He underestimated me.

I arrived home around seven, and he wasn't there. I couldn't hide my excitement—the grin on my face was akin to the Cheshire cat's.

After Mom casually brushed off the question, our conversation covered everything and nothing.

Evans shared a story about his time away, but I could tell he was feeding me a load of nonsense. However, until he does something out of the ordinary, he's free to do as he pleases.

While waiting for Dominic, I prepared myself dinner. When the clock struck nine, I hastily rushed to lock the door, but not before grabbing one of the paper rules and sticking it onto it.

There. That will show him how serious I am. I returned to the table and finished my dinner. After cleaning the kitchen, I went upstairs for a relaxing bath.

As I lounged on the couch, I heard a car pull up. Looking through the window, it wasn't his car. However, it didn't surprise me to see Chris exiting the car with him.

I watched as he walked up to the door and burst i

DominicI gaze out over the city as I mull over how to get revenge on Savannah.Should I apply shoe glue to her hair gel? Or perhaps tie a spaghetti bucket over her door to have it dumped on her?Is that too extreme? Locking me out of the house is extreme. For fuck's sake, I can't believe I'm sitting here thinking about revenge like a stupid teenager.I'm thirty, for fuck's sake. But hey, before her, my life was work, fooling around and repeating. Maybe this little war she started can be a reason to relive my teenage life.Which is why I want to go out with a bang. I don't want to execute my revenge half-heartedly—go big or go home.I pull out a notepad and write “REVENGE PLANS” at the top. I nod to myself and split the paper into two sections, labeling the top-right corner “PROS” and the top-left corner “CONS.”PROS:1. Bring a girl home.2. Stay out late.CONS:1. Retaliation2. LockoutHmmm.I scratched staying out late. Even though I could crash at Chris's place, I prefer my bed.I

DominicI'm engrossed in the files in my office when there's a soft knock on the door. My brow furrows because I'm not expecting anyone.“Enter!” I called out. Savannah walks in, and my eyebrows shoot up in surprise. “Um, you're not here to murder me in my sleep, right?”She rolls her eyes. “I'm here to apologize.” Did hell freeze over or something? I remain silent, skeptical that she might be up to something.I watch her without saying anything because Savannah Knights want to apologize.?Heck, this is something I never thought was possible. Ever. She snaps her finger to catch my attention. “Did you hear me?” she asks. “I said I was here to apologize.”I nodded slowly. “Okay? So apologize”She grits her teeth. “Not for locking you out.” I knew it. “But for my reaction earlier today, I admit that I let my temper get the best of me and allowed my inner frustrations to take over. But I shouldn't have taken my anger out on you.”“You didn't. I get where you were coming from.”She nods. “A

SebastianI pushed the door to the house and found Becca and Sophia standing there, lips pursed, hands crossed, and feet tapping impatiently as they waited for me.Suppressing a groan, I thought, I don't need this right now.Becca had practically been a pain in my ass ever since the engagement. She never lets me sleep without voicing her opinions about Dominic and Savannah's relationship.Savannah is my daughter and my pride. She thinks I hate her. It kills me to see her look at me with that sorrowful expression every time, or how she can't even talk to me for an hour straight.I caused this. I made her feel insecure, and now I will work on it. “You're home,” Becca said as she spotted me. “We've been waiting for you.”I looked at both of them. Becca and Sophia had a slight resemblance, but their behavior was identical. They were both spoiled, overbearing, and, worst of all, self-centered. The last thing I wanted to do right now was deal with these two. Still, I asked, “May I ask why?”

