Sophia Wyatt’s pov:
Sophia Wyatt- 16 years oldRowan Levisay- 14 years old
“Can you please stop staring at me?” I snapped at him. A blush crept to his cheeks, and he moved his eyes away. I felt bad for taking out my frustration on him.
But the way he used to look at me, everyone around us knew that he had a crush on me. My friends used to ogle at him and used to sigh whenever they found him eyeing me.
“Sophie! He is so hot!” Nova used to remark with a dreamy expression on her face. Irritatingly my best friend never said that about Colter, my boyfriend.
Rowan Levisay got his great looks from his parents.
He had class, style, looks, and just the right amount of hotness. That hotness was too much to handle for all the girls around.
Except me.
His father still had the aura that could make all females go weak in the knees.
At this age, he was a spitting image of his father, Hunter Levisay. Our parents were family friends. I was an adopted daughter who was spoiled by her adoptive parents to bits.
Everyone in the family knew that Rowan was crazy for me. But I was never into younger boys. For me, the perfect one shouldn’t be older or younger. He must be of my age.
My boyfriend Colter checked all the boxes. He was handsome, funny, good-looking, and just two months older than me.
My ideal.
Well! At first glance, everyone thought he was just perfect. Later, when that same person would meet Rowan, Colter used to vanish in the background.
Everyone knew that Rowan Levisay would be a lady killer just like his dad.
Rowan’s elder twin sisters Marissa and Maria shared good bonding with me. They must be one or two years elder than me and always treated me as their sister.
I was so absorbed in my thoughts that I didn’t notice when someone circled his arms around me from behind.
“Who are you thinking about, love.” I smiled when I heard Colter’s voice. He was the captain of the school’s soccer team and carried his heart on his sleeve. He leaned down and started kissing me right then and there.
The kiss left me breathless. Looking into his grey eyes I smiled, “Nothing, love.”
Then I stood up and fixed the strap of my bag on my shoulder. Nova raised an eyebrow when she saw me leaving.
“After school, you can come to my place Nova. I will help you with the project.” She nodded at me and looked ahead to where Rowan was still sitting. His face was no more friendly now. It seemed as if he wanted to strangle Colter.
I reminded myself to talk to Abigail Levisay, his mom. Colter already used to feel guilty for not having a strong financial background.
He did not deserve such rude glances from a mere boy who was two years younger than him.

Without bothering to look around, I quickly hid myself behind the couch. This was our summer break and as always, we were spending our summers at Levisay’s gigantic house.
I, Merissa, Maria, Rowan, and our friends were all gathered to play the old kids’ game.
Hide and seek.
Yeah, I know. We were too old for that. But it was an old tradition where we used to play it every year. We all were childhood friends and never gave a damn that the game was not for us anymore.
Maria was looking for us and we were hiding in different places. Stifling my giggles, I started crawling back until my back hit something.
What was it?
Very slowly I turned around and found myself staring into the green eyes of Rowan Levisay.I wanted to speak but could not.
I was already recovering from the one month old painful breakup with Colter. We kept sitting there staring into each other’s eyes when I saw his head coming down slowly towards me.
Besides having killing looks, he was a thorough gentleman and was taught about the importance of consent. Leaning forward he was waiting for my permission, silently.
How about…
What if…
Should I…
There were so many questions racing through my mind.
Ok. I think it won’t hurt if I will taste him just this once.
Just this once. Let’s get over with it.
His eyes dipped down to my lips. Quite unsure of myself, I bent ahead and stopped myself just an inch away from his lips.
A side smirk appeared on his lips and then he came down and touched my lips with his soft ones ever so slightly.
Shoot!
What were those? Sparks?
Yes, sparks!
I never knew his lips were so ... I mean they tasted great. I raised my eyes and found him looking down at me. It seemed he did not intend to kiss me but just give me a little taste of his own sweet lips.
It was not even a proper kiss. Then why girls raved about it, him being a great kisser?
I suddenly stood up and lifted my foot to walk away.
“Sophie!” I found my hand in his grip.
“Stop it, Rowan. Even if I am without a boyfriend that doesn’t mean you stand a chance. Ok?” I could see hurt flashing through his eyes.
