Ophelia
It's been four days since we were taken, each day is worse than the day before. I can feel the swelling in my face and eyes. There are marks all over my body, my throat hurts badly I can hardly speak. My arms and legs are covered in bruises. There is dried blood over most of my body and between my legs. I haven't had a shower since I was taken and the smell of myself makes me want to vomit.
They bring me one meal a day and one bottle of water, usually at night. It looks like slop with a piece of bread, it's disgusting but it's better than nothing. I have not heard Damian since the gunshot. I am guessing that he is dead, and I am all alone in here. My body is exhausted and weak as I have not hardly slept since I've been here. As I sit here looking up toward the window, it suddenly hit me, today is my 21st birthday. WOW, hell of a way to spend my birthday. I sat in my corner and cried as I thought about my family and friends. I cannot even begin to imagine what my father and brothers are going through. It was beginning to get dark outside, yet another sleepless night in this fucking prison. I closed my eyes for a moment before being awoken by the sound of the door to my cell slamming against the concrete wall. In walks a tall Russian with a depraved grin on his face, he closes the door behind and walks over to me. Fuck not again.

"Where the fuck is she? Why can't we find her? I want fucking answers!” I screamed at the men standing around me. I was starting to lose my patience. My daughter has been missing for four days and it was driving me insane. It has been so long since I have dealt with blatant retaliation towards my family. This asshole had fucking balls I’d give him that, but I cannot wait to get my hands on him.
The men have been searching during the day while Ben and James run drones at night. James isn't big on guns and fighting but he still wanted to help, so I told Ben to put him to work. Once we searched everything around the compound, I made the decision to go ahead and move north to Montreal and start searching those woods. As night fell, I had this sudden realization. Today is Ophelia's 21st birthday, I closed my eyes and grabbed my chest as pain radiates through my body. The pain of losing a child is unexplainable. I hate this feeling; we must find her soon or I may very well lose my mind.
I walked up to the main house while the rest of the men went to the bunkhouses. I went to my office, walked over to the bar, and pulled out a bottle of whiskey. I grabbed four glasses and went to the kitchen where Liam, Noah and Oliver were sitting at the table discussing search areas for tomorrow.
Standing at the head of the table, I set the bottle and glasses down. My boys stopped what they were doing and looked at me. I could see the pain and anger in their faces. I opened the bottle and poured a little in each glass, I slid a glass to each of them.
“Today is not a good day. This is not how she was supposed to spend her birthday. We need to find her soon; she doesn’t deserve any of this.”
Noah took a deep breath before taking a sip of his whiskey, “We’ll find her soon; it’s taking a little longer than we thought it would. But we’ll find her.”
“I can’t take this much longer; she needs to be home.”
Oliver brushed his hands through his hair, “We know, we’re doing everything we can to find her.”
“I know you are.”
I sat down at the table and listened as my boys made their plans and mapped out new search areas. Ben’s map was giving us a good idea of areas to search. As each team cleared an area, we would mark it off. If we found any buildings, we would mark them on the map then search and clear them. There was not much around this area, a lot of forest and not many abandoned buildings. Ben and James headed out in one of the Knights to Montreal. He has made a miniaturized command center and it’s more efficient to launch the drones closer to their search area. That way the drones have more flight time before needing to be recharged.
After they made their plans for the next day, I got up from the table and went up to my room. I showered and put on a pair of sweatpants then laid down in bed. Most nights have been sleepless, and tonight is no different. I could not imagine what Ophelia was going through. My sweet girl was paying for the sins of her father and it killed me inside. I laid awake for hours rethinking every decision I ever made. My lifestyle puts her in danger, because of me someone chose to come after her. There is no option to quit this though. I can only press forward, find her, and put an end to those who would challenge me.
The next morning, I got up, got dressed and headed downstairs. I walked into the kitchen where Henry was cooking breakfast. I took a seat at the table and Liz brought me my coffee and a plate of food. As I started to eat my sons came into the kitchen, fixed themselves a plate of food and took a seat at the table.
We sat quietly and ate our breakfast; the whole house was quiet. Ophelia's absence was not only affecting us, but the staff as well, it has been days since I saw smiles on anyone's face. Suddenly my phone rang, I pulled it out of my pocket and saw the caller ID. Everyone stopped what they were doing and listened as I answered the phone and put it on speaker.