SavannahThe music is loud; I can feel the pulsing in my head as we enter.Janelle has her arm looped around mine as she drags me towards Bill. Apparently, she knew the bouncer, so all she had to do was yell, “Hey, pussycat,” which made him grin and wink at her before gesturing for us to enter. Why he's called “pussycat” is something I'm curious about, but hey, drinks are most important to me right now. After that talk in the car, Janelle had so many ways to turn this battle between Dominic and me into one that I would win.I heard her, but right now, I want to forget the scene I saw in the living room. “Bill's up there,” she yells over the music. “Hold on to me.”I nod again because the music pulsing in my brain is enough to give me a lifetime headache. We maneuver our way through the grinding bodies—sweaty ones, I might add—to the VIP section. Once again, she grins at the bouncer, and voilà, we are in the VIP area. It's quieter here; the red and blue lights add a sensual ambiance. Gi

Savannah**“Get your hands off my wife!”Ren retreats swiftly as if caught in a whirlwind of panic. “Wife?” The question is directed at me, but I'm too busy locking eyes with Mr. Aloof because how dare he? “You're married?” Disbelief is clear in Ren's voice.“Take a look at her finger, pretty boy.” Dominic grits out, “Take a perfect look at it.”“He's not a pretty boy, and I'm not your wife,” I manage through clenched teeth.“Tough shit. That ring on your finger says otherwise.”“It's fiancée.”“Same difference,” he retorts with a smug smirk, and something tells me he's throwing my words back at me.Beside me, Ren stands awkwardly, uncertain whether to stay or make a hasty exit. I'm touched that he still dares to stand here with Dominic confronting him like a possessive alpha male. “Uhm, should I stay?”“Yes.”“No.” We both answered at the same time. Ren hesitates, looking at me with wide eyes. I nod, and he winks before bolting away as if his life depended on it.The stare-down with D

    — Dominic“Why did you say that, dumbass?” Chris scolds as soon as Savannah gets out of the car. “That's my sister-in-law.”“Fake sister-in-law,” I point out with an eye roll.Savannah Knights is an absolute pain. If I didn't know better, I would've thought she did it intentionally, knowing she might be recorded and end up on the internet.“You don't even realize how you're acting,” I snapped my head toward Chris.“What do you mean?” I grit out.“Look at your hands,” he gestures toward my clenched fists. “They've been folded into fists since you got in the car. You've been acting possessive.”“Fuck you,” I hiss. “I'm pissed because she was being reckless. Anyone could've recorded her.”He nods. “Uh-huh. Whatever helps you sleep at night.”I groan. He's not helping me. “I'm going in.”He nods again. “Just go easy on her.” I roll my eyes at him and slam the door shut behind me.Go easy on her? She practically sprinted to the Uber she had called.Huh.I wasn't the only one embarrassed about my actions last night. Honestly, I don't have a reason to kiss her like I did. Do I regret it? No, I don't. If anything, that kiss makes me want more. She's this enigmatic woman who exudes sexual energy. The way she walks, talks, and even speaks sometimes screams nympho, which surprises me because she's a virgin nympho.I snicker at my thoughts as I sift through the files on my table. My office door opens, and I already know it's my dad without needing to look up at him.I'm furious, and I can't even say I understand why he lied because I don't. His footsteps grow closer as he walks to the desk. “Everything's looking good so far,” he comments. “The board has been impressed with the increasing stock numbers.”I lift my head and fix him with a glare. He swallows. “Why?” One question, and f

SAVANNAH“Come back here!” I yell as I chase after my three-year-old son, who seems to be in the mood for his mischief. “Zion! Get back here!”He runs up the stairs and behind his father. “C’mon baby, let me him go,” my husband says as he looks at me. “I'm sure he didn't mean to.”I glare at him. “Uh-huh, I'm sure he didn't mean to take the cookies I made personally for Thanksgiving.”Dominic's eyes widen as he turns to his son, who throws him a toothy grin. “See?” he says as he looks at his son. “He didn't mean it.” I glare at him; he is a sucker for Zion.I roll my eyes as I stretch out my arms to him. “Give me my daughter,” I say as I smirk at him. “Go downstairs and care for everything else since you want to defend your son. Go ahead and take on the responsibility of cleaning the mess he made.”He pouts. “But I am holding our baby,” he says as he kisses our princess. “C’mon.”I glare at him. “Give her to me. You and your son go and take care of everything else.” He pouts, but I rem

