Before Sonia could even locate Joanne, Edwin came racing to the hospital. His face, usually so playful and carefree, had turned blue with worry and fear. The veins on his forehead bulged with tension.

When he arrived at the ward, he found only empty rooms.

"Where is everyone?" he asked.

Sonia hung her head in shame. "I... I came back from my phone call and found that Mrs. Atherton and her daughter were gone. The nurse said they had been discharged."

"Discharged?" Edwin fumed. "I told you to protect them around the clock! The billboard nearly smashed them, and you let them leave the hospital?"

A wave of oppression washed over Sonia, and she felt even more guilty. "I'll go find them right away."
