"This is Nick and his girlfriend Beth," I introduce them to Alexis.
"Hello it's nice to meet you." She says with a smile as we both sit down.
"Wow so you're real." Nick asks smiling.
Alexis looks between Nick and I confused.
"Ofcourse she's real, they don't believe I have a female friend." I say explaining. "In fact a female best friend." I add.
"Why don't they believe?" Alexis asks smiling.
"Your bestie right here Mason is such a manwhore." Nick says to Alexis.
"Really?" She asks laughing.
"Yeah he is." Beth says agreeing with Nick.
"Let's order drinks," I say changing the subject.
"Wow Mason, she's gorgeous." Nick whispers quietly to me while Alexis and Beth converse about something.
I look over to Alexis, watching her and I feel blood rush down to my groin. "So Alexis, Mason tells us you're working in a stem cell research." Nick asks.
"Yeah I am, I worked on a project like that in college and also on my doctorate and the institute I'm now working in wants to look further into my research." Alexis explains.
"Right it's also Dr Alexis, that's amazing. You're like so young but also so accomplished." Nick says looking at Alexis in complete awe. And he right, Alexis is exceptionally smart and accomplished and also terrifyingly gorgeous. Every time I look at her, I'm in awe that she exists, she is literally perfect.
"Oh my God, right! You also have a PHD," Beth says looking at Alexis in awe too which Alexis just smiles and nods at them.

"I'm Luke, nice to meet you too. Mason you didn't tell us she's gorgeous," Luke says to me but his eyes still on Alexis while she blushes under his gaze. And suddenly my heart tightens at the thought of him and Alexis together.
"So Mason this weekend no Claire?" Beth asks changing the subject.
"Who's Claire?" Alexis asks looking at me.
"Claire is one of his casual hookups," Nick answers.
"Why are we talking about me, you're supposed to be getting to know Alexis and drinking." I say changing the subject and soon enough we get back to drinking.
Alexis seems to be getting along with everyone, especially Beth they already made plans to go shopping together.
We had left the bar and my driver drove us back home to our apartment, we're now sitting on the floor in Alexis apartment eating a bag of chips.
"So did you like everyone?" I ask.
"Yeah, they were all very nice. Especially Luke, he's so nice." She says with a smile and I frown because Luke was clearly flirting with her all night, does she maybe like him? I mentally question myself.
"I'm glad we're friends again." She adds with a smile.
"What do you mean again? We have always been friends." I say.
"Yeah but since college we have kind of drifted apart." She says sighing. "I mean the whole thing with me starting college at 15 and you already in college then." She adds.
"The last time we were actually close was when I was 14, when we used to play video games while our parents had their wine tasting party." Alexis adds after a pause.
And she's right, good times."Well we're always going to be friends." I say, then wrap a hand around her head and tug her close for a quick kiss on her forehead.
