his table and some plans.

There’s only one person who would do this for him

“Jerry, I will so not call you a coward ever again” I laughed as I picked up everything and went straight to the board meeting room.

“Nice to see you Mr. Theodore” Gabi said sarcastically as I walked in

“You’re up next” She hissed and I rolled my eyes and walked to the middle of the room.

After, what seemed like hours of presenting and pitching my idea to my devilish boss, I was done and then it was time for her review…

I really felt good because I earned some claps after my presentation so I bet she’s going to complement me, I stood in all glory as we awaited her judgement

“Your plan and charts are good, One of the best presented here today, but… You’re saying the direct opposite of them! Did you even look at your points on the charts? I’m not even sure you did those charts yourself, I am certainly not impressed Mr. Theodore, your hair is all messy and you give off the stench of vodka, I’m beginning to doubt your worth to our company. You were able to sweet talk these people here but not me. Amongst everyone’s presentation here, I’d rank yours very low. Of course, I didn’t expect much but I certainly didn’t expect less” She hissed and I grabbed my paper really tight. Sure I wasn’t good at presentations but I was excellent on the field!

So this is what I get for even trying? Bullshit!