With a slight nod, he stepped back.

Holding Colter’s hand, I was happily meeting all the guests. They all were congratulating us because well! I got married to the love of my life.
Initially, Mom didn’t want me to go ahead with it. She had her reservations. Maybe because Colter was not rich like us.
But I took a stand. My adoptive father who was a former movie star stayed with me on the decision. He was a gem who showered his love and undivided attention on me.
Even my brother Jackson could not snatch it. By the way, just like my parents, my brother was also a sweetheart.
I could see my friends’ group enjoying the booze.
“Can’t wait to rip that dress off you.” I heard Colter’s whisper close to my ear and smiled.
“And I just can’t wait to take this suit off you.” I giggled.
“Hey, newlyweds.” Merissa and Maria came to me for hugs, “You both look so cute together. By the way, are you two going to tell us about that surprise honeymoon destination?”
They were identical twins and were thriving in their careers.
“Not now,” Colter clicked his tongue with mischief, “It’s still a surprise for my wife,” then he turned to me, “Sweetheart. I think Dad wants me there to meet someone. Can you come to me after meeting them,” he glanced towards the twin duo.
“Sure. Love. I’ll be there in a minute.” He kissed me and left the spot. I noticed Merissa and Maria’s gazes following him.
I knew. My husband was handsome.
“By the way, there is a surprise for you,” Merissa said holding my hands, “And it just arrived.” I turned to Maria questioningly and found her rolling her eyes with excitement.
“Anddd… what is it?” I chewed my lower lip. Instead of giving any response they started looking behind me.
I frowned and turned around only to get bumped into Rowan Levisay.
“Rowan!” My mouth was hung open, “What the …” I heard Marissa and Maria’s giggles. He had been away for studies and was rarely home.
He was about to become a Harvard graduate. Brains run in their family.
“How … I mean … when did you arrive?” I hugged my old friend and felt the whiff of the same male scent that was part of him for as long as I could remember.
“See,” he spread his arms and let me have a look at him, “Dad told me that I was not supposed to miss your wedding.” He chuckled, “So here I am straight from the airport.”
The last time, I saw him, it was maybe two years back. He was taller than me but was never this towering. I felt small in front of him.
Due to my Turkish genes from my mom, I had jet-black hair that was partially wavy with black eyes. While Rowan had inky black hair with green eyes that he inherited from his grandmother.
He stepped back and ran a gaze over me, from head to toe, “Just look at you, Sophie. Congratulations,” he told me sincerely. Thankfully he seemed to grow up and move on. That was a relief.
“Thanks, mate.” I playfully bumped my fist into his chest.
“Hey, girl. Your husband wants you to meet someone. Go to him.” Out of nowhere Nova came and gave me a little shove.
“Thanks, Rowan.” I hugged him again, “for coming here all the way.” I finished a bit awkwardly. Aside from his crush thingy, he was a gentleman and always respected my boundaries. We did share an amazing bond before he turned fourteen.
“Oh, it’s nothing. Just …” he paused for a moment, “Just ping me… whenever you need me.” It didn’t make sense. Why would I need him?
Before I could say anything, Nova placed her hand on his chest flirtatiously, “I’ll let you know whenever she will need help.” She batted her fake lashes dramatically.
Ha-ha. Crazy Nova.
While walking to my husband, I felt genuinely happy that Rowan was here for my wedding. That small guilt that he had feelings for me vanished into thin air.
“Hey, wifey. Meet Mr…” I happily tried to concentrate on my husband who was introducing me to someone.
I didn’t know why but out of the blue, I decided to turn around and see.
Just one look at Rowan. Of course, he must be busy flirting with Nova who never had a problem with him being younger.
Gulping down, I nodded at the man who was talking to me, and ever so slowly turned my head to look back.
My heart missed a beat when I saw Rowan Levisay looking at me. Even at this distance, I could make out a broken expression on his face. He seemed hurt.
And … he hadn’t moved on.

Tonight, was our first wedding anniversary. Colter was in office. I wanted to cook a special meal for my beloved husband. I wanted to surprise him by wearing something nice. But I could not.
Because as always, I was handcuffed to the post of my bed. There was nothing on my body except a pair of red lacy panties.

