The execution

Sophia was waken by a series of  shots, then suddenly  the door of the bedroom burst opened  a man walks towards the bed and shot at the one lying beside her. She screamed and was slapped into silence.

"What are we going to do with her?" Another man walks in and asked.

"I don't know she not in our list  but she saw us." They both eyeing her naked form.

"Such a waste if we execute her without, you know what? "They shared a knowing look and smiled devilishly.

The next day the media trending news 'Mayor shot dead naked in his apartment,  rumoured mistress missing.'

"What seems to be the matter? your enemy was always one step ahead of you. You have the evidence but it's too late because your target is dead and your witness gone missing." The chief reprimanded Douglas and his men.

"  It's just one of those situation we are not in control of,  we're not in luck this time." Doug reason out. His chief was always breathing  in his neck ever since he was assign to this department.

"Don't blame it on luck Flores you and your men are just too slow, If your not to it then just dropped this case hand it over to other who's more capable! "  Short of saying that they are almost out of the case.

"Chief if every time we face a blank wall in handling cases, we quit, then we will never solve any case.  We still have Intel that can be used just give us time we will get this thing done."  Douglas has a feeling that he has to feed the chief with hope so that they will not be dropped out of the case.

"What Intel?  Are you withholding information from me?" his chief suddenly got interested in what he's saying, as what Doug is expecting.

"I'm sorry,  it's still early to divulge this information, we are still decoding the evidence."  He refused as he has a plan in his  mind its about time he bring this into reality.

"Just remember I am your superior you report directly to me of any development. "His chief said.

 It was actually a trap. Douglas suspected that their chief is involved in this dealing because of their failed moves. their enemy was always one step ahead of them  and  only their chief briefed of their plan as per protocol.

At this time a body of a woman was found dead thrown in the bushes. The body was completely n**ed with signs of being r**"d, with bruises and shot in the forehead.

Douglas was saddened  when he saw the body of Sophia. He was secretly been dealing with her. She was giving him information on the dealings of the mayor. He failed to protect her as he promised.

More so when he read the news involving the wife of the mayor who was innocent to all of it and was accused being the mastermind sighting love triangle is the cause of the execution of the mayor and his mistress. She was held in prison pending cases. The organization had totally manipulated the media with their influences.

Catherine was shocked with the news of her cousin Debra the wife of the mayor. She didn't believed the news.

"This is unbelievable Debra is a pure soul she's the victim rather than the oppressor." 

"Who is Mom?  Kathy ask her mother seeing her mother disturbed by the news.

"Debra my first  cousin, Her family was the one who took me in when my parents died. she used to worked abroad then came home to marry in order to fulfill the will of her father before he died." Her mother explained.

"You mean the one who is on the news  being held responsible for the death of her husband and his mistress?" She asked. she is already familiar with the news since her team is looking already at the possible connection of the mayor on corruption and alleged drug dealing.

"Yes,  Henry Will you come with me  to visit Debra she must be worried for her twins." Her mother asked her father.

"I'm   sorry dear I'm having a seminar remember?" Her father replied

 " Oh! I forgot. Her mother said disappointedly.

"Don't worry mom,  I'm coming with you."  Kathy volunteered, this is a good excuse to gather more information. She thought.

"How are you Debbie" Catherine asked her cousin

"Cathy, I am innocent, I have endured Gus womanizing for a long time for me to react now... I fear for my children where will they go? who will take care of them? if I will be convicted.  I don't want them to go to Gus side of the family." Debra said in between sobs. Her husband's relations maybe hating her since no one came to check on her or help to bail her out.

"Don't worry Debbie we will help. I already talk to my husband we will look after them while you tackle this situation. just you prepare the necessary paperwork."

"Thanks Cathy,  You know I don't have anyone now except for my children." She said in between sobs.

"Hush Debbie you still have me, we're family aren't we. besides my youngest is already in high school what's another cute fellows to run around the house." 

"Auntie do you have any idea who frame you?" Kate inquired in a low voice.

"Why?.... I don't know, we both agreed to get a divorce  after the election. I decided to settled abroad to raise my children away from all of this." Kate contemplated on this.

"Do have something or anything to help you in this case?  Think auntie  maybe there is something we can use." Kate asked, she also suspected her lawyer might had been bribed because of the slow movement of her case.

 "We have a   written agreement on this but we didn't release it so as not to jeopardize his chances of winning the election. " She suddenly said.

"Where is it?" Kathy asked

"It's with my lawyer." She replied

"Is there any other evidence  we can use ? I don't mean to pressure you auntie,,,, but do you know of uncle Gus involvement in drug dealings?" Kathy hesitated to asked this sensitive issue. 

"I've heard rumours but never confronted him we had been living like strangers for a very long time. But I was overwhelmed with the amount of money coming in so I decided to have my investment and assets move abroad so as not to be involved in whatever illegal deeds he is in." Debbie clarified.

"Did  you tell anyone about it?" Kathy dig in more information.

"No,  but you can find documents in connection with this in my vault  behind a painting in my room. here is the combination." She handed her a piece of paper. she took it and look at it  then destroyed it.

" We don't keep evidence like this open  to the enemy, auntie." She told her aunt and she nodded in agreement.

The guards approaches them informing them that time is up for the visitation. 

Debbie was taken back to his cell and Kathy and her mother left to fetched the children after seeing her lawyer. 

Kathy sent her mother home with the children,  saying she has important thing to do. Her mother agrees if it means a help for her cousin, after telling her to be careful.

She went to check the house of the mayor and found that it was difficult to get inside. it was heavily guarded and she realized that not only the guards but also the authorities as well as the drug organization are guarding the place. 

She have to carefully plan her next move. She have to obtain whatever documents available before it falls on the wrong hands and prevent her aunt being doomed forever.

 She open her laptop and study the layout of the mayor house and its surrounding, looking for entry and escape route.  she prepared everything before setting out for her mission. Hoping against hope that nobody has beaten her to that.

 At the same moment someone is also making the same plan. just like her and they are bound to clash.
