Chapter 166

Third person's POV

The dinner was exquisite—each course thoughtfully prepared with her preferences in mind, but she found it hard to focus on the food. Mihir had even managed to get a dessert she loved from a bakery she adored. Throughout the meal, the tension between them was palpable. Mihir was trying so hard, and she could see the love and regret in his eyes.

As they ate, he talked about his plans for the future, his hopes for their baby, and his desire to make things right between them.

"I know I hurt you, Tami," he said, his voice filled with emotion. "And I can never undo that. But I am here now, and I want to be there for you and our baby."

Tears welled up in Tami’s eyes. As much as she had loved him, his indifference earlier had caused her immense pain. "It’s not that simple, Mihir," she said, her voice trembling. "You can’t just erase the past with gifts and gestures. It hurts too much."