Sophia pov:When I got married, I was on cloud nine for one month. It felt like a dream to walk beside him as his wife.Dad had given us an entire building to be used as our office where we could carry our business. The plan was to join the new office along with him but on our honeymoon, he kept convincing me to be a stay-at-home wife.He wanted me to take care of the home and cook hot meals for him. The idea didn’t sit well with me initially as my father always pushed me to be an independent woman. But I guess I got blind to his love.It had been a week since he started going to the office. I sent him after serving him breakfast and got busy cleaning the house when the doorbell rang.“Yes?” I went to the door and found a delivery guy standing there.“You have got a delivery from Raphael Wyatt, ma’am.” The guy informed me.“Daddy sent me a parcel!” I signed the receipt and brought the parcel inside with a big grin on my face. I was through and through Daddy’s girl. When I opened it, i
Sophia pov: (Trigger warning: Physical abuse but I tried my best not to be too graphic.) My heart was pounding as I stared at Rowan. What was he trying to say? Was he suggesting that I was making a mistake by staying with Colter? I felt defensive and protective of my marriage. No one had the right to interfere in my matters. "Care to explain what you are talking about?" I said, trying to keep my tone steady. I could feel the tension in the air between us. There was no explanation. This was my marriage, and I was adamant to work on it. I thought to myself. "You don't look fine," Rowan said in a hushed tone, trying to keep our conversation private. For the others around us, we were just two old friends catching up. I tried to keep a smile on my face for the sake of appearances. But Rowan wasn't letting it go. "Remember that movie night, Sophie?" he said, leaning in closer. "When we were all watching that suspense thriller. The kidnapped girl sent a message to her boyfriend, 'Help!'
Emerald Wyatt’s pov(Sophia’s adoptive mom)I took slow sips of my morning coffee, trying to push away the uneasy feeling in my chest. The dinner party last night had been a lively affair, but something about it left me feeling unsettled.Sophia, my daughter, got married last year, but I couldn't shake the feeling that something was off.I had never been in favor of Sophia's early marriage. I wanted her to pursue her career and become more confident before settling down. Hunter's daughters, Merissa and Maria, who were also present at the dinner, reminded me of what Sophia could have achieved had she not gotten married so young. Maybe I should have tried harder to persuade her."What are you thinking, Guzel?" Raphael, my husband, wrapped his strong arms around me from behind. Sophia pov “Your tooth is just fine,” the physician said after examining it, “You are feeling the pain due to the …” he paused for a moment, “the blow. I mean…” “We understand doctor,” Rowan stepped in while standing there. He had provided me with a pink t-shirt and pink cotton funky pants. “It’s Maria’s!” he explained when I had knitted my brows examining it. “I am placing some painkillers along with a sleeping pill on your nightstand. You need to take rest, Mrs. Wright.” I wanted to wince at the surname, “For now you must go for soft food.” The word food reminded me, I didn’t eat anything since morning. Whatever I ate at night was vomited out of my system. I plopped back on the pillow when Rowan escorted the doctor out of the room. The thought of popping in all those pills was making me sick. I always hated taking medicines. Dad was the one who used to put up with my grumbling and crankiness and help me swallow those pills. A uniformed woman came inside with a small tray, we
Sophia pov:As we were having our breakfast, the tension between us was palpable. It was the first time we had eaten together in what felt like ages, except that last anniversary dinner and I couldn't help but feel a sense of relief at the thought of finally being able to enjoy a meal in peace. For some reason, Rowan had stopped attending our family reunions in the summers a long time back. The stress and anxiety of the past few months had taken a toll on me, and right now I was grateful for this opportunity to unwind. But even as I savored each bite of my breakfast, I couldn't shake off the nagging feeling of unease that lingered at the back of my mind. It had been one year since I last ate anything in the morning, and the mere thought of food made my stomach churn.I used to avoid eating and drinking in the mornings because I knew I would be cuffed and won’t get a chance to visit the bathroom.I couldn't help but think back to the time I spent with Colter in the past