Sarah’s pov“Sarah. Don’t you think you are being emotional? Justin can never stay angry with you. He loves you and you know that.”My friends Nadia and Shella were trying to console me. Justin did not receive my call after that. I knew he loved me and cared for me. This was the first time he did not talk to me for almost three days.“I agree with Nadia,” Shella spoke for the first time, “Give some time to him. It was just a silly bet. We tried to warn you that Olivia is just jealous of you. She was after Justin for quite some time.”Shella who had a secret crush on Justin tried to scold me. Nadia did like Justin but at least she had a steady boyfriend. Shella was still single by choice. We all were sitting in the luxury suite of our hotel.“Don’t worry about Justin. Granny told me that maid is not much beautiful. I trust my fiancé.” My fingers were intertwined under my chin, “It’s just that… he is upset because of me.”I did not know why I was getting this uncomfortable feeling in
Ashley’s pov “Ashley? Sweetheart? You are crying? What happened?” Concern was dripping from his voice, and it was making me cry even more. “Shh…” Still kneeling on the floor, he lifted his hand and gently wiped my cheeks with his thumb, “Can you be alone for a few minutes? I will just be back in a jiff.” He snapped his fingers. I managed to nod at him. Without realizing what he was doing, he gave me a quick kiss on my forehead and went out leaving the door slightly ajar. I started wiping the tears with the back of my hand. It was stupid of me to cry like this when Justin was not at fault here. Maybe I needed to blame this time of the month for making me extra sensitive. Waiting for him patiently I started tapping my foot on the floor when I heard him walking to the bathroom, “Ashley?” Such a gentleman. He was again asking for my permission. This time I did respond to him. “Yes.” He entered with his gaze lowered down and extended his hand to hand over a brown envelope. Not under
Ashley’s povThankfully my Excel sheet experience proved to be of some use. Whatever Justin wanted, I not only got it in a jiffy but also started doing it on a PC placed in the corner of the study. He got busy with his laptop on his desk and kept taking his official calls. Once I started doing my job, we did not talk much except I once asked him if I could start munching Doritos.A man whose name was Alex delivered large bags of Doritos to the office. The moment Justin nodded at me to go ahead I beamed and got busy. While doing my work I was aware of his strong presence in the room. I could feel the occasional glances, he was throwing in my direction. It felt like working near him was making him happy. My work was going smoothly when I got stuck at a company’s name. I couldn’t remember if I was supposed to include its calculation or not.“Justin. Do I have to include this company’s calculations or leave it?” I asked him when he was talking to someone on call. Now it was counted as bad
Ashley povI could not maintain eye contact. He looked so sexy in that black t-shirt.“Come on, Justin. I was getting bored and badly need your company.” I gestured for him to sit before me.“If you are getting bored, you can watch TV, Ashley!” His face had gotten serious.“I have already broken lots of rules, Justin. I went out of the room. I am using your company. You are taking care of me. None of this is your responsibility. You are already doing a lot.” Leaning towards him I whispered, “I know what you are hiding from me.”His eyes went wide when I scrunched my nose, “W…What do you mean?”“I mean to say is…” I rolled my lips between my teeth, “I know you are keeping him away!” I giggled and he frowned looking down at my face.“I am talking about my husband, silly.” I kind of reminded him, “You are keeping him away to keep me safe. Isn’t it?” Strangely he did not react to it and started wiping his hands with the napkin.“What? You are not eating your meal?” He shook his head and t
Ashley pov:I had fallen asleep on the bed in his arms. I did not know why he did not insist me to go back to my mattress, but I liked his closeness. The next morning, I woke up when a maid knocked the door for bringing my breakfast. The moment she placed the tray and left, I quickly went to the bathroom and took shower. Justin was no more there beside me.It did not feel good to eat something without his company. I sat on the bed and removed the lid. When I was placing the lid on the nightstand, my eyes caught a piece of paper. I picked it up and unfolded it.“Hello, Kitten. I am leaving some more Dorito bags. Enjoy them. And yes! You are ALLOWED to watch TV. Ok? Don’t get bored. Once I will be back you can help me with some more calculations.”I was horrified when I realized I was tracing his firm handwriting under my thumb. Oh, Justin. I miss you. I just can’t wait for you to return and give me company. He was a true gentleman who was funny, and mischievous and never tried to touch
