Chapter 0005

"Stop it!"

Larry quickly ran to Logan. Before he could speak, Chloe waved the Supreme Card in her hand and said to Larry with sparkling eyes, "Mr. Fisher, look, this fellow stole the card from your VIP lounge!"

A smug smile spread across Chloe's face.

She thought she had saved the bank's reputation and recovered their losses. This time, Larry would definitely praise her!

Larry had quite the say in Goldguard Bank's East Cross district. Thus, if he put in a few good words for her in the headquarters meeting, she might even get a promotion.

Chloe was feeling pretty good about herself, but she suddenly noticed that Larry's face was getting darker and darker. She couldn't understand for the life of her why he was looking at her so angrily. In the midst of her confusion, Larry let out a roar that shocked her to her bones.

"Let go of Mr. Pearce!" At the same time, Larry snatched the Supreme Card away from her.

Shocked, Chloe instinctively let go of Logan.

Larry pushed her away, bent down at a 30-degree angle, and held up the Supreme Card with both hands. "Mr. Pearce, I'm very sorry about what happened. Here's your card. I apologize for not educating my subordinate well!"

Larry's face showed respect, embarrassment, and unease.

Chloe and the surrounding guests were stunned!

Was this Supreme Card really his?

Chloe's eyes widened like a lifelike statue. She couldn't figure out what was happening!

The Supreme Card meant that he had at least $30,000,000 in assets!

He looked like a poor guy who was only 20 years old and dressed in modest clothes. How could he have so much money?

No matter how one looked at it, it seemed unreal.

Logan put the card in his pocket and said lightly, "It's not your fault, Mr. Fisher."

"Thank you, Mr. Pearce." Larry lowered his head and paused for two seconds. Then, he straightened his back and roared at Chloe, "What are you waiting for? Apologize to Mr. Pearce!"

Chloe was not a fool. She finally understood the situation. The man in front of her was extremely rich!

Chloe came back to her senses and immediately bowed 90 degrees to Logan. "Mr. Pearce, I'm very sorry for my rude behavior. I was foolish and unreasonable. I apologize for touching you. I'll reflect on myself deeply…"

Logan walked straight past her without acknowledging her.

"Mr. Pearce, please feel free to call me if you need anything in the future. I will do my best to help,"

Larry cherished this meeting with Logan very much. It would probably be very difficult to see such a high net-worth person like Logan again in the future, so he did not hold back on the flattery.

"Okay, Larry," Logan responded with a faint smile, committing to memory that Larry had helped him earlier.

Larry was over the moon at being addressed on a first-name basis. A person with more than a billion dollars actually remembered his name! Besides, this young mogul was dressed modestly and had a low-key attitude. He did not put on any airs at all.

After that, Logan strode to the side of the road and hailed a taxi back to Ridgeview University.

When he entered the university building, he accidentally stepped on a puddle of water in front of the door, splashing mud on his pants.

Just then, the bell rang. As such, he quickly rushed to the classroom without wasting any time.

Cecilia Henderson, who had a graceful figure, was lecturing on the podium. She glanced at Logan from the corner of her eye, and a trace of disappointment flashed across her eyes.

Logan lowered his head slightly, feeling very guilty.

Among all the teachers, Ms. Henderson treated him the best. Because he was poor, the other teachers ignored him. Some even mocked him. Only Ms. Henderson treated him equally to the other students.

Logan did not say anything as he walked into the classroom, with all his classmates' gazes focused on him.

"The poor guy isn't usually late, but he's late today. Did the sun rise from the west today?"

"Look at his pants. Oh my, they're so dirty. Doesn't he know how to get a change of clothes?"

"How would he have the money to get a new change of clothes? Are you kidding me? I think he only has two sets of clothes."

University students were more casual in class. A few boys started commenting, and the girls in the front row also covered their mouths and whispered among themselves. They all looked at Logan with disdain.

"Stop talking!" Ms. Henderson said loudly, "Let's continue with the class."

During the lecture, Logan realized that Ms. Henderson kept glancing at him, intentionally or unintentionally. Her eyes were filled with disappointment.