year. Sophia pov:“Yes, I am Sophia. And … no!” I smiled unsure of myself, “You haven’t disturbed me at all. Thanks to these soundproof walls.” “Yeah,” he extended his hand for a handshake, “Hello. I am Ryan,” I shook his hand finding him sweet because he did not stare at me due to my facial wounds. Turning around, he twisted the door handle and opened the bedroom door. “Guys. See, who is here.” Quite hesitantly, I followed Ryan into the bedroom and was surprised to find a group of young people already there. Two girls and three guys, to be exact. Including Rowan. They all turned to look at us as we entered. As soon as Rowan found me entering inside, he stood up grinning at me. "Hey guys, this is THE Sophia," Ryan said mischievously, gesturing to me. "We are Justin’s friends, Sophia. Sorry for crashing unannounced. The girl with a small ponytail is Kim," he pointed to one of the girls, "and the other two are Mike and Mia." I kind of knew their faces. While stalking Rowan’s profile I di
Sophia pov:I was tossing and turning in my bed. For getting up early morning, I skipped my sleeping pill but now this light throbbing pain in my jaw was not letting me sleep.“Sophie?” I saw Rowan leaning against the door frame wearing boxers.Only in boxers.“Yes, Rowan?” I sat up and started pulling my hair in a bun, “how can I help you?” I asked like a professional receptionist making him chuckle.“I wish you could help me…” I heard him muttering and my hands paused in my hair.“What did you say?”“Nothing. Why are you not asleep yet?” he came inside and instead of walking to the edge of the bed, he went to the other side and fell on his face beside me.“Nothing. There is this slight pain here,” the moment the words were out of my mouth, he was at once sitting up with a frown.“Show me,” he came closer walking on his knees. I quickly fixed the neckline of my sleeping dress and pulled the quilt to my neck. Also, I tried my best to ignore those powerful thighs …Hell!“Did you take

Sophia’s pov: Colter was smart, intelligent, and the school’s soccer team captain. For every girl, he was an ideal. But he chose me as his girlfriend. We were good initially but then he started showing his true colors. “Your cousin is a creep, Sophie. He keeps staring at you. The little boy can’t control his urges,” he used to make fun of Rowan and I never liked it. “He is NOT my cousin, Colt.” I used to defend Rowan and that used to annoy him even more. “Yeah. Whatever. He is younger, Sophie. Just a kid! Don’t ever forget that. Trust me! Nobody wants to date a baby.” His remark tugged my heartstrings that day. Every other day he used to get aggressive and used to remind me that Rowan was just a mere kid. Most of the time his aggression used to be due to Rowan. He disliked it when Rowan used to sit right opposite our place in the cafeteria. He easily could get offended if he would find Rowan, visiting my place. I tried convincing him that Rowan was a family friend but failed.
Rowan’s pov:The girl in my arms was sleeping soundly. She was making me feel like my arms were the best place where she could get that deep sleep. She was making me feel like I was a safe haven for her. That fuc*ker Colter tried to take away her spirit. Her soul. But she did it. She defeated him. The day she called me for help, I knew how much courage she must have gathered to do it. To type that single message. That single word.“Rowan!” she murmured in her sleep and stirred in my arms.“Go to sleep, Sophie. You are safe.” I said and closed my eyes but the she-devil close to me, kept rubbing herself against me intimately.“Soph!” I whispered and she made a pout in her sleep and opened her sleep-filled hooded eyes to look at me, “Go to sleep, love.”I tried to control my desire shooting up by her touch. She shook her head and started rubbing her cheek against my chest skin.“You smell amazing, Rowan.” She started kissing my chest and then climbed up to bring her face close to mine, “
Rowan Levisay pov I looked down at the delicate girl in my arms who, very slowly, was now getting closer to me. She already lived in my heart and had, at last, started seeing me. The only difference was, she spotted me after twenty-five goddamn years. And I noticed her when I was just two. She used to sit cozily in bed with my sisters. I could hear their giggling sounds in my cot and always wanted to get down so that I could join the fun. Sometimes, Mom used to allow me to go to them. They used to cuddle me in between and all I wanted at that time was to sit beside my girl. She used to get irritated by my presence, and how I used to cling to her, stare at her. “Mom! I think she doesn’t like me.” While growing up, the four years old me, asked my mom. She smiled and made me sit on her lap. “She might see you if you stop clinging to her. Nobody likes that, Rowan. Everyone loves to have some space, son.” In my teenage years, I could never make a steady girlfriend. Because they all u
