Damian
"Damian." I heard a voice and felt someone put their hand on my shoulder. I woke up and swung my hand. Mitch grabbed my hand before it hit him, "Watch that hand boy."
I took a deep breath relieved to find that it was him, "Sorry Sir."
I looked down and saw Ophelia was still sleeping. I moved my arms slowly trying to not wake her and got out of the bed.
"What happened?" Mitch whispered.
"I came in here last night to check on her and she was crying so hard. I wanted to comfort her."
"I was going to come see you after I checked on her. Let's step outside."
"Yes sir."
Mitch and I walked out of Ophelia's room and into the hallway. I saw Jax, Noah and Oliver standing there as well.
"What's going on?" I asked.
“We need to talk." Mitch said.
I walked into my room first and Mitch, Noah, Oliver and Jax walked in behind me, closing the door. Walking closer to the bed, I turned to face them.
"Sir, I'm sorry. I wanted to comfort her. She was really upset."
"Damian, I'm not worried about that."
I sighed, I thought I was about to get my ass kicked for sure.
"I want to know what happened. What went down, I want to know what you told Jax." Mitch said.
“After we left the restaurant, we were driving back and suddenly there were vehicles coming up on us quickly. So quickly that I was worried they were going to hit us. I picked up speed, but the faster I went, the faster they went. I knew something wasn't right, so I told Ophelia to call Ben. Then there were two big ass pickup trucks with plows on the front of them that pulled into the road and blocked it. I slammed the brakes hoping that we would stop, but we hit the fucking plows and flipped upside down. The airbags hit us both so hard it knocked us out for a moment. I was in and out, she was in and out. When I finally came to, I got her to wake up and that’s when we were both pulled from the truck. I could hear her screaming and when they pulled me out the truck, I started fighting. But one of them bastards hit me behind the head knocking me the fuck out. They put her in one vehicle and put me in another one.”
"Did they say anything to you?" Mitch asked.
"No Sir. When I woke up, they had us both tied to chairs on opposite sides of a big ass room. Anatoly kept telling her to read the fucking ransom note. She wouldn't and he slapped her a couple times. He had some guys standing over me and when she still wouldn't read it, they started hitting me. I tried breaking out of the restraints, but I couldn't. She finally read the ransom note, they took us to some fucking cold ass concrete cells and locked the door. For a little while, I was in the cell next to Ophelia, so I was able to talk to her and try to keep her calm. Then they brought us out of the cells again. Anatoly was talking to her again and again when she didn't answer he'd slap her. So, I started hollering at him and taunting him, told him to let me out the cuffs and I would kill everyone in there. I was trying to get his attention off her. They took the cuffs off, so I started fighting like hell, trying to take down every one of them but they kept coming, and I was outnumbered. I heard three gunshots and I turned around, I thought he had shot her. When I started walking towards him, he put the barrel of the gun to her head, and I froze. One of the guys behind me kicked me to the ground and they had a shitload of guns pointed at my head."
I stopped talking as I thought about what had happened, what Ophelia had done when they had their guns at my head. She put her life at risk for me, but I didn't want to tell the boss that.
"Then what happened?" Noah asked.
"Ophelia started screaming and some big ass Russian dude hauled her off back to her cell. I closed my eyes. I knew I was about to die. I was preparing for death, but I heard someone say something in Russian and Anatoly shot to the side of my head. They put me in a cell on the other side of the building and I never saw Ophelia again until y’all came for us."
"Did they ask you any questions?" Mitch asked.
"Yes Sir. They asked me about you."
"What did you tell them?" Oliver asked.
"I kept repeating my name and my tag numbers. I wasn't saying a fucking thing other than that."
"I wanted you to fill in the blanks for me. I mean there is only so much we know. The rest of it, only you and Ophelia know." Mitch said.
"I understand Sir. I wish I could have done more to get us out of there. I have no idea what they did to her after they separated us. I wish there were more that I could tell you."
"Well, we have an idea of what happened to her, at least what the doctors are saying happened to her." Mitch said quietly.
"What happened?"
Noah shook his head, "I don't think you want to know.”
"What the fuck, what the fuck did they do?" I asked, trying to hide my anger.
Mitch didn't say anything for a moment, he stood there staring at me, then looked over at Noah and Oliver.
“Would one of you please tell me what the fuck happened?"
"From what the doctors told us...she was um…" Mitch cleared his throat, "She was beaten and raped."
My jaw hit the floor and I stumbled backwards before sitting on the edge of the bed. I put my hand over my eyes, my other hand balled into a fist. At that moment I wanted to throw something. I wanted to fucking kill someone. I wished one of the motherfuckers was still alive so I could fucking kill them in the worst possible way. I sat there for a minute trying to calm myself. How could they fucking do that? Why did they have to do that to her? Noah walked over and sat on the bed next to me, he put his hand on my shoulder but didn't say anything. Finally, I stood up and looked at Mitch.