“Ben, what do you have?”
"Hey Boss, we’re heading back from Montreal. I found some areas of interest. James is sending the coordinates now. I also found a few abandoned buildings, but before I could get a closer look the drones had to turn around for recharge. There is a lot of abandoned shit north east of Montreal, I would like the search teams to continue in the area today."
"Sounds good. Once we receive the coordinates the teams will dispatch to the area and begin their search."
“Yes Sir," Ben said, before hanging up the phone.
The boys’ phones buzzed, and they received the coordinates. They forwarded it to each of their teams and told them to get loaded up.
"I want you boys to be safe out there today."
Noah nodded his head, “We will." They finished their breakfast, got up and walked out the door to meet their teams.
After I finished eating, I got up from the table and went to my office. I needed something to occupy my mind and figured I should get some of the work done that had been piling up on my desk. As soon as I sat at my desk, I saw the photo of Ophelia. It was all I could do to hold myself together as I stared at her photo. I closed my eyes and remembered the day the photo was taken. I wanted to get some family pictures done after she graduated, so we went to the creek that runs along the side of the property. The photographer was taking photos when she looked up and saw Ophelia standing along the edge of the creek. The white sun dress she was wearing made her look like an angel, her beautiful brown curly hair was blowing in the wind. She looked gorgeous, just like her mother. The photographer called her name and when Ophelia turned her head, she snapped the most stunning picture. When she showed it to me, I told her that I wanted it in a frame for my desk.
I started to sort through the paperwork when I heard the doorbell ring. I heard Phil, my butler, answer the door and began talking to someone. There was a knock at my office door, "Come in."
Phil opened the door, "Sir, Chief Miller is here to see you."
"Thank you, send him in."
Chief Miller walked in. I stood to shake his hand, "Chief, nice of you to stop by. What can I do for you?"
"Actually Mitch, I wanted to come by and check on you. I can't begin to act like I know what you're going through, but I wanted to see how you're doing," he said, taking a seat in the chair across from my desk.
Truth be told, the Chief has always been a good friend to the family. After the compound was finished being built, I had a meeting with Miller, and we came to an understanding a long time ago.
"Well thank you. But I'm doing about as well as you would expect. The longer it takes us to find her the more my patience wears thin. I'm doing my best not to completely lose my shit on my guys right now. I know they're doing everything they can, but it's frustrating not knowing where the fuck she's at."
"Your guys haven't found anything yet?"
"No, not a fucking thing. Ben is running drones at night and my boys have six teams that go out during the day to search on foot. But we haven't found shit yet. We've worked our way up around Montreal and are searching areas up there. Ben said there are a lot of abandoned buildings in that area, so we are hoping that we'll find something soon."
"I hope so. But can I ask you something?
“Sure, what’s that?”
“Are you sure she is still on this continent? Do you think it’s possible that they took her to another country?”
“Ben has a contact keeping track of all transportation routes in and out of New York and Canada. They’ve been pulling traffic cameras along the highways trying to find anything suspicious. She hasn’t gone through an airport, bus station or train station. She’s around here somewhere, it’s just taking us a little longer to find her.”
“Did Ben check with border security?”
“Yeah, he did. There were vehicles that went through there that matched some tire marks found at the crash site. It was rented vehicles and the names and IDs they used were fake. Ben tracked them as long as he could then they disappeared. There were no traffic cams to pull from and we lost them.
“Damn. Are you sure there isn't anything we can do? Do you need any extra men? I have several deputies that would like to help?"
"Thank you, but like I said before, I think I got plenty of manpower. It's not the manpower I need anyway. I need bigger drones and my own fucking satellite or something."
Chief laughed, "Man, I wish I could help you with that, but we don't even have half the shit you do. So, all I can offer you is manpower."
"Well thank you for the offer, but we got it covered. We'll find her soon."
Chief stood up from the chair, "Alright. If you need anything, anything at all, you know where to find me."
I stood and we shook hands once again, he opened the door and walked out. I sat back at my desk and continued my work.
Before I knew it, it was dark and there was another knock at my door, "Come in."
"Sir, the men are back."
"Thank you, Phil."
