“Okay then, let’s hit the road” we got into the car and zoomed off.
The trick about the slip is that I realized the Bene flyover close to the check point has 3 different interlocks, but when you throttle your engine in the third section it’s sound echo's higher in the third interlock and that deceives the cops and they go chasing a ghost car, it helped me back then when I knew I was at wrong end of law, that was a long time ago guys.
So we got to the ferry station, boarded a ferry back to Bene and we got back to my car. I kick-started the engine and we drove close to the Bene checkpoint, I slowed down because I wanted the police to see him, I wanted to laugh at D, just seeing him quiver in fear, that should be a fair punishment since he called me just to be his driver. But then I realized that I would get punished as well for taking this damn criminal in my car!
Oh shit! And I thought I would go Scot free, well I also want to brush up my skills on the wheels so on getting to the check point, I zoomed off and it ended in a hot pursuit from the cops.It was like, I was playing need for speed most wanted again. D was beside me chanting with excitement and I couldn’t help but chuckle. “What a nice brother bonding time” I said to myself.On getting to the flyover as I was about to gear up, the car just stopped.You heard me, it just… stopped.My eyes dilated and I could feel the fear that was buried deep down in my tummy surface to my heart, it was like time stopped for me. I couldn’t feel my surroundings, just that stupid feeling called fear, then I realized the cause of this fear… “ I don’t want to go to jail” little Theo said in my head“Theo! Snap out of this and Do something, I don’t wanna go to jail!!” D's shaking and loud voice pulled me back to reality.
“Okay okay!!” I roared and took the key out, put it back in and twisted. Please car, if you start I swear I will take you for weekly servicing next time, that is if I survive this though. Thankfully, the car came back to life.
“Hurry!” D shouted and we were moving again,
My heart was pounding but I had to keep my composure, I couldn’t run under the third interlock because the cops where too close, I drove through the first and made a U-turn again back to the fly over, This is it, the moment when I go through the third section, I never imagined my Sunday would end up like this. I could feel my heart pounding through my rib cages, threatening to come out at any moment. The light breeze that grazed my forehead, The sweat which I didn’t notice made it’s way down to my cheeks, I felt eerily inspired and I knew that this was the right time.My knuckles whitened on the wheels and the tires screeched as I felt the adrenaline coarse through my veins, I increased acceleration and drove to the third section, I throttled the car engine and the sound I was looking for came forth, but would the cops fall for it this time? I wonder, it’s up to the heavens now to decide our fate.I slowed down and took a last glance at D, I knew he was feeling the same way I was in my chest. We listened for the cops sirens but they didn’t come after us, so it means...“They bought the fake Theo” I heard D's voice say but I still wasn’t sure
“Are you sure? Cause I’m not sure I just want to listen again and check if_” I was startled when D grabbed my hair and ruffled it
“You did it!! We made it out alive!!” He shouted in my ears and my body cringed. I stifled a dry chuckle as I kick started the engines and drove out of that place.
D was chanting our celebration song “ I am brave and I am bold rise up ding ding like glitter and gold!” but he came to a halt before turning to me
“Why aren’t you celebrating?” D asked as I wasn’t as excited as he was“It still seems too good to be true. Let’s just go home” I shrugged. We drove all the way home and as we got out of the car I shouted
“We made it! D let’s celebrate!”
“Oh so now you want to celebrate” D rolled his eyes and walked into our apartment
“Hey wait up! I’m sorry!!” I shouted before walking in..