"I need to know something."
"What's that?" He asked.
"How the hell did they know where she would be? How did they know she would be going out on that day, in that particular vehicle?"
The expression on Mitch's face changed as he looked at me then looked at Jax. His eyes widened as if a light bulb went off and he realized what I had asked. Noah looked at me the same why, as though none of them had thought about this before.
"We have a fucking rat." Oliver said, finally breaking the silence.
"Wait! What?" Mitch asked, as if he didn't hear what Oliver had said.
"While I sat in the cell, I did a lot of thinking. The way they suddenly came up on us, it was like they were sitting and waiting for us to pass and got behind us. Like they knew what we would be driving. Something didn't add up. The two trucks that crossed the road, I mean that shit wasn't random. Someone fucking planned that out. Someone put a lot of thought into that. For them to take us so far off into the damn woods. I mean they knew how much time they had; they knew what they were doing."
Mitch looked at Jax, "I was so consumed with finding her that I never even stopped to question that. Who else knew they were going out that day?"
"Just about everyone at the compound knew, it had been planned for days." Jax responded.
"I want everyone looked at. I want to know what everyone on my compound is doing. I want to know who the fuck they are talking to and if they are taking any extra money. I want everyone fucking looked at. I want to fucking know every move they are making," Mitch said, his voice getting louder as he spoke.
"I’ll coordinate with Ben and we’ll let you know as soon as we find something." Jax said.
"This conversation stays between us. I do not want Ophelia to know about this theory and I do not want anyone at the compound to know what we are doing. Is that understood?" Mitch said, looking at each of us.
"Yes Sir." We said all together.
All I knew, if I was right, if we did have a rat, then Ophelia was not yet safe. I had to do everything I could to keep her safe, to protect her, to make up for failing her. I would not fail her again. I would never let anyone hurt her again. I would not be able to live with myself if anything happened to her again.
Ophelia The next week passed by slowly. Dad, Noah, and Oliver would take turns visiting me during the day. They would bring me fresh clothes and Henry would make me a special basket with my favorite foods. Every day he had something different in the basket for me. When the doctors released Damian, he went back to the compound to grab some clothes and stayed with me. Not only did Damian stay with me, but dad also kept guards posted at the door. I hated having security, and I knew it was not going to get any better once I got home. Liam came by once before leaving to go back to New York City. Dad had bought me a new phone and I was able to call Sam, Chase, and Tyler. They still had no idea what had happened, so I had to come up with a lie. When dad cancelled my birthday party, he apparently did not give a reason, he had Ben send out a mass email letting everyone know my party was cancelled. Finally, the day arrived for me to go
Ophelia A few weeks after the accident, James decided to go back to Paris, he tried convincing dad to let me go with him, but that was a dead end. Dad was not letting me leave which pissed off James. I overheard several arguments between dad and James and James swore he was never coming back. I’m still not sure why it was such a big ordeal and every time I ask dad or Noah and Oliver about it; they tell me not to worry about it. The past several months have been very tough though.I’ve been talking with a psychologist twice a week and she’s helping me deal with my emotions. It took a while before I let Sam, Chase or Tyler come to the house. I didn’t want them to see what had happened to me. I could not bring myself to talk about what happened with anyone other than my therapist. Damian comes up almost every day and sits with me on the balcony. He’s been amazing and it’s been nice getting to know him even more.