I got up from my desk and walked outside to the garage. Noah, Oliver, and Liam were unloading their bags from the trucks. They walked right by without saying a word and brought their stuff into the weapons vault. My heart sank to the pit of my stomach. I closed my eyes and put my head down, running my hand through my hair.
Fuck. Yet another day of nothing. I was starting to worry that we may never find her. My mind raced with so many negative thoughts.
I had been trying to keep it together, but I was not sure how much longer I could endure this. What if he had already killed her? What if he was torturing her? What if he had taken her back to Russia? What the fuck would I do then? Was I going to have to make a deal with the devil to get her back?
I stood there consumed with my thoughts and watched in silence as my sons talked with Ben about where they had searched. Ben marked a new search area, he and James loaded up the drones and drove off.
Mitch After Ben and James left, I walked back to the house and to the kitchen. Henry was preparing dinner, but my appetite was nonexistent at the moment. I grabbed a bottle of water from the refrigerator and patted Henry on the back as I passed by him. I went upstairs to my room and walked out onto the balcony. Lifting my head up to the sky, I whispered, "I am so sorry my love. I could not keep our baby safe. Please forgive me.” At that moment, as much as I hated to think about it, I was almost glad Grace wasn't here. She would be so disappointed in me. She was the love of my life, my light in the darkness, the one good thing in this horrible life. She never tried to take me from this life but made me promise that I would always keep our children safe. She never judged me for the things I did. To this day I have no idea why someone like her ever loved someone like me. I had done so many bad
Mitch When we got to the hospital, there were nurses already waiting for us. We laid Ophelia down on the bed and they took her away. Jax walked in with Damian and a nurse put him in an exam room also. I still could not believe we found them both alive. I tried to follow them, but another nurse placed her hand on my chest to stop me. She asked me to wait in the waiting room. I didn't want to wait, but she told me that I needed to let them examine Ophelia and that it would be better if I waited. Jax sent the rest of the men back to the compound. I had never been so proud of my guys; we cleared that fucking paper mill like it was nothing. A few of the guys had some flesh wounds, but nothing life threatening. I was proud of the team Jax, Noah and Oliver had trained. Noah, Oliver, Liam, James, Jax and I all went into the waiting room and took a seat. We were all still pretty jacked up from the figh
Ophelia Iopened my eyes, it was sunrise. I was standing in a beautiful field of lavender. I looked down and sawthat I was wearing a long white dress. There were no bruises, I felt no pain, and the blood that once covered my body was gone. I closed my eyes and dropped my arms to my side and walked through the field allowing my fingers to gently graze the flowers. I opened my eyes and saw that there was a woman standing in front of me. She was wearing a long white gown as well. Her back was facing me, and I had no idea who she was until she turned around to face me. "Mom," I cried out, as I ran over to her and wrapped my arms around her. "My beautiful baby girl." She said, wrapping her arms around me. Her warm embrace made me feel so much peace. I never wanted to let go. I missed my mom so much. I could not believe that she was here with me.
Damian "Damian." I heard a voice and felt someone put their hand on my shoulder. I woke up and swung my hand. Mitch grabbed my hand before it hit him, "Watch that hand boy." I took a deep breath relieved to find that it was him, "Sorry Sir." I looked down and saw Ophelia was still sleeping. I moved my arms slowly trying to not wake her and got out of the bed. "What happened?" Mitch whispered. "I came in here last night to check on her and she was crying so hard. I wanted to comfort her." "I was going to come see you after I checked on her. Let's step outside." "Yes sir." Mitch and I walked out of Ophelia's room and into the hallway. I saw Jax, Noah and Oliver standing there as well. "What's going on?" I asked. “We need to talk." Mitch said. I walked into my room first and Mitch, Noah, Oliver and Jax wa
Ophelia The next week passed by slowly. Dad, Noah, and Oliver would take turns visiting me during the day. They would bring me fresh clothes and Henry would make me a special basket with my favorite foods. Every day he had something different in the basket for me. When the doctors released Damian, he went back to the compound to grab some clothes and stayed with me. Not only did Damian stay with me, but dad also kept guards posted at the door. I hated having security, and I knew it was not going to get any better once I got home. Liam came by once before leaving to go back to New York City. Dad had bought me a new phone and I was able to call Sam, Chase, and Tyler. They still had no idea what had happened, so I had to come up with a lie. When dad cancelled my birthday party, he apparently did not give a reason, he had Ben send out a mass email letting everyone know my party was cancelled. Finally, the day arrived for me to go
Ophelia A few weeks after the accident, James decided to go back to Paris, he tried convincing dad to let me go with him, but that was a dead end. Dad was not letting me leave which pissed off James. I overheard several arguments between dad and James and James swore he was never coming back. I’m still not sure why it was such a big ordeal and every time I ask dad or Noah and Oliver about it; they tell me not to worry about it. The past several months have been very tough though.I’ve been talking with a psychologist twice a week and she’s helping me deal with my emotions. It took a while before I let Sam, Chase or Tyler come to the house. I didn’t want them to see what had happened to me. I could not bring myself to talk about what happened with anyone other than my therapist. Damian comes up almost every day and sits with me on the balcony. He’s been amazing and it’s been nice getting to know him even more.