“Where is Justin, granny?” I sked Electra Deluca. “He is out for his usual meetings.” She pursed her lips in a thin line. I wanted to ask her about Helga but that was not wise in the presence of my friends. “How is Sean? Is he also accompanying Justin?” I asked taking off my shoes tiredly. By now all I wanted was a comfortable bed and Justin’s arms around me. “Lately, he has been acting weirdly, not responding to my calls. I just don’t know what is going on around here!” I wish I could kick the old woman. She was the one who convinced me to get him married to a bi*tch! “Ma’am!” A uniformed maid arrived and stood there lowering her gaze. “Are their rooms ready? I don’t want any complaints!” Granny told her in a strict tone. “Everything is done, ma’am. Just the way you asked!” the poor girl was talking to the floor and could not wait to run away. Most of the house help called granny, a Hitler. I wanted to know about that girl but had to wait until we were alone. We were sent to o
Ashley pov:By now I was seething with anger. How dare she!She thought I would be after her fiancé just because he was rich and was married to me. I was trying to control my fury by balling my fists tightly.Justin told me to become a lioness. He was damn right.I should not allow anyone to take advantage of me. The girl before me was undoubtedly beautiful. She had red curls around her perfectly featured face. Her body from head to toe spoke of wealth. Her clothes seemed hell expensive. She was wearing a pair of Christian Louboutin shoes. She kept looking at my face then her nostrils flared up and she turned on her heels to leave the room. Her tone was so insulting when she tried to remind me of my contract marriage conditions.I switched off the TV and started cleaning the bed.“It’s ok, Ashley. Your life is precious. Everything that happens in our lives is necessarily not there to make us feel happy. Sometimes we need to pay the price for our happiness.” Mother Superior lectured me
Sarah pov After I was done with that girl, I felt light. I stormed out of her room and went straight to bed. I needed my nap to clear the fog off my mind. Initially, I was upset when I heard her accusation against Justin then something dawned on me. She was saying these things because she knew Justin did not belong to her. She could never have Justin. And that was the reason for her whining. Like other girls, she knew she could never have Justin. That brought a smile to my face. Due to her stupid blaming game, I missed my lunch too. I did not know if my friends had it or not. “Wake up, bit*ch. You are killing us by keeping us hungry for so long!” I got up still in my half sleeping mind. “Nadia?” I stretched and tried to open my eyes. I saw two shaking images of my friends, “I am sorry.” I again closed my eyes and hit my head on the pillow, “I thought you two already had lunch.” “We thought you went to Justin’s room. Where were you?” “Umm. I did go there. She is a true bi*tch!

Sophia’s pov: Colter was smart, intelligent, and the school’s soccer team captain. For every girl, he was an ideal. But he chose me as his girlfriend. We were good initially but then he started showing his true colors. “Your cousin is a creep, Sophie. He keeps staring at you. The little boy can’t control his urges,” he used to make fun of Rowan and I never liked it. “He is NOT my cousin, Colt.” I used to defend Rowan and that used to annoy him even more. “Yeah. Whatever. He is younger, Sophie. Just a kid! Don’t ever forget that. Trust me! Nobody wants to date a baby.” His remark tugged my heartstrings that day. Every other day he used to get aggressive and used to remind me that Rowan was just a mere kid. Most of the time his aggression used to be due to Rowan. He disliked it when Rowan used to sit right opposite our place in the cafeteria. He easily could get offended if he would find Rowan, visiting my place. I tried convincing him that Rowan was a family friend but failed.
Rowan’s pov:The girl in my arms was sleeping soundly. She was making me feel like my arms were the best place where she could get that deep sleep. She was making me feel like I was a safe haven for her. That fuc*ker Colter tried to take away her spirit. Her soul. But she did it. She defeated him. The day she called me for help, I knew how much courage she must have gathered to do it. To type that single message. That single word.“Rowan!” she murmured in her sleep and stirred in my arms.“Go to sleep, Sophie. You are safe.” I said and closed my eyes but the she-devil close to me, kept rubbing herself against me intimately.“Soph!” I whispered and she made a pout in her sleep and opened her sleep-filled hooded eyes to look at me, “Go to sleep, love.”I tried to control my desire shooting up by her touch. She shook her head and started rubbing her cheek against my chest skin.“You smell amazing, Rowan.” She started kissing my chest and then climbed up to bring her face close to mine, “
Rowan Levisay pov I looked down at the delicate girl in my arms who, very slowly, was now getting closer to me. She already lived in my heart and had, at last, started seeing me. The only difference was, she spotted me after twenty-five goddamn years. And I noticed her when I was just two. She used to sit cozily in bed with my sisters. I could hear their giggling sounds in my cot and always wanted to get down so that I could join the fun. Sometimes, Mom used to allow me to go to them. They used to cuddle me in between and all I wanted at that time was to sit beside my girl. She used to get irritated by my presence, and how I used to cling to her, stare at her. “Mom! I think she doesn’t like me.” While growing up, the four years old me, asked my mom. She smiled and made me sit on her lap. “She might see you if you stop clinging to her. Nobody likes that, Rowan. Everyone loves to have some space, son.” In my teenage years, I could never make a steady girlfriend. Because they all u