Damian "WHERE THE FUCK IS SHE?" I yelled at the receptionist at the spa. She was visibly shaken by my tone, but I was in no mood to give a shit, "I-I don't know.” “Spas don’t take this long. SO, WHERE THE FUCK DID SHE GO?" "M-Maybe out the back door. No one is supposed to use that exit though." Apparently amid my yelling, the lady that let them out the back door heard the commotion and walked to the front. "I let her and Samantha out the back door. They said they were trying to avoid people in the front and I'm guessing you are those people," she sneered at me. Did this bitch really say that to me? Who the fuck does she think she is? I was seriously about to lose my shit all over this fucking spa. "You did what?" "I let her and Samantha out the back.” she repeated. Tightening my hands into fists a
Damian We got to the address that Ben had sent. I looked around trying to figure out where the fuck the club was. I saw a limo driver get out of his vehicle to smoke a cigarette. I walked over to him, "Excuse me. Have you seen this girl?" I asked, showing him a picture of Ophelia. "She's in the club." he said, pointing to an old building. "The club? Where?" "Underground man. Walk over to the door and say the password." "Thanks." I walked over to the metal door. I knocked and a small window opened, and I could see a man's face on the other side. "Password." he said. The one thing I’ve learned from working for Mitch the last few years, is that the Geno name goes a long way. Just about everyone in the underground world knows who he is and knows not to fuck with him. Even though I had no clue what the password could be, I had something even better, "I'm lo
Ophelia When we left the hotel, we drove through town and found a cute little breakfast café. Damian parked out front. We went inside and took a seat at an empty booth. A young waitress walked over and gave us each a menu and poured us coffee. "Hey, I'm Sarah, how are you this morning handsome," she said, flirting with Damian. "We're good. Thanks." He smiled. "I'll give you some time to look over your menu." she said, smiling at Damian and walked off. I raised an eyebrow at Damian and whispered, "Did she like not see me or something?" Damian blushed and shrugged his shoulders. I could tell he thought it was funny. A little while later, the waitress walked back to our table. "What can I get for you?" she asked, trying to sound sexy. "Yeah. I'll have your breakfast sampler," he said, smiling back at her. Then the waitress looked at me. "What do
Damian When we got back to the compound, I brought Ophelia inside to her father's office. He told her to take a seat and dismissed me. I went back to the truck and pulled it around to the garage then walked back to the bunkhouse. I walked in and went to my room. I needed a shower. I got undressed and stepped in the shower and washed up. As I stood there letting the water run over my head, I couldn't help but think about seeing Ophelia with another guy. That shit killed me. I wanted her to be mine. Only mine. I didn't want to see her with another man. I got out of the shower and realized that Ophelia still had my jacket. I put on a pair of grey track pants, a white t-shirt, and my white sneakers. I walked out of the bunkhouse and up to the main house. I walked in and saw Phil, "What do you need Damian?" he asked. "Ophelia still has my jacket. I think I left my wallet in it," I responded w
Damian If anyone could help me with what I had planned it was Mr. Henry and Ms. Liz. They basically ran the house along with Phil. I knew who to go to for help.I walked to the kitchen and saw Henry and hisassistants getting ready to start cooking dinner, "Hey Mr. Henry. Could I ask you a favor?" "Sure Damian. What do you need?" "How hard would it be to get a picnic basket for tonight?" He looked at me confused, "What do you need that for?" "I'm taking Ophelia out and thought about maybe getting a basket with some wine and some of her favorite treats." He lifted his hands and walked over to me and gave me a hug, "It's about time!" "Wait what?" "Nothing. Forget I said that. What time do you want that basket for?" "7:30 okay?" "Perfect! I'll have it ready for you."
Ophelia “Nice truck.” He opened the door for me and helped me in, “Thank you, baby girl. I got it a few months ago.” He closed the door, walked around, and got in the driver seat, “This is for you,” he said, handing me a beautiful red rose. I put the rose to my nose and smelled it, “It’s beautiful. Thank you.” He started the truck and drove down the driveway and out the front gate, “So where are we going?” I asked. He looked at me and grinned, “You’ll see.” “So not even a little hint?” “The only hint I’m giving you is this, it’s something you’ve never done before.” I looked at him confused. What the hell does that mean? I leaned over and rubbed my hand against the side of his face, Oliver really did leave a big ass bruise. “You shouldn’t have gone up against Oliver like that.” “Why not? “B
DamianWhen we got back to the states after deployment, Noah told me to take a few days and go to Texas, then he would pick me up from there and bring me to New York. Noah knew the strained relationship I had with my family in Texas. But he insisted on me going down there.I went to Texas for a few days and stayed in the cabin on the ranch property. Despite everything that had happened in the past, most of my family was happy to see me. I hadn't been home since I left to join the Army. Of course, Tyson and I still were not on good terms, but none of that mattered. After catching up with everyone, I finally called Noah and told him I was ready to go to New York. He told me to give him a few hours and he would be down to get me.I met Noah at the airport and was surprised because they had their own private jet. He told me that Nathan and Brad had also accepted the job and we would pic
DamianGrowing up in Texas was outstanding. I was an only child and spent most of my childhood working with my father on our ranch. We had a large ranch in West Texas with horses and cattle. Every day after school I would hurry home to help dad tend to the animals or round up the cattle. We spent our weekends repairing fencing around the ranch or working on the new barns we were building. As I came into my teen years, I had some trouble in school. It took little for me to get in a fight. I'm still not sure why I was like that. My parents were on the way to the school to speak with the principal about my behavior. A few hours after my parents dropped me off with my aunt and uncle, two officers showed up at their house. That was the day my entire world came crashing down around me. While they were on the way to the school, a drunk driver crossed the white line and hit my parents' truck head on. The ac
