Shane opened the passenger door and let Haley get in. He then drove her home.

After dinner, Haley took her drawing board and headed straight to the room at the end of the hallway.

Although everything in the room was over a decade old, it was well-preserved, with no signs of damage. A carpet had been specially laid, and the room was regularly cleaned.

So, when Haley closed the door and sat on the floor, it did not feel cold. This room held many childhood memories of her and Shane.