Damian "WHERE THE FUCK IS SHE?" I yelled at the receptionist at the spa. She was visibly shaken by my tone, but I was in no mood to give a shit, "I-I don't know.” “Spas don’t take this long. SO, WHERE THE FUCK DID SHE GO?" "M-Maybe out the back door. No one is supposed to use that exit though." Apparently amid my yelling, the lady that let them out the back door heard the commotion and walked to the front. "I let her and Samantha out the back door. They said they were trying to avoid people in the front and I'm guessing you are those people," she sneered at me. Did this bitch really say that to me? Who the fuck does she think she is? I was seriously about to lose my shit all over this fucking spa. "You did what?" "I let her and Samantha out the back.” she repeated. Tightening my hands into fists a
Damian We got to the address that Ben had sent. I looked around trying to figure out where the fuck the club was. I saw a limo driver get out of his vehicle to smoke a cigarette. I walked over to him, "Excuse me. Have you seen this girl?" I asked, showing him a picture of Ophelia. "She's in the club." he said, pointing to an old building. "The club? Where?" "Underground man. Walk over to the door and say the password." "Thanks." I walked over to the metal door. I knocked and a small window opened, and I could see a man's face on the other side. "Password." he said. The one thing I’ve learned from working for Mitch the last few years, is that the Geno name goes a long way. Just about everyone in the underground world knows who he is and knows not to fuck with him. Even though I had no clue what the password could be, I had something even better, "I'm lo
DamianWhen we got back to the states after deployment, Noah told me to take a few days and go to Texas, then he would pick me up from there and bring me to New York. Noah knew the strained relationship I had with my family in Texas. But he insisted on me going down there.I went to Texas for a few days and stayed in the cabin on the ranch property. Despite everything that had happened in the past, most of my family was happy to see me. I hadn't been home since I left to join the Army. Of course, Tyson and I still were not on good terms, but none of that mattered. After catching up with everyone, I finally called Noah and told him I was ready to go to New York. He told me to give him a few hours and he would be down to get me.I met Noah at the airport and was surprised because they had their own private jet. He told me that Nathan and Brad had also accepted the job and we would pic
DamianGrowing up in Texas was outstanding. I was an only child and spent most of my childhood working with my father on our ranch. We had a large ranch in West Texas with horses and cattle. Every day after school I would hurry home to help dad tend to the animals or round up the cattle. We spent our weekends repairing fencing around the ranch or working on the new barns we were building. As I came into my teen years, I had some trouble in school. It took little for me to get in a fight. I'm still not sure why I was like that. My parents were on the way to the school to speak with the principal about my behavior. A few hours after my parents dropped me off with my aunt and uncle, two officers showed up at their house. That was the day my entire world came crashing down around me. While they were on the way to the school, a drunk driver crossed the white line and hit my parents' truck head on. The ac
Ophelia2 Years later:Looking at my reflection in the mirror, I could not believe it was finally happening. Today was the day I married the man of my dreams. The man who has protected me and fought for me. The man who brings me peace and comfort. I never expected to fall in love with my bodyguard, but Damian wasn't just any bodyguard. He was my everything, and I could not wait to be Mrs. Damian Blackman. I chose a very elegant dress made of lace and tulle with a modern fit and flared silhouette with a gorgeous lace train. The sweetheart neckline and natural waistline complimented my figure perfectly. There was beading and latticework on the bodice, while sequins and the addition of silver and ivory beading added to the dress. The sexy silhouette finished with a chapel length train and a lace hemline. All my girls were with me, including Lana. She has become such a great
Damian I brought Ophelia to one of the rooms and told her to rest then made my way to the bottom deck. We only had a few more hours before we would be ready to leave Russia and finally go home. When I walked onto the deck, I saw Mitch talking to Oliver and Noah. "Hey Boss." "Damian, how's your shoulder?" "It's good. I'm sorry about Jax. What happened?" "Yeah, me too. But Nathan and Oscar missed a sniper and Jax was killed when he came from behind one of the containers.""How the hell did they miss a sniper?" "According to them, when they scanned the first time, they only saw one sniper. Once Jax gave the signal, they took out that sniper. I'm guessing the other sniper was hiding somewhere because after the sniper was down a little while later, we started getting hit with another one. That's what happened to Andrew and