Ophelia2 Years later:Looking at my reflection in the mirror, I could not believe it was finally happening. Today was the day I married the man of my dreams. The man who has protected me and fought for me. The man who brings me peace and comfort. I never expected to fall in love with my bodyguard, but Damian wasn't just any bodyguard. He was my everything, and I could not wait to be Mrs. Damian Blackman. I chose a very elegant dress made of lace and tulle with a modern fit and flared silhouette with a gorgeous lace train. The sweetheart neckline and natural waistline complimented my figure perfectly. There was beading and latticework on the bodice, while sequins and the addition of silver and ivory beading added to the dress. The sexy silhouette finished with a chapel length train and a lace hemline. All my girls were with me, including Lana. She has become such a great
Damian I brought Ophelia to one of the rooms and told her to rest then made my way to the bottom deck. We only had a few more hours before we would be ready to leave Russia and finally go home. When I walked onto the deck, I saw Mitch talking to Oliver and Noah. "Hey Boss." "Damian, how's your shoulder?" "It's good. I'm sorry about Jax. What happened?" "Yeah, me too. But Nathan and Oscar missed a sniper and Jax was killed when he came from behind one of the containers.""How the hell did they miss a sniper?" "According to them, when they scanned the first time, they only saw one sniper. Once Jax gave the signal, they took out that sniper. I'm guessing the other sniper was hiding somewhere because after the sniper was down a little while later, we started getting hit with another one. That's what happened to Andrew and
Mitch I watched as the men cleaned up the mess that was left from the fight with Ivankov. The concrete was stained red from the amount of blood that flowed over it. Oliver had taken charge and was barking out orders and making sure that everyone was doing what needed to get done. It had been a little while since the response team left the port to assist the team at the compound. Everything had been silent on their end and I was not sure what was going on. I was anxiously waiting to hear something from them. Once Oliver had given out orders, he walked over to me, “So what do you want to do with Liam and Ivankov? Are you planning to take them back to the states?” “I’m not planning to let them go. They both need to pay for what they have done. Because of them, Jax is dead and several more of our guys are dead.” “Let me handle it. I’ve jus
DamianWhile we waited for the signal, we split off into groups surrounding three sides of the compound. We each had a brick of C4 that we would place on the wall to blow our way into the compound. I had realized that this was not going to be graceful. We were not going to be able to sneak in quietly, we were about to make a lot of noise.“All teams get ready to set bombs,” Noah said over the radio. He kept his eyes on the watchtower to see when the guard turned and when he was facing us. We had to time this perfectly or we would give away our position.I got into position and when Noah motioned, I ran to the wall and placed a brick of C4 on the wall. I waited for Noah to motion again then ran back to the cover of the woods. “Bombs set.” team one and two said across the radio. I breathed a sigh of relief that they were able to set
MitchAmber made sure all the girls knew what to do. She did their makeup so that it looked like they had been beaten and messed up their hair. She told them to keep their heads down so that Liam would not recognize any of them. We loaded the girls into the container and the crane picked it up from the ship and brought it down onto the ground. During our trip, I had the guys outfit the container to make sure the girls would not be harmed when bullets started flying. I knew they were nervous, but they each agreed to play the part.Once everyone was in place, Javier and I got into the backseat of one of the Knights and Jax got into the front seat. We were going to sit in the truck until it was time. We made sure to have everything done before Ivankov and his men showed up.Nathan came across the radio and told us there was a sniper about 500 yards out. He and Oscar were going to take him out as soon a
Mitch We made it to Russia, two days ahead of schedule and were only a few hours from docking. Jax had the men on the bottom deck and was getting ready. They each put on Kevlar vests and the containers emptied quickly as each man armed themselves with weapons and ammo. I placed a call to Jason and told him we were only hours away. It surprised him we would dock early. But I didn’t want to take any chances. I wanted my men in place before Ivankov and his men even arrived. Jax had drawn out plans on where the containers would be placed giving us both an advantage and cover. Nathan and Oscar were busy setting up on the highest point on the ship, giving them the best vantage point. You couldn’t even tell there was anyone up there. Ben launched his drone and flew to the coordinates that Jason had sent of the compound. Once he was overhead, he informed me that there were abou
Mitch The next morning, I woke up to find Amber still in my bed snuggled against my chest. She looked adorable sleeping so peacefully. I carefully got up and went to the bathroom, taking a quick shower, and getting dressed. When I walked out of the bathroom she was still sleeping peacefully. I leaned over and kissed her forehead then walked out of the room. I walked down the hall and to the door that leads outside. When I stepped outside, I could see we were in the channel being brought in by tugboats to the dock. Placing my hands on the rail I looked out over the water towards land. I loved visiting Ireland; the country was beautiful. Should I ever actually retire, this would be where I would want to spend the rest of my days. I turned around and started walking to the bridge. Looking down at the bottom deck, I could see the guys getting the harnesses ready. There were paint buckets and brushes
