Chapter 105- Family

“It’s a boy!” I announce, pushing the door open. Excited squeals and gasps surround me as I look at our family. “I have to go back in!” I say, pulling the door close leaving the noise outside.

My wife needs me.

Re-entering, I see our baby boy lying on her chest as they clean her up. She looks up, eyes watering. “Our baby,” she says weakly, and I nod vehemently as I kneel before her bed, “He’s so beautiful,” she says as she looks down at him.

I nod as tears trail down my cheeks. “Thank you,” I say, rubbing her head. “Thank you.”

“Excuse me, sir, please wait outside.” the nurse asks. I nod. “We’ll call you back in a few minutes.”

I place a gentle kiss on her forehead. “I'll be right outside.” Leaning down, I kiss the top of my son’s head and walk outside.

I find myself turning and looking at the nurse, picking up the baby and going to clean him, I'm sure. Find everybody waiting eagerly. “How are they?”
