Shane's expression instantly turned cold. "Why didn't you say so earlier?"

The butler, feeling wronged, replied, "You didn't ask."

Shane shot him a glare, making the butler shut his mouth and quickly put on a respectful smile.

Shane withdrew his gaze and instructed, "Go prepare some fruit and tea. Haley and I will be down shortly."

The butler nodded and left to carry out the orders.

Shane returned to the bedroom where Haley was still lying in bed, reluctant to get up. She was wearing a thin nightgown, her arms extending from under the white blanket, glistening slightly.

Haley stretched lazily, looking relaxed. "Who came?"

Seeing her kick off the blanket, exposing her slender waist, Shane paused for a moment. "Mom's here. Get up, we shouldn't keep her waiting."

Haley froze for a second, then sat up quickly, her hair a mess and her eyes wide. "My mom?"

Before she could say anything else, Shane tapped her forehead twice. "She's my mom too."

Haley rubbed her forehead, then laughe