Sophia’s pov. Restless, I continued to toss and turn in my bed, the weight of my past worries pressing heavily upon my chest. The hushed murmurs drifting up from downstairs did confirm what I already knew. My parents were still awake and their concern for me was refusing to let them succumb to sleep. Normally, my parents were early sleepers, but tonight was different. Tonight, their parental instincts were on high alert, their worry for me was palpable in the air. Ever since I could remember, they were protective of me and had shielded me from harm, nurtured me with unwavering love and care. As my adoptive parents, they made me and Jackson their utmost priority. They never let us feel that I was adopted and that Jackson was their own blood. As the minutes ticked by, I couldn't help but reflect on the countless times they had been my pillars of strength. They had been my unwavering support, always there to lend a hand or offer to just listen to me. To make me feel heard. And now,
Emerald's pov: The weight of her words settled upon us like a heavy burden, each of us grappling with our own emotions. But at that moment, amidst the chaos of thoughts and feelings, one thing was clear — Sophie had endured some kind of ordeal. Something that was beyond our thoughts, and we had to listen, support, and help her find solace in our embrace. “Talk to us, love.” Rafael encouraged her to speak, “What is it? What did Colt do to you?” his voice seemed tense. “If I will tell you then would you believe me?” She asked Rafael innocently. Like a baby. Gosh! I wanted to cry. I could not wait to be alone and cry in my husband’s arms. But right now, we both needed to stay strong. “Yes, we will.” Abigail spoke with determination, “You are our kid. Why won’t we trust you?” The moment Abigail said that Sophia started crying. Her tears started slipping down her smooth cheeks. “Sophie?” Rafael and I both called her name. We both were shocked. “Mom! Dad! The one month I was with him
Emerald's pov:Sophia was trembling while taking hesitant steps forward. She looked exhausted as if she had been through an ordeal that no words could adequately describe. The room remained silent, each of us holding our breath, waiting for her to speak.I saw Hunter gesturing for his investigators to leave the room without a sound. Finally, Sophia’s voice broke the silence, which was weak yet determined. "I... I'm sorry. I never meant to cause you all this worry. It's... it's complicated. I'll explain, I promise."Rafael and I exchanged glances, a mix of relief and concern etched on our faces. We moved closer to Sophia, enveloping her in a gentle embrace, offering comfort and reassurance. The room slowly came alive with a mixture of relief, confusion, and a silent desire for answers.Hunter, his voice laced with a mix of relief and urgency, stepped forward. "Sophie, we've been searching for you. Where have you been? Are you alright?"Sophia took a deep breath, her eyes darting around
Emerald Wyatt pov: (Sophia’s foster mom)“Emerald. Stop crying.” Abigail Levisay hugged me tightly, “Hunter has called Rowan and he will be here any minute. We will find Sophie. Don’t lose hope.”Tears were streaming down my face. I was sitting on the armchair, clutching a tissue in my trembling hands. Abigail Levisay … my compassionate friend and Rowan’s mom was kneeling beside me, offering comfort.I was sobbing uncontrollably, struggling to compose myself.“I can't help it, Abigail. I'm so scared for Sophie. It's been two days, and we still have no idea where she could be. And now with Colter found dead ... What if something terrible has happened to my daughter too?”Abigail wrapped her arms around me, holding me tightly. She shushed me gently, “I know, darling. It's an incredibly distressing situation, but we have to stay strong. We can't lose hope. Hunter has called Rowan, and he's on his way here. Rowan has connections. He slowly shook his head and wrapped a bathrobe around me.“I can’t risk that, Sophie.” He draped a towel around my hair like a turban. He was still wearing his costume while I was there without a piece of clothing, “I can take my shower later.”True to his word, he didn’t even bat an eye on my nak*edness.“I promise, I would be decent enough not to sed*uce you,” I said mischievously making him chuckle.“And do you think that would make me happy, princess?” he placed his palms on either side of me on the walls of the bathroom behind me,His eyes were searching mine with a mixture of seriousn