Sophia’s pov. Restless, I continued to toss and turn in my bed, the weight of my past worries pressing heavily upon my chest. The hushed murmurs drifting up from downstairs did confirm what I already knew. My parents were still awake and their concern for me was refusing to let them succumb to sleep. Normally, my parents were early sleepers, but tonight was different. Tonight, their parental instincts were on high alert, their worry for me was palpable in the air. Ever since I could remember, they were protective of me and had shielded me from harm, nurtured me with unwavering love and care. As my adoptive parents, they made me and Jackson their utmost priority. They never let us feel that I was adopted and that Jackson was their own blood. As the minutes ticked by, I couldn't help but reflect on the countless times they had been my pillars of strength. They had been my unwavering support, always there to lend a hand or offer to just listen to me. To make me feel heard. And now,
Emerald's pov: The weight of her words settled upon us like a heavy burden, each of us grappling with our own emotions. But at that moment, amidst the chaos of thoughts and feelings, one thing was clear — Sophie had endured some kind of ordeal. Something that was beyond our thoughts, and we had to listen, support, and help her find solace in our embrace. “Talk to us, love.” Rafael encouraged her to speak, “What is it? What did Colt do to you?” his voice seemed tense. “If I will tell you then would you believe me?” She asked Rafael innocently. Like a baby. Gosh! I wanted to cry. I could not wait to be alone and cry in my husband’s arms. But right now, we both needed to stay strong. “Yes, we will.” Abigail spoke with determination, “You are our kid. Why won’t we trust you?” The moment Abigail said that Sophia started crying. Her tears started slipping down her smooth cheeks. “Sophie?” Rafael and I both called her name. We both were shocked. “Mom! Dad! The one month I was with him
Emerald's pov:Sophia was trembling while taking hesitant steps forward. She looked exhausted as if she had been through an ordeal that no words could adequately describe. The room remained silent, each of us holding our breath, waiting for her to speak.I saw Hunter gesturing for his investigators to leave the room without a sound. Finally, Sophia’s voice broke the silence, which was weak yet determined. "I... I'm sorry. I never meant to cause you all this worry. It's... it's complicated. I'll explain, I promise."Rafael and I exchanged glances, a mix of relief and concern etched on our faces. We moved closer to Sophia, enveloping her in a gentle embrace, offering comfort and reassurance. The room slowly came alive with a mixture of relief, confusion, and a silent desire for answers.Hunter, his voice laced with a mix of relief and urgency, stepped forward. "Sophie, we've been searching for you. Where have you been? Are you alright?"Sophia took a deep breath, her eyes darting around
Emerald Wyatt pov: (Sophia’s foster mom)“Emerald. Stop crying.” Abigail Levisay hugged me tightly, “Hunter has called Rowan and he will be here any minute. We will find Sophie. Don’t lose hope.”Tears were streaming down my face. I was sitting on the armchair, clutching a tissue in my trembling hands. Abigail Levisay … my compassionate friend and Rowan’s mom was kneeling beside me, offering comfort.I was sobbing uncontrollably, struggling to compose myself.“I can't help it, Abigail. I'm so scared for Sophie. It's been two days, and we still have no idea where she could be. And now with Colter found dead ... What if something terrible has happened to my daughter too?”Abigail wrapped her arms around me, holding me tightly. She shushed me gently, “I know, darling. It's an incredibly distressing situation, but we have to stay strong. We can't lose hope. Hunter has called Rowan, and he's on his way here. Rowan has connections. Along with Hunter, he can locate Sophie. We're going to fin
Sophia pov:Without another word, he started rubbing my back with soapy hands. Placing my palms on the bathroom walls, I closed my eyes feeling his touch on my body and then my hair with a whiff of my shampoo. He opened the shower and started washing the sand off my hair. I held my breath when I felt his hands unusually lingering on my bre*asts.“May I?” I asked him, offering him the same comfort. He slowly shook his head and wrapped a bathrobe around me.“I can’t risk that, Sophie.” He draped a towel around my hair like a turban. He was still wearing his costume while I was there without a piece of clothing, “I can take my shower later.”True to his word, he didn’t even bat an eye on my nak*edness.“I promise, I would be decent enough not to sed*uce you,” I said mischievously making him chuckle.“And do you think that would make me happy, princess?” he placed his palms on either side of me on the walls of the bathroom behind me,His eyes were searching mine with a mixture of seriousn
