The rattling of utensils in Luke’s room can be heard when he was on the verge of waking up from his sleep after eating warm chicken noodle soup that was left outside his door earlier today. It was blurry with the light illuminating the dark room with an unknown silhouette in front of him, cleaning the wooden bed table below his bed. Luke grunted as he tried to support his upper body with his left arm to see who it was but before he could recognize that person, his dizziness struck. “Just rest, Luke.” &n

Luke was quietly and calmly hiking up the hill on his way to school while minding his own business of feeling the warmth that the sun gave and the cool wind that brushed his skin. The unusual thing that morning was that no schoolmates greeted him and how they avoided his gaze while whispering to one another and glancing at him in between. Uncomfortable as it was, Luke tried to push his negative thoughts by making excuses as there might be something on his face or on his back while gently shaking his head. As their voices are getting into Luke’s attention more than before, he stopped on his tracks and checked his face through his phone th
