Luca hands me a folder, and I open it, my eyes scan the damning evidence it contains. Photographs, financial records, and correspondence of who my father met, and what he expected in return.

But what shocks me is who I see in the photograph.

Ella's Fucking grandparents.

Didn't they say she worked as a fucking maid? My father would never even look in the direction of someone below him. He had no regard for the poor so this doesn't make any fucking sense.

The room feels suffocating, and I need a moment to gather my thoughts. Without a word, I reach for a cigarette and light it, inhaling deeply. The smoke curls in the dim light,

Luca looks at me for a moment before responding " This is some fucked up shit A. What the hell is going on? Yes, I did but you'll have to outsource the information because the answers are not here and your mother won't speak."