Mitch I watched as the men cleaned up the mess that was left from the fight with Ivankov. The concrete was stained red from the amount of blood that flowed over it. Oliver had taken charge and was barking out orders and making sure that everyone was doing what needed to get done. It had been a little while since the response team left the port to assist the team at the compound. Everything had been silent on their end and I was not sure what was going on. I was anxiously waiting to hear something from them. Once Oliver had given out orders, he walked over to me, “So what do you want to do with Liam and Ivankov? Are you planning to take them back to the states?” “I’m not planning to let them go. They both need to pay for what they have done. Because of them, Jax is dead and several more of our guys are dead.” “Let me handle it. I’ve jus
DamianWhile we waited for the signal, we split off into groups surrounding three sides of the compound. We each had a brick of C4 that we would place on the wall to blow our way into the compound. I had realized that this was not going to be graceful. We were not going to be able to sneak in quietly, we were about to make a lot of noise.“All teams get ready to set bombs,” Noah said over the radio. He kept his eyes on the watchtower to see when the guard turned and when he was facing us. We had to time this perfectly or we would give away our position.I got into position and when Noah motioned, I ran to the wall and placed a brick of C4 on the wall. I waited for Noah to motion again then ran back to the cover of the woods. “Bombs set.” team one and two said across the radio. I breathed a sigh of relief that they were able to set
MitchAmber made sure all the girls knew what to do. She did their makeup so that it looked like they had been beaten and messed up their hair. She told them to keep their heads down so that Liam would not recognize any of them. We loaded the girls into the container and the crane picked it up from the ship and brought it down onto the ground. During our trip, I had the guys outfit the container to make sure the girls would not be harmed when bullets started flying. I knew they were nervous, but they each agreed to play the part.Once everyone was in place, Javier and I got into the backseat of one of the Knights and Jax got into the front seat. We were going to sit in the truck until it was time. We made sure to have everything done before Ivankov and his men showed up.Nathan came across the radio and told us there was a sniper about 500 yards out. He and Oscar were going to take him out as soon a
Mitch We made it to Russia, two days ahead of schedule and were only a few hours from docking. Jax had the men on the bottom deck and was getting ready. They each put on Kevlar vests and the containers emptied quickly as each man armed themselves with weapons and ammo. I placed a call to Jason and told him we were only hours away. It surprised him we would dock early. But I didn’t want to take any chances. I wanted my men in place before Ivankov and his men even arrived. Jax had drawn out plans on where the containers would be placed giving us both an advantage and cover. Nathan and Oscar were busy setting up on the highest point on the ship, giving them the best vantage point. You couldn’t even tell there was anyone up there. Ben launched his drone and flew to the coordinates that Jason had sent of the compound. Once he was overhead, he informed me that there were abou
Mitch The next morning, I woke up to find Amber still in my bed snuggled against my chest. She looked adorable sleeping so peacefully. I carefully got up and went to the bathroom, taking a quick shower, and getting dressed. When I walked out of the bathroom she was still sleeping peacefully. I leaned over and kissed her forehead then walked out of the room. I walked down the hall and to the door that leads outside. When I stepped outside, I could see we were in the channel being brought in by tugboats to the dock. Placing my hands on the rail I looked out over the water towards land. I loved visiting Ireland; the country was beautiful. Should I ever actually retire, this would be where I would want to spend the rest of my days. I turned around and started walking to the bridge. Looking down at the bottom deck, I could see the guys getting the harnesses ready. There were paint buckets and brushes