DOMINIC“It’s a boy!” I announce, pushing the door open. Excited squeals and gasps surround me as I look at our family. “I have to go back in!” I say, pulling the door close leaving the noise outside. My wife needs me.Re-entering, I see our baby boy lying on her chest as they clean her up. She looks up, eyes watering. “Our baby,” she says weakly, and I nod vehemently as I kneel before her bed, “He’s so beautiful,” she says as she looks down at him. I nod as tears trail down my cheeks. “Thank you,” I say, rubbing her head. “Thank you.”“Excuse me, sir, please wait outside.” the nurse asks. I nod. “We’ll call you back in a few minutes.”I place a gentle kiss on her forehead. “I'll be right outside.” Leaning down, I kiss the top of my son’s head and walk outside.I find myself turning and looking at the nurse, picking up the baby and going to clean him, I'm sure. Find everybody waiting eagerly. “How are they?”“They're fine. I think they are about to clean them up,” I say, closing the d

DOMINICThe atmosphere is charged with anticipation as I tap my feet, awaiting her. The space around me echoes the silent suspense. “Should we wait some more?” a voice asks, and I nod tightly, reassuring more myself than the speaker, “She’ll come. She’ll be here soon.”As I contemplate checking my phone, the door swings open, and my pulse goes haywire. She's here. She's adorned in a flowing white dress, eyes glistening as she approaches. I smile softly, and she reciprocates, causing my heart to pound. As she reaches me, she mouths, “I'm sorry.” I shake my head, pulling her into me. “I had cramps.”My concern shows with a frown. “Are you okay? Is it severe?” I hold her at arm’s length. “Is it okay?”She smiles brightly. “Yeah, I'm fine.” She exhales. “Let's do this.”I smile, kissing her forehead before taking my stance beside her. We're remarrying today, a private renewal of vows away from prying eyes. I wanted our loved ones present, but I asked her about the wedding she wanted, and s

I blink as my eyes adjust to the surroundings, and gasps escape my lips. This is a house in the middle of a field surrounded by flowers of all kinds, a two-story building painted black and white. My lips stretch into a wide grin as the scent of the field and flowers fills the air. “Do you like it?” Dominic asks as he stands behind me. “Is it to your taste?”I whirl around to face him. “Do I like it?!” I ask as I look around, and he nods. “No, I don't.” His face drops, and a broad smile spread across my face. “I freaking love it.”I see him breathe out a sigh of relief. “You had me scared for a second,” he says as he wraps his arms around me and pulls me to him. “This is ours.”My eyes widen as I look at him. “For us? You bought it?” He nods as he looks around. “Why?”He smiles. “I figure we have somewhere to escape and spend time together. We needed a getaway, and although I could've taken you anywhere worldw

Elizabeth Miller.I'm struggling with my thousands of emotions, a turbulent whirlwind. I've always prided myself on maintaining my resolve to stay clear of Sebastian Knights, and I've succeeded. They say there's a thin line between love and hate, and I've found that true. To release the love I once had for him, I had to blur that line and harbor a deep resentment for him—the man who took everything from me.I shake my head, recalling our conversation the day Savannah shared the news of her pregnancy and the way he looked at me when I discovered he had given me his kidney. He saved my life, and why would he do such a thing? I cling to the notion that he did it for her, not me. Although I believe that, a small part of me questions: What if it was more than just for Savannah? What if he did it for me?I scoff at my thoughts as I step outside, my heart racing as I search for him. Sebastian Knights has always had a knack for breaking down every wall I built, and the hatred I clung to was a

DOMINIC “And this decision today was taken based on all the evidence and testimonies that were given to us today," my hands find Dominic's legs as he pulls me closer to him, "and it reads as follows."Savannah’s hands tighten around mine, and I pull her closer. “The court has found the accused guilty as charged with every available evidence,” the judge continues. My hands tighten around Savannah, and I pull her closer to me. “There will be no bond for Becca Knights and the rest of the defendants.” I see Evans' jaw clench tight.Aisha turns to us and smiles tightly. I scowl at her, knowing that she might have helped to save Savannah, but she was the reason she was taken in the first place.“Becca Knights is sentenced to a hundred years with no parole and heavy duties.” Becca's eyes widen, and she gasps as she looks at him before her eyes turn to us. I subconsciously pull Savannah closer to me. “Sophia Knights is sentenced to fifteen years in prison with parole.” I see Sophia bow her he
